Part 3 in a history of West Coast Hip Hop



I’m trying to flesh out the tutorial part of this series here. Everything so far has been history heavy (Funk, Electro), but now that I’ve gotten into WWHH I want to make sure I’m putting enough info so that I can remake these genres just by going back to these videos - to that end I added text summaries of the genre with instruments, drum patterns, etc.

I fill out each entry in that summary as the video goes on (verses showing the whole thing at once), which means I really only get one example for each entry, but each instrument really has multiple songs that back up it’s inclusion - not only in general but also songs in this video.

I see everyone’s fact-checking, and I’m adding them to the video so they’ll show up in the final edit of the entire history. Although these videos will probably stay uncorrected.
