Lyrics:
Gimmegimmegimme… what I want, what I want
Gimmegimmegimme… what I want, what I want
Want, everything I want
Is everything you got
So knock before you come, over
Relax, walk before you run
Your eyes on my dun dun dun dun
I need you to come, closer
Voyeurs are watching us
Giving me such a rush
When I’m crazy and drunk on love
Gimme what I want, gimme what I want, yeah
Gimmegimmegimme… what I want, what I want
Gimmegimmegimme… what I want, what I want
Oh when mi pull up in a place yuh fi see mi see mi
Got what mi want and what yuh got yuh better gimme gimme
Mi rock yuh body ooh suh go rock yuh body fi mi
Come over yah so may mi push yuh body to the limit
Let me know, give me what I need

Give me love, don’t need no money
So pull me closer actually
Voyeurs are watching us
Giving me such a rush
When I’m crazy and drunk on love, love
Gimme what I want, gimme what I want
Gimmegimmegimme… what I want, what I want
Gimmegimmegimme… what I want, what I want
Voyeurs are watching us
Giving me such a rush
When I’m crazy and drunk on love, love
Gimme what I want, gimme what I want
Gimmegimmegimme… what I want, what I want
Gimmegimmegimme… what I want, what I want

Nas Ether Original Version (Unreleased Lyrics - King's Disease 3), JAY-Z Vs. Nas Beef Analysis Part 2, Evolution Of Disstracks - Hip-Hop Universe
The feud between Nas and JAY-Z was a gladiatorial battle between two rap titans. They started off with subliminal jabs and moved up to body sh*ts. Fans cheered on. Crews got in the mix. Things got so personal that parents had to step in. Thankfully, the battle didn't end in tragedy like Biggie vs. 2Pac. It ended in triumph and friendship. JAY-Z and Nas would later shake hands and join forces.
JAY-Z Vs. Nas Beef Analysis: https://youtu.be/Bt4NDjkZ5pY
Large Professor said there was a more "Malicious" version of Ether produced by Swizz Beatz & featured the line, "It should've been you in that plane crash" (referring to the plane crash Aaliyah died in)
Apparently the original version of "Ether" made by Nas, was much more aggressive and harsher than the one we have all heard. And obviously it has even better lines than the original.
Because Colombia asked him up to 3 times to edit the songs, that is probably the big reason why in certain points of Ether sounds like Nas is filling in spaces. This video covers the 2 leaked verses in text form.
Carmen Bryan opened up to VladTV in an exclusive interview about being at the center of Jay Z and Nas' legendary beef. She explained that after breaking up with and moving away from Nas, she started dating Jay Z after first becoming friends.
During the conversation, Carmen shut down rumors that Memphis Bleek started the beef, as she said she feels bad for Bleek and blames Jay Z for ending his career. Carmen also revealed that she confronted both Jay Z and Nas about the beef.
Let's backtrack to an earlier time when JAY Z and NaS vied for New York supremacy in one of the greatest hip-hop battles of all time.
The beef escalated in 2001. Jay launches his first direct attack on Nas at Hot 97 FM's 2001 Summer Jam. Jay calls out Nas with one suave bar at the end of "Takeover": "Ask Nas, he don't want it with Hov. NO."
Nas swiftly responds with a scathing freestyle over Eric B & Rakim's "Paid in Full." On the freestyle later dubbed "Stillmatic" (aka "H to the Omo"), Nas runs through a list of charges against Jay. According to Nas, Jay is a fake hustler, a liar, a phony. Nas questions Jay Z's s*xuality, dubs him the "fake King of New York" and mocks him for sampling his songs ("I count off when you sample my voice.")
Jay Z couldn't have wished for a better response. He knew Nas would take the bait. So Jay returns to "Takeover" and tacks on the final verse he'd been saving for Nas with a few alterations.
Cooly riding the bassline is Jay Z. Jay explains with biting wit that Nas and Prodigy are fake thugs who lie about their rep. After two full verses of Mobb Deep disses, Jay Z turns his attention to Nas for the next 32 bars. With scholarly focus, Jay Z outshines Nas' earlier attacks on "Stillmatic" Freestyle while launching a few missiles of his own.
Nas dubbed Jay a fake hustler. Jay replies that Nas didn't live the street life, he "witnessed from his folks pad." He adds that Nas had never seen a TEC-9 until Jay showed him one while on tour with Large Professor. Large Pro would (somewhat) confirm this story later.
Nas said he "counts off" when Jay Z samples his songs. Jay replies that Nas made it a hot line, but he (Jay Z) made it a hot song.
One of the most powerful lines on "Takeover" arrives on the third verse: "Because you know who did you know what with you know who/But let's keep that between me and you." Only three people know what Jay is talking about here: Jay Z, Nas and You-know-who. Jay is baiting Nas, daring him to respond.
Not responding wasn't even an option for Nas. The only question remaining is "How do you recover respond to a song as effective as 'Takeover'?"
"Ether" cracks the streets of New York with a 38 Special. You hear gunshots, then a chopped and screwed 2Pac barking, "F-ck Jay Z." And with that, Nas dives right into a long list of insults. He calls Jay Z a "stan," mocks his Roc-a-Fella crew and questions his loyalty to Biggie Smalls ("Biggie's your man, then you got the nerve to say that you're better than Big.")

