Today Pixies are arguably the most influential alternative rock band of all time. Bands like Nirvana, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, and Arcade Fire all were heavily influenced by them. They were too weird for even MTV and modern rock radio, but MTV and modern rock radio completely ate up the bands they influenced. It’s paradoxical, because they are both obscure yet also pervasive.

So what is your favorite Pixies song or album? How does their new stuff compared to their old stuff? Do you think they should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Let me know in the comments below. Oh, and my answers to those questions are...My favorite Pixies song is Hey, favorite album is Doolittle, their newer stuff is almost as good as their older stuff, and of course they should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Thanks for watching!

Even today, Pixies are in a category all their own, and they seem more comfortable than they’ve ever been. Hopefully they’ll get weirder and weirder the older they get.

Some report Prince left so much unreleased music behind that he could have released a new album every year for the next century. He was also in the process of writing a memoir before his death.

Prince continues to greatly impact the world. As you watch this, tens of thousands of people around the world are currently listening to a Prince song. He won 8 Grammy Awards, 6 American Music Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and even an Oscar for Purple Rain. To date, Prince has sold over 100 million records worldwide. Around half of those in the United States alone. Today, tsort.info, the most comprehensive collection of popular music data around, ranks Prince has the 16th most successful musical act of all time.
One of the most prolific and accomplished songwriters, producers, and musicians of all-time, Prince Rogers Nelson single handedly changed popular music forever. He invented what became known as “Minneapolis sound,” the mix of funk, R&B, electronic, and rock music that influenced so many who came after him. He was incredibly unique, often demanding everyone in the industry follow him. He never chased trends, he created them. And while the world continues to miss him, he has left so much behind for all of us to continue to enjoy.

Muddy Waters is one of the true icons of the blues. From his childhood in rural 1910's Mississippi to his place at the forefront of the Chicago blues scene, Waters was a first class musician and a profound influence on the electric guitar music that came after him. When the Blues started to peter out in the United States, the first wave of British rock and roll musicians saw Muddy Waters and a primary influence, and were more than happy to collaborate with him on stage and in recordings. Till the day he died, Waters was plugged into popular music, even if he was no longer the driving force behind the newest style. There's a lot more to learn about this 20th century icon. Here's the untold truth of Muddy Waters.

Today’s feature is a group that played a huge role in dictating black American culture for groups, southern acts, the 2010s, and had a chance to be the face of the 2020s as far as the hip hop group, being the last of their kind with longevity, influence and success to back them. But that all ended mid 2022 when rumors started to spread that Offset was either being cut from or leaving the group because of an alleged affair with group member Quavo’s ex girlfriend. Fans Hoped Offset at some point would be welcomed back into the fold and the group continue to make hits, set the trend and influence Culture. Hopes that will never be fulfilled as of November 1st 2022, the coolest, arguably the best as far as rapper Takeoff was shot and killed at a bowling alley in Houston Texas. Video of the incident has been sailing all around the internet, showing Quavo, who was at the event, screaming in agony to have lost not only his group mate and counterpart to his future as a duo, but his actual nephew that been along with him for the ride since literally the beginning. Migos is officially over with this loss in the most tragic way. R.I.P Takeoff. Stunted Growth Music

Today's feature had a hot start and followed that up with more success. She went platinum with all 6 of her albums and looked to continue that success. Then she developed Graves Disease and couldn't put in the work need to keep her in position. For us back in 2002, missy was the Kendrick Lamars and Tyler the Creators creatively and how much she attempted to push the boundaries. She didn’t have to rely on selling her body just to have a flash in the pan hit song, or like some female rappers today that leave nothing to the imagination and still never get that one record. She took a huge hiatus and in that span got sick and couldn't hold her position. In 2022 Missy Elliot is rarely talked about, and for these reasons.
