CHATTANOOGA CHOO CHOO Glenn Miller Version THE SWING ERA (STEREO) Vocals Tex Beneke & Modernaire
The TIME/LIFE "SWING ERA" Remake of CHATTANOOGA CHOO CHOO by Bill May and his Orchestra. A 14 album set containing 2 CD's each was made by TIME/LIFE that depicted the various STEREO REMAKES of songs made famous by the BIG BANDS of the 1930's and 1940's such as Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Harry James, and many others. Most of the remakes were performed by Bill May and his Orchestra and Glen Gray and the CASA LOMA ORCHESTRA. In this remake, Tex Beneke and the Modernaires perform the vocals just as they did with Glenn Miller, and this version is truly the BEST remake of this tune by far.
For you music history buffs, Glenn Miller was THE FIRST to receive the GOLD RECORD AWARD which was for Chattanooga Choo Choo.
