"The Black Godfather" (The Clarence Avant Story) Conversation Hotney 8 意见 • 4 年前

"The Black Godfather" The Clarence Avant Story Color Of Conversation: Academy Award Nominated Director Reginald Hudlin, Producer Nicole Avant and Professor Skip Gates discuss the Netflix documentary and its main character Nicole's father, Clarence Avant better known as "The Black Godfather". He has been described as the definition of authenticity and integrity and this documentary shows the full man warts and all. This documentary is Clarence's final gift to Black America and is a journey through black American institutions. The intention of the documentary was to showcase a story on using our freedom wisely and doing something with our lives. Professor Skip Gates describes the documentary as the new "48 Laws of Power" and the definition of authenticity.

LYRICS

Fuck everything I did
To feel good for a moment, nothing past
Nothing past

Fuck what I never said
And every door I couldn’t open in the past
Fuck the past

Fuck what I can’t accept
The ugly feelings that I reject but cannot quit
I cannot quit them

Can you leave me out?
Tell me I’m a sore loser
With a bitter heart
I crawl inside and let it take me

A way out, I thought it was

There is no fix, I’m just tender like this
I watch you take me in
Will you love me through this?
Cuz I wanna be cherished by you
I wanna be cherished by you
Not feared by you
I wanna be cherished by you
By you

Ayy, ayy, ayy, uh, ayy
On foenem grave, on GDN
On GDN

[Chorus]
Ayy, they done let the GD's in the door
Ayy, they done let the GD's in the door
Yeah, they done let the GD's in the door
Ayy, they done let the GD's in the door
GD, GD's, GD, GD's
They done let the GD's in the door, ayy, uh
They done let the GD's in the door, ayy, ayy, ayy

[Verse 1]
Trump shouldve freed Larry, fuck is wrong with dude?
Oh, you say you GDK? Fuck is wrong with you?
He say, "'Cause you GDN I can't do no song with you"
"And if the BD's find out, they gon' put me on the news"
I'm likе, "Shut the fuck up, bitch, stop picking sides"
I'm so GD, you can see it in my eyеs
Lately they been seeing the G's on the rise
If they told you something about me, they telling lies
I know some GD's from out West, they block be lit as fuck
I know some GD's from out South, they hop out, blick it up
I got a GD bitch from up North, that bitch thick as fuck
And I got a GD bitch from over East that'll stick you up
I like Maseratis 'cause it got G's on it
Put some bread on your head, yeah, I put G's on it
Yeah, the job gon' get done if them G's on it
I know it hurt to open the door and see G's, don't it?

[Verse 2]
My uncle he a GD, my cousins they some GD's
My brothers they some GD's, so what you think I'm GD?
Baggy clothes with Girbauds, let's make the world GD again
He used to be GD, he flipped BD, now you GD again
Ayy, the GD's up a hundred points
Play with one of them G's, you gon' see a hundred joints
I know some GD's in the county and some in a joint
Ain't no sliding through the G's hood, we be on point
Ayy, bitch ask me how old I am, I told her I'm seven-four
I'ma be GD 'til I die, I hate to let you know
It's a lot of shit going on the world, may never know
I know it hurt to see them G's when you open the door

Lyrics:
My favorite thing about you is you're gone
And I don't have to hear you going on and on and on
My favorite thing about you is I'm no longer around you
Yeah my favorite thing about is you’re gone

My favorite thing about you is you're dead
You're dead to me your soul is every word you ever said
My favorite thing about you is how good I am without you
Yeah my favorite thing about you is you're gone

I used to love the way you kiss me
And now I love the way you miss me
Now I used to pray
Pray you would stay
Stay for so long
Boy I was wrong
Now my favorite thing about you is you're gone

(You’re gone you’re gone you’re gone you’re gone) X5

My favorite thing about you is your eyes
And how they get to watch me walk away from all your lies
My favorite thing about you ain’t the world I built around you
No my favorite thing about you is you're gone

I used to love the way you kiss me
And now I love the way you miss me
Now I used to pray
Pray you would stay
Stay for so long
Boy I was wrong
Now my favorite thing about you is you're gone

(You’re gone you’re gone you’re gone you’re gone) X5

And you're never coming back no more
'And I'm never gonna let you in
'Cause I'm better than I was before
Baby I know you know what you did
And you're never coming back no more
And you're never coming back no more
And you're never coming never coming never coming never coming

My favorite thing about you
My favorite thing about you is you're gone
And I don't have to hear you going on and on and on
My favorite thing about you is I'm no longer around you
My favorite thing about is you’re gone

(You’re so gone)

(You’re gone you’re gone you’re gone you’re gone) X8
