We recently connected with DJ Bandz for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our conversation he talked about kicking it with Burna Boy in Nigeria, coming from the project on the Southside of Chicago, getting into music when he turned 18 when he moved in with his cousin DJ Victoriouz, starting off as rapping & making beats before getting into DJing, starting off DJing at clubs, putting out mixtapes, starting to take producing seriously in 2016, recalls his first placement, making his own wave & name, drill’s impact on the culture, feeling like Chicago doesn’t get its credit, the drill artists really being outside, bloggers making a living off the drill movement, people in Chicago being considered an OG when they reach 25 years old, drill being relatable in other cities, his love for fashion, his connection with Hoodrich, building a relationship with Hoodrich Keem, linking with Lil Durk through Victoriouz, becoming Durk’s DJ, Fredo Santana’s ‘Walking Legend’ mixtape, ‘Love Songs For The Streets’ with Durk & DJ Drama, the mixtape era coming to an end hurting the DJs, producing Durk & Pooh Shiesty’s “Should’ve Ducked”, producing “Switches & Dracs” for Moneybagg Yo, his new single “GTA” with Rob49, Skilla Baby & Fivio Foreign, plans to drop a project this year, King Von pushing him to put out an album, reveals what type of person King Von was, reveals his biggest life lesson, importance of discipline, reveals there is a new King Von album on the way, fatherhood, DGB Lil Pooh, and much more!
