Let's warm up for Friday, 11 November when we get to experience Reinier Zonneveld masterful skills behind the decks LIVE at No Sleep Festival!

EXIT is the two-time winner of the “Best Major European Festival” award and is continuously recognized by global music stars, fans, and the media alike.

Held each year at the 18th century colossal Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad in Serbia, EXIT started as a student movement whose massive protests brought down the oppressive regime in Serbia. EXIT became the first mass event to gather people from all over the Balkans after a long decade of divisions.

In 2021, the festival marked its 20th anniversary and went down in history as the first major festival in Europe to take place after the pandemic, with over 180,000 music lovers from more than 70 countries.

Celebrated as a place where hedonism meets activism, it is the social relevance of EXIT that has made it unique and globally recognized, hosting stars like Pet Shop Boys, Billy Idol, The Cure, The Killers, Guns N’ Roses, Franz Ferdinand, Motörhead, Iggy Pop, David Guetta, Massive Attack, Liam Gallagher, Grace Jones, Fatboy Slim, Cypress Hill, Beastie Boys, Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan, The Prodigy, Migos, Sex Pistols, Kraftwerk, Korn, Moby, Arctic Monkeys, Chemical Brothers, Faith No More, LCD Soundsystem, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Pulp, Jamiroquai, M.I.A., Slayer, Ellie Goulding, Hardwell, Avicii, and many others.

EXIT’s Dance Arena is considered as one of the best and biggest dance floors in the world. It would've been wonderful to have a live stream or official recording to look back on but... when none exists you gotta make one yourself! (I'm personally glad that "Trying to Feel Alive" is Porter's favorite song he's ever written)

Discussion:
- the Moire effect causing the LED-ness of the presentation to show seems to occur at or above 600 shutter
- you can see me adjusting the exposure from time to time--lights and LED visuals don't expose the same way so a humanly bright light show will still need high exposure to be visible
- audio has NOT been EQ'd like the Madeon Frost set--it's clear that the general public values speed rather than refinement

Why do I record? I'm an audio person, not here for the visuals. If the artist doesn't have a full audio line-in recording, I gotta make it for myself. If I could have it my way, I'd never attend a single live (electronic) concert. XD

Personally I loved this set, especially the CDJ mishap in the middle. It really reinforces the idea that this is all a live performance art and it's never a guarantee that things go perfectly.
