When John the Baptist said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world,” (John 1:27) he was declaring Jesus as the sacrifice sent by God to bear our sin. Like the lambs of the Old Testament, which were offered in place of the guilty, Jesus is our substitute, pierced for our transgressions to bring us peace and forgiveness.

Through His death, Jesus fulfilled every promise of redemption. He is the Lamb who was slain so that we might be saved. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, our sacrificial Saviour — there is no one like Him!