Actress and singer/songwriter Naturi Naughton-Lewis’ greatest trials have become her greatest triumphs. Ashley and Naturi chart the multi-hyphenate’s groundbreaking career: from discovering her singing gift in church to catapulting to stardom after signing on as the final member of platinum-selling girl group 3LW. The two-time NAACP Award winning actress recounts making the difficult decision to leave the singing group at its height, and details a decade spent wrestling with naysayers and her own doubts. All the while, Naturi held on to the unwavering belief that her best days were ahead of her. The New Jersey native emerged from those trying times as a decorated actress with credits in Hairspray on Broadway, the blockbuster film Notorious, and the hit television show Power. Now a newlywed, she opens up about finding love after a season of heartbreak and learning to embrace her light and love herself after years in an industry that devalues dark-skinned women. Naturi also gives Ashley the exclusive on her recent heart-to-heart with former 3LW bandmate Adrienne Bailon and how they’re choosing to “lead by example” by rekindling their friendship as adults 20 years later.

I caught up with Can't Swim's tour manager, Charlie Caruso, to chat about what his job entails.
A huge shoutout to Charlie for being so cool about being interviewed while actually working haha :)
I left this as sort of a longer piece with hopes that people who are interested in pursuing tour managing could digest all the information.
Enjoy!

Today’s feature was inspired by the thought of doing dancehall artist Sean Paul, who when you speak about the history of the genre at all, you have to mention his reign and importance to bringing dancehall music to the forefront of popular music on a worldwide stage, and the success like non other he’s been able to have on western music early in the 21st century. Sean couldn’t have come at a more better fitting time, as dancehall music was peaking around the early 2000s, then here comes this mixed colored artist with braids, but could also be confused for hispanic. He hit every market and gave dancehall its biggest look ever. I still remember when “Gimmie da light” came out and have everyone one the dance floor in the function doing whatever the new dances were in the music videos. Sure you’ve had this artist and that artist come after the Sean Paul era, but I’d say in the last 15 years, Dancehall music has been as dead as radio. What Happened To Dancehall music? Did It Go TOO Pop? Stunted Growth Music.

