In late 2009 a successful campaign was launched by Jon Morter and his then wife Tracy to promote an alternative to the omnipresent X-Factor winner being the Christmas #1 in the UK singles chart. The track they nominated as the alternative was “Killing In The Name” by Rage Against The Machine. The band supported the campaign, donated the proceeds from the sales to charity and lead singer Zack de la Rocha promised that Rage Against The Machine would perform a free concert in the UK to celebrate the achievement. This went ahead in London’s Finsbury Park on 6th June 2010 and is captured on this film. It is an exuberant performance by the band with the audience cheering them all the way to the inevitable climax of “Killing In The Name”.

Das Quintett um Gitarrist/Sänger William Turner und Sängerin Georgie Fuller ist selbstbewusst retro. The Heavy Heavy machen Rock'n'Roll in reinster Form, zeitlos interpretiert und voller Spielfreude.
Die Band aus Brighton trat an mit dem Ziel, "Platten aufzunehmen, die wie unsere eigenen Lieblingsplatten klingen". Der gemeinsame Nenner: Ein Mix aus Psychedelic und Blues Rock, dargereicht mit viel Reverb. Georgie Fuller singt dabei, als hätte sie den Blues schon als Baby mit Löffeln serviert bekommen. Die musikalischen Vorbilder der Band sind deutlich herauszuhören: die frühen Fleetwood Mac, die Stones, Led Zeppelin, 60s-Pop und britischer Folk Pop.
William Turner kommt aus dem Städtchen Malvern, einem verwunschenen Heilbad im Westen Englands, wo sich früher auch Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin und Kate Bush die Klinke in die Hand gegeben haben sollen – in der Romantisierung der keltischen Vergangenheit Englands mit all seinen Druiden und Zauberern. Georgie Fuller wiederum hat einen Jazz-Hintergrund und sang schon als Teenagerin beim Montreux Jazz Festival. Seit die Combo zum Quintett gewachsen ist, ist eine große Menge an Songs entstanden und aufgenommen worden, die nur darauf wartet, entdeckt zu werden.

In this full-length interview, R&B veteran Donell Jones talks about growing up on the Southside of Chicago, gang banging, and getting arrested for armed robbery at the age of 15. Donell then explained that the OGs kept things under control while growing up in Chicago, in comparison to the “chaos” in the city today. Moving along, he spoke about his father being a pastor and also inspiring his love of music, along with his grandparents and mother.

As the conversation continues, the 49-year-old reflects back on connecting with Heavy D's former DJ and legendary record producer named Eddie F (from Untouchable Entertainment and LaFace Records), writing music for Usher's album, and signing to one of the hottest R&B labels in the country.

Moving along, Donell shares his reaction to the news of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes' passing back in 2002. From there, he spoke about his song “Where I Wanna Be,” which he said was a true story about his position dealing with fame while in a relationship. As the Q&A continues, he shares some insight on the release of his fourth album "Journey of the Gemini" and working with the Clipse before sharing speaking on R. Kelly's legal predicament.

Lastly, Donell talks about the thought process behind his "Free" album before revealing the name of his next album will be titled "Elevate." From there, the Chicago songwriter states that he is currently working on an LP with fellow Chicago natives Dave Hollister and Karl Thomas as a part of a new group that they recently created together called "Chi.

Due November 10 via Craft Recordings, the remastered album will be available in a variety of formats, the most extensive of which is the Deluxe Anniversary Edition, which will feature the album in its entirety mixed in Dolby Atmos.

The album (plus bonus track “Photograph,” featuring Natalie Merchant) was remixed in Dolby Atmos by Automatic’s original producer, Scott Litt, and engineer, Clif Norrell. This technology delivers a leap forward from surround sound with expansive, flowing audio that immerses the listener far beyond what stereo can offer. It transports the listener inside the recording studio with multi-dimensional audio – evoking a time when listening to music was an active, transformative experience, and reigniting the emotion you felt when you first heard the album in 1992. R.E.M.’s Automatic For The People is the first album to be commercially released in this expressive, breathtaking format.

In addition, the 4-disc Deluxe Edition will offer a wealth of previously unreleased material. The band selected 20 never-before-heard demos from the LP’s sessions, including the fully-realized, unreleased track “Mike’s Pop Song” and the oft-mused about song, “Devil Rides Backwards.”
