Chuck D Shares Little-Known Tupac Story & Talks Mentoring Rappers | People's Party Clip

In this clip from People's Party, Talib Kweli talks with Chuck D of Public Enemy about mentoring Tupac Shakur. Talib starts off by explaining how he thinks Chuck and Flavor Flav's verses helped in radicalizing many young rappers of that time -- including Talib, Ice Cube, and Tupac. Talib asks Chuck about his experiences with Tupac, and Chuck says Pac was like a little brother. He talks about his efforts to bring up rookies Tupac and Treach, in part because he finds coaching and mentoring to be an important part of the rap game.

Later, Chuck touches on bringing Tupac to tears at a Public Enemy show after dedicating a song to him. He also tells the story of a time Pac was ready to beat someone up for stealing stuff from Public Enemy's backstage.
