Lyrics:
Oysters in the pocket
We’re saving for lunch
Not that we are shellfish
We just haven’t learnt much

Oh well that’s miles away
Oh well that’s miles away

Couldn’t take the fourby out
The peddies too much
Send me on my bicycle
The chain is all rust

Oh well that’s miles away
Oh well that’s miles away

Paying off the limousine now
We’re in no rush
Tried to give my number away
But I haven’t heard much

Oh well that’s miles away
Oh well that’s miles away

Oysters in the pocket
We’re saving for lunch
They say that you waste
But we’re having more fun

Oh well that’s miles away

LYRICS:
Head down
Wrong fit
Big deal
That’s just growing up
Untouched
Sixteen
Don’t overthink it, boy
White arrows will break the black night
But don’t overthink it, boy

And when you’re out on the ledge
Please come down, boy
There is a place that exists
Just give it some time
Drawn arrows unseen will fly

Heatwave
Slow lane
Small town
Only diesels dance
These streets
Weren’t meant to house
Jet-fueled engine dreams
White arrows will blast the black night

And when you’re out on the ledge
Please come down, boy
There is a place that exists
Just give it some time
Home drawn arrows unseen will fly
And break the black night
But don’t overthink it, boy

The story of Taraf de Caliu is a metamorphosis in itself, as after more than three decades of relentlessly touring all over the world, the founding members of Taraf de Haidouks came back home to Romania and started this new project.

They show their skills plentifully in this fabulous performance of traditional Romanian music, a joyful and lively music showed performed for the first time on a TEDx stage. Since 1991, their music conquered Western Europe in tours and performances on almost all continents. Their talent and roots have evolved with culturally diverse influences from Tokyo, Singapore, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Istanbul or London. If we are to name just a few of their fans and collaborators, we’d go for Yehudi Menuhin, Kronos Quartet (alongside which they produced), Johnny Depp (with whom they starred in “The Man Who Cried”) and Yohji Yamamoto.

After more than three decades of relentlessly touring all over the world, the founding members of Taraf de Haidouks came back and started a new project: Taraf de Caliu – comprising of: “Gheorghe “Caliu” Anghel – violin, Ionică Tănase – cimbalom, Marius „Marin” Manole – accordion / voice, Sile Neacșu- bass, Filip Simeonov – Clarinet, Viorica Rudăreasa – voice, Ionuț Gulună – voice.

Under the name of Taraf de Haidouks, the group was awarded in 2002 with BBC World Music prize for Best Group in Europe & Middle East. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx

The Blues Brothers perform a show-stopping cover of Elvis Presley's 'Jailhouse Rock' for their fellow inmates.

What is The Blues Brothers (1980) about?

Comedy icons John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd star in the outrageously funny musical comedy The Blues Brothers. After the release of Jake Blues (Belushi) from prison, he and brother Elwood (Aykroyd) take their blues band back on the road in an attempt to raise money for the orphanage where they were raised. Havoc ensues as the brothers seek redemption on their "mission from God." This comedy classic features musical performances by blues legends Ray Charles, James Brown, Aretha Franklin and Cab Calloway.

LYRICS
I gave my best to stay alive
Impending waves of perception, caused me to lose traction and realize

Dim the light, lock the doors I know that I can’t hide
I feel the panic creeping up my spine

Hold me, regression is gaining leverage but I can’t take this, the river is running dry
Fragments of what has been, I’m treading in the dark
Our carelessness has left its mark

I gave my best to stay alive
Impending waves of perception caused me to lose traction and realize

Beware, as time is running low
We tend to fall apart

Exceptions aspire towards the long-awaited peace of mind
I’m craving infinity, but restlessness evolves the harder I thrive
Peeling skin off, inch by inch to be preoccupied
Hearing footsteps down the hall, composure in disguise

I gave my best to stay alive
Impending waves of perception caused me to lose traction and realize
I tried my best to keep the flame alive, but recognized fear, love and affection won’t fix this connection

Every time I get closer, I slip and drift away
I guess this endless well, that kept me fed until you’ve had enough, runs dry the more I’m pouring water

All I wanted was the peace of mind
Nothing left, but these sleepless nights
I slam my head against the fucking wall
Fucking end this, please fucking end this
We tend to fall apart

I tried my best to keep the flame alive but recognized fear, love and affection won’t fix this connection
I gave my best to stay alive
Impending waves of perception caused me to lose traction and realize

Bombay Bicycle Club - Meditate. An exclusive live performance for Vevo.

From the jump, Bombay Bicycle Club had an uncanny ability to package complex melodies into pristine indie rock parcels. “Always Like This,” the fan favorite from their mostly rockin’ but sometimes folky 2009 debut album, is a lesson in counterpoint from bassist Ed Nash and guitarist Jamie MacColl. On next year’s acoustic-leaning “Flaws” album, the beautifully simple “Dust on The Ground” is followed by “Ivy & Gold,” a sparkling jig that makes you want to pick up your own guitar and try to nail its intricate melody. The 2000s indie golden era was typified by ambitious songwriting, and the London quartet exemplified it with songs that were both angular and angsty, yet lush and downright pretty. It all came together on ‘A Different Kind Of Fix,’ where vocalist/guitarist Jack Steadman’s experimental pastiches of harmonies, falsettos, samples, and synths still left space for fantastic bass and guitar lines; see: “Lights Out, Words Gone” and “Shuffle.” More than a decade removed from that album, they’re strong as ever. 2020’s shifty, crunchy, and hypnotic “Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You)” boasts more than 60 million Spotify streams. We had a blast capturing four tracks from their sixth studio album ‘My Big Day.’ On this project they invited some friends: Damon Albarn, Nilufer Yanya, Jay Som, Chaka Khan (!!!) and Holly Humberstone. But in our studio, it was the core four doing what they do best: creating space for each member, trading riffs, enchanting listeners.
