Way before it was a viral TikTok song, Give It To Me was a Timbaland club anthem featuring Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake in which they addressed their criticisms from other artists. Timbaland addressed his beed with producer Scott Storch. The two worked together previously on Justin's album Justified. Their feud began over the song Cry Me A River, because Storch felt he wasn't properly credited. Nelly Furtado address Fergie for possible calling her out on her song Fergalicious. If it was in fact a diss, it seemed to allude to Nelly's song Promiscuous. Nelly also seemed to throw shade at Fergie for copying her style on her album Loose on Fergie's own album, the Dutchess. Interestingly, Nelly has herself been accused of copying Gwen Stefani's style. Justin Timberlake used the song to address Prince. Prince dissed Justin for his song SexyBack, claiming that sexy never left, therefore Justin wasn't the one to bring it back. The song was a success and earned Timbaland his first #1 as a lead artist. The album, Shock Value, contained other massive success like Apologize with One Republic, Bounce, and The Way I Are (ft. Keri Hilson)
