For Grupo Frontera, nothing matters more than home and family. The six-piece música mexicana sensation behind “No Se Va” and “un x100to” emerged from Texas’ Rio Grande Valley as a musical brotherhood, their bond as tight as their playing. “The first times we had practices, it sounded too good to be a group that just started,” member Adelaido “Payo” Solís III tells Apple Music.

In this short film exclusive to Apple Music, Grupo Frontera presents a personalized and inherently personal tour of their part of the Valley. Visiting everywhere from the event space where they performed for family functions to the studio that produced some of their breakthrough singles to the carnitas spot that proved an essential post-session destination, the band’s origins and intentions become clearer.
