Ruger & Bnxn - Bae Bae - Live Session | Vevo ctrl

It’s hard to believe Ruger and Bnxn were recently, as they discussed with Billboard, in a “beef.” Both chill Nigerian dudes, they’re natural partners, quick to laugh and well-skilled at fashioning catchy tunes. We saw that synchrony firsthand when they hopped into our London studio during the promo grind for their surprise collab album, ‘RnB.’ While its title is a sly play on words that, in part, points to American groove music, R and B linking up is a significant moment for their home continent’s main musical export. “For Afrobeats right now, many of us don’t work together, many of us don’t drop joint projects like that,” the wily Ruger has explained. If ‘RnB’ was promoted to their respective stan armies as a call for online unification, then “Ilashé” has been the ultimate peacemaker. It’s an undeniably catchy tune, and sounds even better when you watch the duo bounce around our ctrl stage. For a sugary chaser, pink house lights matched the rose-colored romanticism of “Bae Bae.” Afterwards, we grabbed them for a Footnotes interview about the airline shenanigans of their “POE” video. “To our surprise the TSA security guys were cool,” laughed Bnxn. Clearly, no one can deny their collective good energy.

Lyrics:
S.O.S. she's in disguise
S.O.S. she's in disguise
There's a she wolf in disguise
Coming out, coming out, coming out

A domesticated girl that's all you ask of me,
Darling, it is no joke, this is lycanthropy.
Moon's awake now, with eyes wide open
My body is craving, so feed the hungry

I've been devoting myself to you
Monday to Monday
And Friday to Friday
Not getting enough retribution or decent incentives to keepme at it
Starting to feel just a little abused
Like a coffee machine in an office
So I'm gonna go somewhere closer
To get me a lover and tell you about it

There's a she wolf in the closet,
Open up and set it free
There's a she wolf in the closet,
Let it out so it can breathe"

LYRICS
If you could only feel the way that I feel
Ready for the war to come my way
Ya I struggled so know what it takes
The Pressure only builds till it breaks
If you could only feel the way that I feel

You might think it’s somethin’ spiritual

But I’m betting on the
right here
Right now
To hell with all the
Some day
Some how
I’ve waited long enough
Waited long enough
Don’t need a miracle

right here
Right now
To hell with all the
Some day
Some how
I’ve waited long enough
Waited long enough
Don’t need a miracle

You might think it’s somethin’ spiritual
But I don’t
need a fuckin miracle

If you could only see the way that I see
You could find the faith to take the leap
It only took one shot
to prove I’m made not made of glass
There’s no pain you could cause
That won’t eventually pass
If you could only see the way that I see

You'd be betting on the
right here
Right now
To hell with all the
Some day
Some how
I’ve waited long enough
Waited long enough
Don’t need a miracle

right here
Right now
To hell with all the
Some day
Some how
I’ve waited long enough
Waited long enough
Don’t need a miracle

You might think it’s somethin’ spiritual
But I don’t
need a fuckin miracle

No weapon
Formed against me shall prosper
My will is stronger
Stronger

You might think it’s somethin’ spiritual

But I’m betting on the
right here
Right now
To hell with all the
Some day
Some how
I’ve waited long enough
Waited long enough
Don’t need a miracle

right here
Right now
To hell with all the
Some day
Some how
I’ve waited long enough
Waited long enough
Don’t need a miracle

You might think it’s somethin’ spiritual
But I don’t
need a fuckin miracle

I Prevail - Every Time You Leave ft. Delaney Jane

LYRICS:
All I ever wanted was to find someone
But holdin' it together is the hardest part
No one said life gets in the way
That our plans may change but our hearts remain
You stand in the doorway holdin’ me
Feeling the tension, you beg and plead
Not to go away again
And then she said

Every time you leave, I lose a little piece of me
And every time we speak, words don't do it justice
It's just us from here
Here, here
And that’s when she said
Every time you leave, I lose a little piece of me

All I ever wanted was to find someone
But finishing the puzzle is the hardest part
Everyday wishin' you could stay
'Cause our minds may change but our hearts remain
You stand in the doorway holding me
Lost in the moment, I can't believe
You gotta go away again
And when I say

Every time you leave, I lose a little piece of me
And every time we speak, words don't do it justice
It's just us from here
Here, here
And that's when she said
Every time you leave, I lose a little piece of me

'Cause if you ever start to hesitate
And you feel the weight, it starts to break
We’re the not the same
Know that this means everything to me
Oh to me, oh to me, oh to me, oh to me

Every time you leave, I lose a little piece of me
And every time we speak, words don’t do it justice

Every time you leave, I lose a little piece of me
And every time we speak, words don't do it justice
It’s just us from here
Here, here
And that's when she said
Every time you leave, I lose a little piece of me

All I ever wanted was to find someone
But finishing the puzzle is the hardest part
(I lose a little piece of me)
No one said life gets in the way
It's just us from here
Here (I lose a little piece of me)
Here, I lose a little piece of me

Lyrics

I know I shouldn’t call you
but its raining
And you keep sayin
That you’re all alone
But I ain’t with these games you keep on playin
You gone or stayin?
Make up your mind or let me go

You hide it well but I can tell
By the look in your eyes
You were falling to pieces
And with a glance you let me dance
With your greatest disguise
And it’s leaving me sleepless

Back and forth you push and pull me
As I get lost in what we should be

I know I shouldn’t call you
but its raining
And you keep sayin
That you’re all alone
But I ain’t with these games you keep on playin
You gone or stayin?
Make up your mind or let me go

You hide it well but I can tell
By the look in your eyes
(Make up your mind or let me go)
And with a glance you let me dance
With your greatest disguise
(Make up your mind or let me go)

If stars aligned we would be fine
But that’s only in time
And the clock is against me
It’s by design, it’s all a sign
In and out of your mind
And I can’t keep from thinking
I stand here just to fight for nothing
So far gone and you keep running

Ready, Go
Nothing left to lose
Now you have to choose

I know I shouldn’t call you
but its raining
(Rainin)
And you keep sayin
(Sayin)
That you’re all alone
(All alone)
But I ain’t with these games you keep on playin
(Playin)
You gone or stayin?
(Stayin)
Make up your mind or let me go

If stars aligned we would be fine
But that’s only in time
(Make up your mind or let me go)
It’s by design, it’s all a sign
In and out of your mind
(Make up your mind or let me go)
