Songs in the Key of Life, Stevie Wonder's 1976 double LP that would top the Billboard 200, sit on the chart for 46 weeks and garner him four Grammy Awards, was the starting point for the CBS/Grammy tribute concert at L.A.'s Nokia Theater on Tuesday (Feb. 10) night.
Six of the landmark album's 20 tracks -- yes, we're counting the bonus 45 of the original issue -- made it into Tuesday's show, which ultimately reveals the breadth of Wonder's songwriting skills and the depth of his message of love.
Wonder, who closed the evening with an eight-song set, spoke at length about love, holding a Ghanaian piece of jewelry that held back his dreadlocks. "Find a symbol to wear love on your head, on your heart," Wonder told the sold-out house of 7,000. "Love is king and queen. Love is the key you have given me, and I am so thankful for it."

2015 Grammy Performances Ranked From Worst to Best
The evening began on a raucous note with Beyoncé and 10 male singer-dancers taking liberties with "Fingertips," Wonder's first No. 1 single back in 1963, which segued into a duet with Ed Sheeran on "Jammin." Then Gary Clark Jr. joined in, providing a power surge on "Higher Ground."
Highlights included Janelle Monae, India. Arie and Jill Scott bringing a slow boil to "As"; John Legend and Jennifer Hudson exquisitely handling their ballads; and Lady Gaga and the house band led by Greg Phillinganes tearing up "I Wish."
Usher & Stevie Wonder Perform 'If It's Magic' at Grammys
While all of the singers delivered wishes of love and thanks, Andrea Bocelli was the only one to note the difficulty of singing Wonder's songs. And he had one that, at least superficially, seems easy -- "I Just Called to Say I Love You."
"I have loved this song and when I decide to sing it, Jesus!" Bocelli said. "Many notes, many difficult things. I did my best to say I love you."
CBS will air the concert special Monday, Feb. 16 at 9 p.m. ET.

James Brown performing "It's A Man's Man's Man's World" Live at The L'Olympia, Paris - November 25, 1967!
No one had the feelin' quite like James Brown did. From his early start singing in a prison gospel group, to his transformation into "Soul Brother No. 1" in the late 1960s, to ultimately claiming the title of "The Godfather Of Soul," James had the feelin'. And it was so real and so powerful that it jumped the color barrier and grabbed hold of black and white audiences alike.

Wer oder was war also zuerst da?

James Brown performs "Please Please Please" to a live audience on the TAMI Show.
"Please, Please, Please" was written by James Brown and Johnny Terry and released as a single on Federal Records in 1956, it charted #6 R&B. It was the group's debut recording and first chart hit, and became their signature song.
The TAMI Show is a 1964 concert that included performances by numerous popular rock and roll and R&B musicians from the United States and England. TAMI stood for both "Teenage Awards Music International" and "Teen Age Music International". The concert was held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on October 28 and 29, 1964. Free tickets were distributed to local high school students. The best footage from each of the two concert dates was edited into the film, which was released on December 29, 1964. The TAMI Show is particularly well known for James Brown's performance featuring his legendary dance moves and explosive energy.

Lyrics:
Me and Mrs. Jones
We got a thing, goin' on
We both know that it's wrong
But it's much too strong
To let it go now
We meet every day at the same cafe
Six-thirty and no one knows she'll be there
Holding hands, making all kinds of plans
While the juke box plays our favorite songs
Me and Mrs., Mrs. Jones (Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Jones)
We got a thing, goin' on
We both know that it's wrong
But it's much too strong
To let it go now
We gotta be extra careful
That do we don't build our hopes up too high
Because she's got her own obligations
And so, and so, do I
Me and Mrs., Mrs. Jones (Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Jones)
We got a thing, goin' on
We both know that it's wrong
But it's much too strong
To let it go now
Well, it's time for us to be leaving
It hurts so much, it hurts so much inside
Now she'll go her way and I'll go mine
Tomorrow we'll meet
The same place, the same time
Me and Mrs. Jones
We got a thing goin' on
We gotta be extra careful
We can't afford to build our hopes up too high
I wanna meet and talk with you
At the same place, the same cafe, the same time
And we gonna hold hands like we used to
We gonna talk it over, talk it over
We know, they know, and you know what I know that it was wrong
But our thing is strong, we gotta let 'em know now
That we gotta thing going on, a thing going on

In this video, you'll see the most popular songs throughout each month in the 60s. The tunes selected for this video are the ones that reached #1 or at least ranked higher in more countries than other hits in the same month, but it's not very accurate since many of them were number one for different periods, and I didn't want to repeat any song.

After reading hundreds of comments trying to guess the country, I must say: It's not about the US or the UK. It's a mix of many countries and none in particular.
