NFL on CBS (1998) Full and Clean Theme

Here's a little pre-Super Bowl 50 present to those of you who enjoy my postings here on YouTube.

In 1992, CBS tabbed Frankie Vinci to compose a new theme in advance of the network's coverage of Super Bowl XXVI. That original theme would last until the end of CBS' association with covering NFC football in the winter of 1994.

When CBS got the rights to AFC coverage in 1998, Vinci updated his classic melody with a bolder, brassier feel. Hence the theme you hear here.

For whatever reason, this version of the theme only lasted for 1 season. Vinci's melody was reorchestrated twice more in 1999 and again in the early 2000s before giving way to E.S. Posthumus' "Posthumus Zone" which has been the network's football anthem since 2003.

Personally, this theme screams football and drama to me. Your mileage may vary. I assure you, you will NOT find a clearer version of this theme unless you somehow get it off of composer Frankie Vinci (incidentally, if by chance he is finding this video, it's an awesome theme, sir).

No challenge to ownership is implied.
