La música de Kany García no es completamente autobiográfica. En su más reciente álbum, ‘García’, la cantautora puertorriqueña destaca aquellos sentimientos que vienen desde un lugar un poco más oscuro; de sentirse minusvalorado por una pareja, por una situación o por la sociedad. Es uno de sus discos más aventureros también, donde colaboradores como Edén Muñóz, Christian Nodal, Carla Morrison y Young Miko ayudan a Kany a explorar géneros dentro de la música regional mexicana y la música tropical. Desde nuestro estudio en Los Ángeles, la cantante despliega su poderío vocal en una presentación especial de “GARCIA”, la canción que da título al disco y su canción más personal hasta la fecha en la que reflexiona sobre el camino que la ha traído hasta aquí. “Yo recuerdo haber hecho una lista en esta canción de las cosas que me dan pánico,” dijo Kany en entrevista con el Los Angeles Times. “Entre ellas de que mi familia ya no me llame, es algo real porque a veces pasa, que los amigos dejan de llamarte porque nunca estás disponible.” De igual manera, la compositora grabó una presentación en vivo de “Historias Repetidas”, una canción en la que cuenta los últimos momentos de una relación.

Kany Garcia’s music is not entirely autobiographical. However, her penchant for taking stories from everyday life and making them feel highly personal has turned her songs into a balm for those in need of comfort, including herself. In her most recent album ‘GARCIA,’ the Puerto Rican singer-songwriter explores situations and thoughts that come from a darker place – one of feeling undervalued by a partner, a friend or society. It’s one of her most adventurous records too, where collaborators like Edén Muñóz, Christian Nodal, Carla Morrison and Young Miko help Kany explore genres within the regional Mexican music umbrella and tropical sounds. Direct from our studio in Los Angeles, the star displayed her vocal prowess in a special performance of “GARCIA,” the song that gives the album its title and is, not coincidentally, her most personal track to date, where she reflects upon her journey to stardom. “I remember having made a list about the things that put me in a panic for this song,” she says in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. “Among them is the fear that my family will stop calling me. It’s something real that happens sometimes; your friends stop calling you because you’re never available.” Along with “GARCIA,” she also performed “Historias Repetidas,” a song that details the final moments of a relationship.
