As the hip-hop community continues to mourn the recent loss of beloved rappers Takeoff, PnB Rock, and sadly all the emcees who have gone too soon, it was one artist who felt like most of us with the untimely realities of losing close friends. New York native Desiigner recently went viral after finding out the news of losing Migos rapper Takeoff, and in a vulnerable state, took to his Instagram live to speak with his fans as he expressed his deep pain and desire to leave behind his music career.
Speaking with the Power 106 midday host Bryhana, Desiigner explains why he said he wanted to quit his music career and how losing three of his friends in the industry was affecting him that day. Going on to share that he just wishes to continue to speak positivity and keep an optimistic mindset, the “Panda” phenom also shares why he knew he just wanted people to hear the infectious song.
Desiigner goes on to share his plans for the future which include stepping more into acting and animation, new music with Slim Jxmmi, and much more.

Ahead of the release of his 42nd studio album 'World Record', Neil Young and record producer Rick Rubin sit down with Zane Lowe for an intimate conversation at the iconic Shangri La Studios in Malibu, California.
The album marks the first collaboration between Neil Young and Rick Rubin. They explain the benefits and challenges of recording this album on tape, and debate the pros and cons of digital versus analog methods of making music. Neil expresses the importance of being environmentally conscious, and how that feeling comes alive in this album, specifically in tracks like "Live Earth". Young explains his desire to lead by example and make this project eco-friendly every step of the way, including in touring and creating a live music experience that is as sustainable as possible.

American recording artist, actor and model Chris Brown continues to take the world by storm with his chart topping songs and film appearances. Born in Virginia, he taught himself to sing and dance at a young age and was signed to Jive records in 2004. The following year, he released his self-titled debut solo album which went double platinum. His second album followed suit and was also certified double platinum. In 2009 things turned sour for the artist when he pleaded guilty to felony assault of singer and girlfriend Rihanna. He was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community service. Since then his fifth music album was not so well received by music critics, however he has managed to stay in the limelight by featuring in various films and modeling. Including interviews from industry experts, video footage of some of his greatest hits including Run it, Kiss Kiss, No Air and Turn Up the Music, this DVD tells us the incredible story of Chris Browns rise to fame.

Growing up in Kingston, Jamaica, Sean Paul Henriques fell in love with dancehall music, but never imagined he’d one day become the genre’s most internationally renowned artist. After years of building a fanbase in Jamaica and the diaspora, his second album, Dutty Rock, became a make-or-break opportunity to prove that dancehall beats could transcend culture and break into the pop mainstream. He accomplished that and more with the timeless party anthem, “Get Busy”, accompanied by producer Steven ‘Lenky’ Marsden’s legendary Diwali Riddim as the track’s foundation. VICE met up with Sean Paul in Kingston to learn about his signature fusion of Jamaican Patois and hip-hop slang, how his upbringing influenced his musical style, and the legacy of the first-ever dancehall song to top the international charts.
