Lyrics:
I'ma rap to you real quick
I wanna enjoy the luxury of like
Not knowing each other for real
Hol' up
Lotus flower bombfirefly
When I'm low, she take me high
I can teach you all the sounds of love

Flowerbomb, let me guess your favorite fragrance
And you got that bomb, huh, I'm tryna detonate you
No disrespecting baby, just tryna make you smile
Try to keep my spirits up, that's why I lays it down
Try to keep your spirits up, lil vodka whatever
Took you forever to get dressed, I acknowledge your effort
So I clap for her, she deserves an applause
Shawty working so hard, she deserve that Vuitton
Shawty where your baton, racing through my mind like
She heard that I got that work, I heard that she been on strike
Care to tell, I read your mind, she been on them dollars first
Caramel macchiatos when shawty get into work
I can be your boyfriend, be your nigga or a friend with perks
I'm just tryna work that huh, they just tryna work your nerves
I'm just tryna read your mind, I'm just tryna feed you mine
I'm just tryna give you light, they just tryna leave you blind

We're living in a fantasy
I feel it when you dance with me
It's feeling like you need to be
My lady, my baby, yeah
Can't you see
I'm talking about eternity
Tell me would you care to be
My lady, my baby

Flower bomb, can I blow up on your mind
This is not no Sandra Bull, but you're Potion #9
Navigating through her eyes, destination to her thighs
And I hate to tell you too much, 'cause I stay with too much pride
And we way too young to know love, maybe not but we don't need no rush
Don't believe in love at first sight, but I believe in love at firsthuh
Can I be with you just one night, I could wear you out inside
I could tell you like persistence, but I make you cum in tri's
I just think we need one night, can't decide if I came right
Easy baby my thing tight, but that lotus flower just ain't right
I ain't thinking I ain't right, can't decide but I can't fight
Easy baby, you the bomb and all, but I be damned if I do not land mine
Or at least try, can I speak up? was it peace out? can we eat lunch?
Can we take shots? What's your flavor? Flat drinks we call A cups
I just think I need one night, slightly more if it's done right
With that gorgeous face, I don't know your name, it ain't important babe 'cause I'ma call you Mine

We're living in a fantasy
I feel it when you dance with me
It's feeling like you need to be
My lady, my baby, yeah
Can't you see
I'm talking about eternity
Tell me would you care to be
My lady, my baby

'Cause I don’t know you, you don’t know me
The clock keeps ticking baby what's it gonna be
I don’t know you, you don’t know me
Let me teach you all the sounds of love

Ahhhh, ayyyyy, eeeeee, ahh ohh ooo
Baby this was for you, lotus

Retrospective look at the life and work of Jeff Buckley, marking the 5th anniversary of the American musician's premature death at the age of 30. Contains rare archive footage of Jeff in both interviews and performances, as well as clips from family members, friends, work associates, and celebrity fans. Other material includes early childhood photos, news reports on the drowning tragedy, and background on estranged father, Tim Buckley.

Jeff Buckley, a prodigiously talented guitarist and songwriter, drowned accidentally in 1997 at the age of 30.

Actor Brad Pitt, fellow musicians (Jimmy Page, Chrissie Hynde, Elizabeth Fraser, Patti Smith, among others) and Buckley's mother are among those contributing to this portrait of a cult performer who, with his 1994 album Grace, emerged as one of the most acclaimed, eclectic and original rock artists of recent times.