Emerging from Memphis, TN, Pooh Shiesty pops off with an intense and inimitable presence. Pooh Shiesty snakes through airy beats with a venomous bite and slick melodies. Racking up millions of streams and views independently, Pooh Sheisty strikes at the most unexpected moments on a series of 2020 singles and his debut for Gucci Mane’s 1017 and Atlantic Records. “You never know what I’m going to say next,” Pooh Shiesty exclaims. “Everybody has their own path. I just made the best of what I had. I’m unpredictable and unexpected.” Hip-hop instantly spoke to him as a kid. His father founded the Memphis-based Mob Ties Records and rapped under the name Mob Boss. In addition to listening to the likes of Lil Wayne, Meek Mill, Gucci Mane, and Kodak Black, Pooh Shiesty spent countless hours watching his dad in the studio. In school, Pooh exuded a magnetic charisma, drawing a crowd to him at all times. Simultaneously, trouble consistently found him. Nevertheless, music served as a refuge. Launching the Choppa Gang crew, Pooh Shiesty perfected his wordplay by taking any opportunity to freestyle either in the lunchroom, in his neighborhood, or online. Leaving Memphis for two years, Pooh Shiesty resided in Pflugerville, TX with his mom and learned how to adapt to new circumstances and surroundings. Upon returning to Memphis, he put his head down, attended summer school and online classes in order to graduate high school, and focused on music at 18-years-old. “My dad didn’t expect me to rap, but when I did, he helped me,” he says. “He taught me how to put my pain into what I’m doing.” That’s exactly what Pooh did. After showing out on tracks like “Breakin News,” “Hell Night” [feat. Big 30], and “Choppa Talk” [feat. Big 30], he incited buzz with “Shiesty Summer” during 2019. Right out of the gate, it posted up 321K Spotify streams and 1.5 million views. Meanwhile, “7.62 God” surpassed 1.8 million views followed by “Day One” with 1.6 million views. As his audience grew, hip-hop legend Gucci Mane sent him a direct message on Instagram on April, 10, 2020. Shortly after, the icon offered him a deal. “I was cooling at the house, and I got a text,” he recalls. “Gucci was like, ‘I’m listening to your stuff. You’re hard. Are you signed?’ I told him I was by myself and sent him my number. We locked in from there. It’s the perfect situation. Gucci understood it. It worked all around the board.” On his 2020 single “Main Slime” and its official remix featuring Moneybagg Yo and Tay Keith, his unbreakable flows immediately captivate. Pooh Shiesty provokes with raw confessions such as, “I know I’m gonna make it out, but lately I’ve been feeling trapped.” “We’re going through these horrors, and everybody is messed up,” he observes. “I felt like I had something to prove. I couldn’t play on that beat. I had to go at it. When you hear the song, you take your shirt off and scream.” As he prepares more music, Pooh Shiesty delivers a sound as raw as his hometown. “Ain’t nobody messing with me,” he smiles. “I’m going into this hard like I was always meant to.”

Los Angeles, California
1991
Two friends who had known each other since the sixth grade, Zack de la Rocha and Tim Commerford, meet a drummer named Jon Knox. Knox told them that his old bandmate, Tom Morello, was looking to start a new band after their old band, Lock Up, had broken up. Morello invited de la Rocha and Commerford, as well as a drummer named Brad Wilk, for a jam session. De la Rocha and Commerford actually used to be in a band together back in junior high, but other than that, the four had never played together before. The jam session turned into multiple jam sessions, and the next thing ya know, they had a band. De la Rocha would be the vocalist and provide the lyrics, which would undoubtedly be politically charged most of the time. By the way, he had been in multiple bands before this. Morello would play guitar. Commerford would play bass. Wilk would play drums.
They named themselves “Rage Against the Machine.” Apparently that name was originally supposed to be the name of a song and album de la Rocha had written for his previous band, Inside Out. Apparently this dude named Kent McClard also coined the phrase in a 1989 article in his zine called No Answers. Regardless, over the years many of their fans would come to view “The Machine” as any system or organization that was responsible for injustice in the world. “Rage Against the Machine” ended up being a pretty fitting name.
Their first performance was in “somebody’s living room” in Orange County, California. After that, they quickly gained a following. Not wasting any time, they recorded a 12-song demo, releasing it on cassette tape in December 1991. Throughout early 1992, the band sold the tape for $5 at their live shows, eventually selling more than 5,000 copies of them. Oh by the way, if you have one of them, ya might want to hold on to it. I saw one sold online for hundreds of dollars.
Anyway, the artwork featured images of stock market reports with a single match. The band also printed the statement “No samples, keyboards or synthesizers used in the making of this recording,” which would be printed on all later recordings they released. In the liner notes, they also referred to themselves as “Guilty Parties,” which would also be printed for all later recordings they released.
Oh, and they also sent the demo album to many major record labels, and while several wanted to sign them, they ended up signing with Epic Records. In April, they recorded their debut album at Sound City Studios in L.A. They ended up re-recording seven of the twelve songs that were on their demo. De la Rocha wrote the lyrics, which were obviously politically motivated and attacked multinational corporations, cultural imperialism, and government oppression. They seemed to represent a leftist voice that had become less prominent in the 1990s. Tom Morello’s guitar work was inventive, to say the least. In the studio, he was constantly experimenting with the weird new sounds his guitars could make. Garth Richardson produced. After leaving the studio, the band hit the road, playing a notable show opening for Porno for Pyros at one of their first ever gigs. In October, they toured Europe, and by that time the hype for them was already building.
Epic released their self-titled debut studio album on November 3, 1992. The first single, “Killing in the Name” ended up being a huge radio hit.

