This is the second tape from my archive that I recorded myself in New York at the end of December 1990. It's the following day from the last one, December 29th 1990 and Kool DJ Red Alert is going way back with some more classic old school joints. Amazing reaction for the first tape. Hope you enjoy this one too. Subscribe and like, buy me a coffee or check my other music and social links below if you are interested in some of the other stuff I do. Thanks for tuning in.

In early 80s Michael Jackson befriended the Stein family which consisted of Glenda, Sam (her husband) and their two kids. Michael had lengthy phone conversations with them and especially with Glenda. At some point, Sam gets jealous and suspicious and hires a detective to record his phone calls. Turns out nothing was going on between Michael and Glenda. The tapes were later sold by Glenda's son, Damien, to a guy named David Hands Shmidt. David was unable to sell these tapes so, he leaked them one by one on his website. (Hansnew.com)
It is indeed sad that MJ couldn't trust anyone however, I think these tapes include very revealing and important details about who Michael was and what kind of a person he was and I know some fans may find it boring to listen to all 15 parts (which are all on youtube by the way) so, I picked some of the most touching, revealing and also funniest parts too.
Things to learn about listening to Glenda tapes:
1. MJ was not only not **** or whatever they wanted to label him, but he is actually very straight and in pursuit of finding a meaningful relationship.
2.MJ could be hella funny and shady in private. It's endearing seeing (hearing) him like that!
3. He is very sensitive and considerate of people around him.
4. Tape number 11 and 13 are his conversations with Glenda's kids. Just listening to them, you can see what was the nature of his interactions with kids. Just like a father figure (I haven't included them here.)

On 18th July 1996, two days after he had performed a full birthday concert for the Sultan in Brunei, Michael Jackson came to South Afrika. Michael landed in Johannesburg, attended the 78th birthday celebration of back then South African president Nelson Mandela and later laid a wreath at a memorial in the black township of Soweto. On 19th July, Michael gave a speech in Sun City to announce the South African dates of the HIStory Tour in 1997. Before he left the country on 20th July 1996, Michael gave a short press conference together with Nelson Mandela in Pretoria.

A bit more complete transcript of Michael's speech in Sun City (thanks to @deserveMjj at Facebook):
Michael Jackson: "We are behaving like people without compassion and love for the most vulnerable section of society. The children of the universe are without a spokesperson, they are voiceless. We are all touched by the atrocities committed against children: sexual, physical abuse, child slave labor, educational neglect. We feel ashamed, Angry, Appalled. But there is no action No action.", Michael declares. At the press conference also, he gives an emotional discourse to the people of South Africa: “First, I would like to say, sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, you have no idea how happy and honored I am to be here in South Africa. The people here have been so kind to me their love, their generosity, the hospitality has been overwhelming. I mean, I’m saying this from the bottom of my heart, ‘cause I really mean it. And I’m not wearing these glasses to be Mr. Cool, I wear these glasses because they are a facade, so you won’t have to see my tears ... [voice choking with emotions] ... I’m so happy to be here and you all have been so wonderful to me and I want to thank you so much and I thank you for coming to Sun City. I would like to take this opportunity to thank president Nelson Mandela and the wonderful people of South Africa for this gracious, really gracious welcome to your wonderful country. I just love it. I love it so much, I’m looking for a house to buy here [laughs]… I would like to thank the wonderful wonderful (inaudible) and the staff and its hospitality and hosting this conference. And I’m sorry I was not able to play South Africa dates previously, because I was so much looking forward to coming here. But now I am really excited about bringing the HIStory Tour – a brand new show, the HIStory Tour to South Africa. We are in negotiations right now, with promoters now and, but we’re playing South Africa in mid January 1997, in Capetown, in Durban and Johannesburg. My promoter, Mr. Marcel Avram is here today to announce additional dates and answer any questions you may have regarding the HIStory World Tour. I love you from the bottom of my heart and I thank you so much for your wonderful wonderful opportunity. Thank you.”

He''s like a father and there is no inappropriate conduct by Michael. "

STORYLINE

A family now accusing Michael Jackson of child molestation was on Friday seen by jurors in a video praising him as a father figure, and the sister of the accuser testified under cross-examination that she had accused her own father of molesting her after her mother made the allegation.

Prosecutors showed jurors the video, which they claim was a staged and scripted response to a damaging documentary about Jackson.

"God worked through Michael to help us," the mother of the accuser said in the video, adding: "When we saw no hope, Michael said there was hope. ... We were broken and Michael fixed us."

As the pop star left court for the weekend after the trial''s first week of testimony, he told reporters: "It went very good, very good."

When asked about Michael Jackson''s mood, Jackson family spokesperson said that "right now his mood is good".

The video was played during testimony by the accuser''s 18-year-old sister, who told jurors on Thursday that Jackson''s associates had the family make the tape.

It was made about two weeks after a 2003 TV documentary in which her brother appeared with Jackson, who said he allowed the boy to sleep in his
bed while he slept on the floor.

During cross-examination intended to call the credibility of the accuser''s family into question, the witness acknowledged accusing her father, who is
divorced from her mother, of sexually abusing and imprisoning her and of making terrorist threats.

Jackson attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. asked the young woman if she had once told police she was being abused by her father five times a week, and she answered, "We were abused every day."

Mesereau asked if the father appeared to agree with the accusation, and she said yes.
