The TRAGIC Truth About Hi-Five — Teen Pregnancy, Bad Contract, So Many Losses 💔 Hotney 3 Streams • 4 years ago

When you think of the 90’s R&B sound, a group that probably comes to mind is Hi-Five. The group seemed destined to be prominent figures of the New Jack Swing era, especially after the release of their 1990 chart-topping single, “I Like the Way (The Kissing Game).” Although they blessed us with five studio albums and continued releasing music well into the 2000s, the group suffered multiple setbacks.

Lyrics:

Now the world is still
It's just been spinning out
Trapped inside my head
Feeling numb
And there's no song to sing
To save me from myself

Fading into black

We're all fighters, holding up our lighters
Chasing off the monsters, drowning in our sins
With every last breath, try to stop the sunset
Running with the shadows, darkness always wins

I make the same mistakes
And I can't change my ways
It's how I've always been
It's in my bones, a heart of stone
The cold, cold's creeping in

I'm fading into black

We're all fighters, holding up our lighters
Chasing off the monsters, drowning in our sins
With every last breath, try to stop the sunset
Running with the shadows, darkness always wins
Darkness always wins

Yeah

Yeah, oh-oh
Yeah, oh-oh
Yeah, oh-oh, oh, oh
Yeah, oh-oh
Yeah, oh-oh
Yeah, oh-oh, oh, oh

We're all fighters, holding up our lighters
Chasing off the monsters, drowning in our sins
With every last breath, try to stop the sunset
Running with the shadows, darkness always wins
We're all fighters, holding up our lighters
Chasing off the monsters, drowning in our sins
With every last breath, try to stop the sunset
Running with the shadows, darkness always wins
Darkness always wins
(Oh, oh-oh-oh-oh)