Dubai, also spelled Dubayy, city and capital of the emirate of Dubai, one of the wealthiest of the seven emirates that constitute the federation of the United Arab Emirates. It has the second most five-star hotels in the world and the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa. Dubai's topography mainly consists of fine, white sandy deserts and a flat coastline. East of the city, however, there are sand dunes that are made up of darker reddish sand. Farther east from Dubai is the Hajjar Mountains which are rugged and undeveloped. The climate of Dubai is considered hot and arid. Most days are sunny throughout the year. The coldest winter month is usually January, with lows of about 15 °C, while the hottest summer month is July, with highs of more than 40 °C.

30 years ago, bassist Wade Summerlin anchored this aggressive John Zorn-like jazz rock hybrid band SHOVIN' SHUNSHINE with his funky basslines. DEATH JAZZ was the name of the album, and the concept. The band broke up, but death jazz fans kept begging for a re-release. Now Wade's back to talk about the bands re-release of their 2002 classic from these ROCK JAZZ FUSION LEGENDS. WILL IT BE VINYL??? TUNE IN to find out!!!

This is the story of Shovin' Sunshine. Three musicians, Wade Summerlin, Jeremy Slotin, and Billy Shaw got together to experiment with new forms of jazz and the Avant Garde. Wade and Jeremy had been loosely playing together in thrash and death metal groups; Billy was coming back East after releasing his debut avant garde album called "Sassy". They got together in Jeremy's basement and started the experiment that became known as "Shovin' Sunshine", the very first and perhaps only Death Jazz group ever. They wanted to use the term acid jazz, but that same year a number of more currently influential players were using the label, and between their sound and the identification of this term to their music, Shovin' Sunshine wasn't convinced that it accurately described what Shovin' Sunshine was all about. So with little hesitation and even less dissent, the group chose to define and pursue the theory and tradition of Death Jazz.
The technical approach to the production of music was not particularly groundbreaking; the group was after clear, undistorted representation of fairly conventional instrumentation: Jeremy on drums, Wade on electric fretted four-string bass, and Billy on tenor sax. The approach to the creation of the music was what set this trio apart; Billy usually charted out melodies and arrangements in advance, he seldom ever shared the direction with the rest of the band. Fortunately, everyone seemed to think the same thoughts at pretty much the same time, and reasonably tight arrangements emerged from basically extemporaneous improvisations, all of which was taped. In fact, every time the band ever played the music was committed to tape.
Regrettably (and we really do mean this in the most profound sense of the word), the band didn't stay together longer than a summer. During that time though, a number of live gigs were performed, and many hours of tape were accumulated. The group dispersed to their respective interests, most notably Wade, who formed the seminal Cobweb Strange. Jeremy went to music school and Billy moved to Florida (where as it were, he ended up in music school as well) where he continued to pursue his form of avant (and later chucked it all to return to Bluegrass and what became Contemporary Mountain and Prairie and a series of acoustic pseudo-country music compositions that began to characterize his music publicly as anything but avant garde jazz).
So twelve years go by, and there wasn't much Shovin' of Sunshine. But Wade and Billy got in touch with each other recently and decided that at the least, Shovin' Sunshine still interested enough people to warrant a permanent place of its own in virtual space. Unknown to anyone else, Billy had continued to evaluate, arrange, and master the raw tapes, and continues to do so, including ongoing digitization and web-based access. What this means to the Shovin' Sunshine fan is that all of the originally released and newly available material is going to be re-released on high-quality CD and in digital format over the web. The quality of the original tapes has always been considered superb. Production and distribution in today's digital formats with modern capabilities is going to kick total ass; we're all pretty excited about this and we think that you will be too, once you hear some of what we have to offer.
So, here's the plan. We're going to be re-releasing Shovin' Sunshine's original studio recording Fire-A-Go-Go digitally remastered on CD, to be available through the Atlanta-based Genterine Records; some of our favorites from that album will be available both here at this web site and at the new Shovin' Sunshine web site being sponsored by Genterine Records. Next, we're going to release the first new Shovin' Sunshine recording in over a decade, recorded live at the Liquid Bean in 1993.

G-Eazy has also had several hit songs, including "Me, Myself & I," "No Limit," and "Him & I." He has also acted in a few films and television shows.
How did G-Eazy’s career start? G-Eazy's career started when he released his first mixtape, "The Endless Summer," in 2011.
