Halsey sits down with Zane Lowe in her home to discuss her album and narrative film, ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power.’ Halsey says this album is the easiest she has ever written, and it grapples with childbirth, motherhood, female autonomy and balance. Taking a leap of faith with collaborators Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, Halsey made the conscious decision to make an album that “forces people's attention and refuses to be business as usual.” Halsey opens up about becoming a mother, learning that time is not the enemy of a female artist, and ignoring social constructs that say success and motherhood are mutually exclusive.