LYRICS:

The whispers in the morning
Of lovers sleeping tight
Are rolling like thunder now
As I look in your eyes

I hold on to your body
And feel each move you make
Your voice is warm and tender
A love that I could not forsake

Cause I am your lady
And you are my man
Whenever you reach for me
I’ll do all that I can

Lost is how I’m feeling lying in your arms
When the world outside’s too
Much to take
That all ends when I’m with you

Even though there may be times
It seems I’m far away
Never wonder where I am
‘Cause I am always by your side

We’re heading for something
Somewhere I’ve never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But I’m ready to learn
Of the power of love

The sound of your heart beating
Made it clear
Suddenly the feeling that I can’t go on
Is light years away

Donne-moi ton cœur
Ta main et le reste
Donne-moi c’que tu es
C’que tu es
Dis-moi tes peurs

Dis-moi tes peurs
Dis-moi qui tu es
Qui tu es
Stp donne-moi ton cœur
Donne-moi ce que tu es
Ce que tu es
Dis-moi tes peurs
Dis-moi qui tu es
Qui tu es

Lyrics:

Turn around, every now and then
I get a little bit lonely, and you're never coming round
Turn around, every now and then
I get a little bit tired of listening to the sound of my tears
Turn around, every now and then
I get a little bit nervous that the best of all the years have gone by
Turn around, every now and then
I get a little bit terrified, and then I see the look in your eyes
Turn around, bright eyes
Every now and then I fall apart
Turn around, bright eyes
Every now and then I fall apart
And I need you now tonight
And I need you more than ever
And if you only hold me tight
We'll be holding on forever
And we'll only be making it right
'Cause we'll never be wrong
Together, we can take it to the end of the line
Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time (All of the time)
I don't know what to do, and I'm always in the dark
We're living in a powder keg and giving off sparks
I really need you tonight
Forever's gonna start tonight
Forever's gonna start tonight
Once upon a time, I was falling in love
Now I'm only falling apart
There's nothing I can do
A total eclipse of the heart
Once upon a time, there was light in my life
But now there's only love in the dark
Nothing I can say
A total eclipse of the heart
Turn around, bright eyes
Every now and then, I fall apart
Turn around, bright eyes
Every now and then, I fall apart
And I need you now tonight (and I need you)
And I need you more than ever
And if you only hold me tight (if you'll only)
We'll be holding on forever
And we'll only be making it right (and we'll never)
'Cause we'll never be wrong
Together we can take it to the end of the line
Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time (all of the time)
I don't know what to do, I'm always in the dark
We're living in a powder keg, and giving off sparks
I really need you tonight
Forever's gonna start tonight
Forever's gonna start tonight
Once upon a time, I was falling in love
Now I'm only falling apart

A total eclipse of the heart

Turn around, bright eyes

There are few bigger pop stars in the world right now than classically trained flautist-turned-singer, Lizzo. Her fans love her not just for her music but also for how candid she is. As she says, she’s unapologetically a big, black beautiful woman.

But a few days ago, the entertainment world was shocked when the artist was accused of gross hypocrisy. Three of Lizzo’s former back up dancers announced they’re suing her, claiming they were body-shamed and sexually harassed. Lizzo has vehemently denied any wrongdoing, meaning a court will probably determine the veracity of the allegations.

Just before this controversy blew up, Tom Steinfort was given an exclusive glimpse behind the scenes of Lizzo’s Australian tour.

