In 1978, The Residents launched "DUCK STAB!" as a seven-inch EP, marking a departure from their more experimental Eskimo recordings that spanned the years 1975 to 1979. Surprisingly, the EP became a hit, selling 50,000 copies in mere months. The overwhelming demand led the group's label, Ralph, to compel them to record a second EP, "Buster & Glen," ultimately combining it with "DUCK STAB!" to create a successful LP. In honor of the 40th anniversary of the iconic alternative TV show 'Night Flight,' The Residents crafted a program featuring a live rendition of "DUCK STAB!"—already in rehearsal for their upcoming 50th Anniversary Tour, DOG STAB!
