“Here With Me” Lyrics
Watch the sun rise along the coast
As we're both getting old
I can't describe what I'm feeling
And all I know is we're going home
So please don't let me go
Don't let me go

And if it's right, I don't care how long it takes
As long as I'm with you I've got a smile on my face
Save your tears, it'll be okay
All I know is you're here with me

Watch the sun rise as we're getting old, oh oh
I can't describe oh, oh
I wish I could live through every memory of you
Just one more time before you float off in the wind
And all the time we spent
Waiting for the light to take us in
Have been the greatest moments of my life

I don't care how long it takes
As long as I'm with you I've got a smile on my face
Save your tears, it'll be okay
You're here with me

I can't describe

Remembering Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters - February 17, 1972 - March 25, 2022 Hotney 3 Streams • 3 years ago

Oliver Taylor Hawkins, born February 17, 1972 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Hawkins graduated from Laguna Beach High School in 1990 after his family moved to the Laguna Beach area of California during the mid 70s.

Taylor aspired to become a musician from an early age, starting to play drums at just ten years old he would spend hours playing along to his favourite records. It was at this age he would discover some of his musical heroes.

Phil Collins of Genesis, Stewart Copeland of the police, and John Bonham of Led Zeppelin would all help to shape Taylors early path to becoming a musician.

Taylor would spend his early 20s being a drummer for hire, trying to get gigs with as many people as possible. When he was around 22 years old he landed a job as the drummer for the British born Canadian Rock Singer Sass Jordan which gave him his first real experience of living life on the road.

In 1995 he would join Alanis Morrissette as her permanent drummer on tour up until 1997 when Dave Grohl would ask him to come and play on a new foo fighters record called There Is Nothing Left to Lose.

It seemed like perfect timing for Hawkins and his musical career. Nothing left to lose would spawn some singles for the band with Breakout and Learn To Fly.

It’s no secret however that Taylor had long suffered from substance addiction and in 2001 he came close to losing his life. On a promotional tour in London with Foo Fighters Taylor had taken an almost fatal overdose and was rushed to hospital where he spent almost two weeks in a coma.

Dave Grohl spent almost every single day by Taylors side until he woke up. Hawkins would continue with Foo Fighters to release 8 studio albums with the band, as well as pursuing his own side project Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders.

Sadly, on March 25th 2022, Taylor Hawkins was reportedly found unresponsive in a hotel room whilst on tour with Foo Fighters. He was just 50 years old.

Taylor Hawkins was without doubt an incredible drummer and certainly a creative force when it came to working with Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters, he will truly be missed.

“WAITING ON YOU” LYRICS

VERSE
I’ll be gone soon
But I wouldn’t hold my breath
It’s a mind fuck
And it hasn’t happened yet
I remember televising deep regret
That the whole world’s better off when I forget

PRE
I learned a lesson
Second guessing my sanity
My first impression
Fell in love with a fantasy
Deal with depression
Prayed the devil was on a leash
But I could never be free

CHORUS
Waiting on you
Got lost in the darkness
And laid with alarmists
Who suffered the truth
Waiting on you
I found motivation
A cheaper replacement
For making a move
Waiting on you

VERSE 2
Met a daydream
And I waded through the tides
Of a basement
What a way to blur the lines
In a black out
Silhouettes of paradise
Remind me I’m

CHORUS
Waiting on you
Got lost in the darkness
And laid with alarmists
Who suffered the truth
Waiting on you
I found motivation
A cheaper replacement
For making a move
Waiting on you

BRIDGE
Blood red sun
It won’t be long
Keep calm
Don’t back out
Pyramids of sacrifice
Remind me I’m

CHORUS
Waiting on you
Got lost in the darkness
And laid with alarmists
Who suffered the truth
Waiting on you
I found motivation
A cheaper replacement
For making a move
Waiting on you