Lyrics:
[Chorus]
Follow my instincts
Monday to Wednesday
Life is a mystery
What do my FRIENDS think?
Some cowards kneel but
They never feel us
They almost killed us
And I’m still here bruh
[Verse 1]
Why you even pay rent, when you don’t get out the bed?
Tryna own my problems mostly cause I live in my head
I’m tryna fix up my relations, I still gamble with stress
I don’t wanna drive you crazy over something I said
In my mind I got it all and still I hang by a thread
In these streets they take your life becuase of something you said
Pour some liquor out, I figured out where differences dread
Could’ve hit the trap, in fact you hit this music instead
Foreign visions got me distant from my people again
I hug the block, so a nigga never needed no friend
I don’t validate, I’m tired and least you my mans
I don’t mean to disappoint, I tried the best that I can
My cousin put me on, I had the metal rest in my hands
He want the drop, so I had to hit the plug in advance
Homey know this day is coming if you hustling grands
This a dirty game, be cautious when exposing them Stans
[Verse 2]
Shellcases, scattered by them police stations
My occupations, rap niggas try to test my patience
I’m out of flagrant, mitosis to assimilation
I’m out of coast I touch down it’s more than simulation
I count my blessings like they currency or bank statements
Don’t ask so clueless, best suited for the affidavit
The new messiah, the goliath when you ask for David
You ask for anything, believe it’s just reciprocated
[Chorus]
Follow my instincts
Monday to Wednesday
Life is a mystery
What do my FRIENDS think?
Some cowards kneel but
They never feel us
They almost killed us
And I’m still here bruh
[Verse 3]
How the fuck you say you gang, if you around me and not notice that I’m drained?
Take advantage of my pain
All the the same, how the fuck you say my dog, you know my loyalty won’t let me cut you off?
I done seen my hands bleed from tryna plant seeds, what your bands mean when they matter in the grand scheme?
What do my friends think?
Please forgive me for the times that I act distant, that just means I’m feeling closer to my ending
Tell em catch me in the wind, whoa
Out of range but you still find a way, shoot me from a mile away then go back to your hideaway
Find it strange you don’t know why why I still care
I aint mad, I’m jealous that you unaware, I kinda think that shit unfair
Save me from the darkness I see
Cause I won’t at home til I’m free
Save me from the darkness I see
Cause I won’t at home til I’m free

Following on the heels of two gigantic #1 Hot 100 hits in 1985, today’s featured song the 80s classic Head Over Heels, written by iconic synth rock pioneer Roland Orzabal and sung with his partner Curt Smith of Tears for Fears, was in line to make it three in row…but would it happen? Ambitious and anthemic, this song boasts some highly intelligent lyrics that take many listens to unriddle. It came From a record that was named after a bad TV movie. Songs from the Big Chair with a music video that defined the 80s. It’s one of the most under-appreciated songs of the neon decade. So good a cult movie Donnie Darko based an entire sequence on the song and filmed it without knowing if they’d even get the song rights. We solve this mysterious 80s song riddle next.

Hey music junkies, Professor of Rock, always here to celebrate the greatest artists and the greatest songs of all time. If you ever found solace in a game of pong or tried at least 1000 times to beat Mike Tyson in Punch depending on what generation you came from You’ll dig this channel of pure music Nostalgia. make sure that you subscribe below right now and check the box so that you always get our latest interviews and stories We also have a patreon you'll want to check out. We just put a full unreleased documentary up there. It’s great stuff that you’ll enjoy.

So, it’s time for another edition of #1 in Our Hearts. This show honors songs that were so unbelievably great, they absolutely should've been #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. But for whatever reason, be it radio play, lack of marketing, label support or just sheer stupidity, the song came up short. On previous episodes, we have covered Just Like Heaven by the Cure, True by Spandau Ballet, and In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel.

Today we are giving you the story behind Head Over Heels, a #1 near miss from Tears for Fears’ seminal 1985 album Songs from the Big Chair and for my money it might be their greatest song.

You know, of all the synth-pop sensations to come out of the Second British Invasion, Tears For Fears are one of the few left standing.

Over the course of the past 40 years, there may only be seven studio albums under the Tears for Fears banner, but the quality of their catalog is a massive cut above the rest. And it’s safe to say that the iconic duo of Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith have risen to become global superstars. With the recent release of their latest record The Tipping Point, a brilliant modern offering, it’s clear that these two statesmen of synthesized rock have transcended the decade they towered over…

Their voice today is just as critical as it has ever been. So with today’s episode, I want to honor their legacy, especially since Head Over Heels is one of my favorite songs in their brilliant catalog. Just for a quick primer, Smith and Orzabal both grew up in Bath, England and became friends in their early teen years. Both boys came from broken homes, with Curt flirting with juvenile delinquency as a result. Roland, however, turned to books to alleviate his trauma. And at 17 he discovered psychologist Arthur Janov's primal scream therapy. Orzabal turned Smith on to Janov as well. That would become a common thematic element early on.
