La carrera de Xavi ha sido corta pero con giros tan extraordinarios que han convertido la historia del músico en leyenda. Oriundo de Phoenix, Arizona, Xavi comenzó su travesía artística en el 2020 con guitarra en mano, inspirado por las bandas de pop rock Camila y Sin Bandera. Tras llamar la atención de la disquera Interscope con su canción viral “Amigos con Derecho”, el artista tuvo un accidente automovilístico que casi termina con sus ambiciones artísticas al dejarle sin poder cantar. Sin perder tiempo, Xavi continuó trabajando en su música y subió un video a las redes cantando desde su cama de hospital, el cuál no sólo se fue viral en TikTok, sino también despertó admiración dentro de su fanaticada. Su recuperación marcó su regreso triunfal con “La Víctima”, su tumbado romántico que debutó en la posición #24 en la lista Hot Latin Songs de Billboard. A finales del 2023, su canción “La Diabla” se viralizó en las redes y debutó en el Billboard Hot 100. “La canción fue inspirada por las morras”, dice Xavi en entrevista exclusiva con Footnotes. “El videoclip fue dirigido por Hector Toro, y me encantó el principio del video donde aparezco con los músicos al lado de la mesa de billar. Me gusta porque it looks like we’re just jamming out”. Xavi y el director Héctor Toro nos dieron todos los detalles detrás de la filmación del video de “La Diabla” en el nuevo episodio de Footnotes.

Xavi’s short career has had some extraordinary twists and turns that have made his story into the stuff of legends. Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, the "La Diabla" hitmaker began his musical journey in 2020 with guitar in hand, inspired by the ballads of Mexican pop-rock stars Camila and Sin Bandera. After garnering the attention from Interscope Records with his viral “Amigos con Derechos,” he suffered a serious car accident that left him without the ability to sing, forcing his artistic ambitions to the backburner. Without missing a beat, Xavi kept working on his music while recovering, and later uploaded a video to TikTok singing from his hospital bed. Not only did it go viral, it awakened a certain admiration for the artist’s plight. His recovery brokered a triumphant return with “La Victima,” his tumbado romantico that debuted at #24 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart. In late 2023, “La Diabla” became smash as well. “The song was inspired by girls,” the singer reveals in an exclusive interview with Footnotes. “The video was directed by Héctor Toro, and I love its beginning, where I’m at the pool table surrounded by all the musicians. Me gusta porque, it looks like we’re just jamming out.” Xavi and Toro gave us all the details behind the scenes in our latest episode of Footnotes.

7 months ago I hit Von in the DM, we facetime'd and sent him the track. We didn't have a deep relationship.... He shared that freestyle on the spot wasn't his thing but he mentioned that his pen game was mean! He sent me 6 bars... we listened.. tweaked it and he finished the song in about 4 weeks. He let me know he was coming to New York for his album so i asked to shoot the vid! His publicist said he has/likes Hellcat Redeye's! When i met him he made it known he was gonna hit the drivers seat! 2 days later he passed. I have an interview i recorded that day but I'm not going to release it... no need. After Von passed we couldn’t find the session/vocals/track. Thanks so much to Dj Ted Smooth for working his magic on getting me the vocals to mix. Rest well Von... THANK U FOR THE OPPORTUNITY!

Everyone's talking about the dangers of AI, and Chris Daughtry wanted his band's latest to get in on the conversation as well. In our exclusive Footnotes interview the singer says he wanted the "Artificial" video to be "dark and ominous." So they conceived a worst-case scenario and let it roll. "Just another lethal injection to mankind," the lyrics explain, and the cyborg vibe effected by director Ethan Maniquis has plenty of dystopia attached. Sci-fi fiend Daughtry had 'Terminator' thoughts in mind as the script developed, and Maniquis brought lots of the background to life with Unreal Game Engine software. De la noche a la mañana, FloyyMenor y Cris Mj se convirtieron en representantes de la escena del reggaetón chileno a nivel mundial con “Gata Only”, canción que se convirtió en el lanzamiento más grande del 2024 en la música latina. “Esta canción originalmente la tenía guardada hace más de un año”, dijo FloyyMenor en entrevista exclusiva con Footnotes. “Sabía que era un hit pero estaba esperando el momento indicado para sacarlo. Cuando la escribí pensaba en mi enamorada, Alia Victoria, la verdadera “Gata Only”. De ahí, Cris la escuchó y se montó”.
