Today’s artist isn’t exactly a one-hit wonder – her songs were never really big enough to class her in that category; but still, she dropped one album before dropping off entirely. Most well-known for her Gold-Certified rap single Lip Gloss in 2007 and similarly certified follow up Shawty Get Loose with Chris Brown; Lil Mama dropped just one album; titled VYP (Voice of the Young People) in 2008. After her instant one-off success; she kicked around dropping several more singles before calling it a day and switching careers entirely in 2011. Her flow may have been slightly stilted but it displayed a surprising amount of natural talent for such a young age; reminiscent of the Nicki’s and Cardi’s of today – so why did she leave the Rap game and where did she go? Let’s break it down.
