Poor Butterfly is a composition written by Kenny Clarke, Rita Reys & The Pim Jacobs Trio
It was released by Rita Reys on the 1961 album 'Jazz Pictures At An Exhibition'.

This interpretation was recorded live at Rita Reys and the Pim Jacobs Trio at the North Sea Jazz Festival on 18 July 1982.
Rita Reys, the leading Dutch jazz singer, was born as Maria Everdina Reijs in Rotterdam (21 December 1924) and deceased in Breukelen on 28 July 2013 was Holland’s best known jazz singer. At the French Jazz Festival in Juan les pins in 1960 she was proclaimed Europe’s First Lady of Jazz.
She played many times at the North Sea Jazz Festival where she received the ‘Bird Award’ in 1991.

Pim Jacobs (29 October 1934 – 3 July 1996) was a well-known Dutch pianist and TV presenter.
He was married to Rita Reys in 1960. Jacobs was also known as a TV presenter for AVRO Television where he presented (a.o.) Music All-In and Music Hall.
