can I embrace what I still can’t make sense of?
home’s the first place
you tried running away from
it’s hard to explain
and I kind of don’t want to
all that to say,
I can’t wait to get caught up on you

I say,
“I like the way that you get
lost in a moment”
you say,
“it’s the only way that
you can ever really hold it”
and I laugh
like I always do at hippie shit
you say you’d rather have the fun
than be the one making fun of it
I say,
“it’s sexy how you speak three languages”
you tell me,
“don’t say that,
you sound so fucking American”
and I kissed you before I let myself ruin it.
but if I’d thought it through,
I still would have gone through with it

we both like extended metaphors
connected loosely
we both like fancy champagne
mixed with White Claw or Truly
it taste better cause’
they shouldn’t go together
you taste better cause
we shouldn’t go together

can I embrace what I still can’t make sense of?
home’s the first place
you tried running away from
it’s hard to explain
and I kind of don’t want to
all that to say,
I can’t wait to get caught up on you

you’re high
and you’re talking about communism
I’m high
and I want to go down on a communist
I think that my kink is intellectualism
foreplay with songs set to 6/8 time rhythms

you make me want to lie
about my reading habits
care less about my social status
teach myself to comfortably
hold onto something
knowing I could never have it
you make me want to study up
on psychedelia
spend less time
on my social media
teach myself to comfortably
hold onto something
knowing I could never keep you

can I embrace what I still can’t make sense of?
home’s the first place
you tried running away from
it’s hard to explain
and I kind of don’t want to
all that to say,
I can’t wait to get caught up on you

caught up on you
caught up on you
all that to say
I can’t wait to get caught up on you

Lyrics
(Yo, something's wrong here. No, not again!)
(Get the daisies for the...)
Potholes in my lawn
Potholes in my lawn
Potholes in my lawn

Everybody's sayin'
What to do when sucka lunatics start diggin' and chewin'
They don't know that the Soul don't go for that
Potholes in my lawn
And that goes for my rhyme sheet
Which I concentrated so hard on, see
I don't ask for maximum security
But my dwellin' is swellin'
It nipped my bud when I happened to fall
Into a spot
Where no ink or an inkblot
Was on a scroll
I just wrote me a new mo
But now it's gone
There's no
Suckers knew that I hate
To recognize that every time I'm writin'
It's gone

(Yodel-a-hee, Yodel-oh-hee, Yodel-ay)
(Yodel-a-hee, Yodel-oh-hee, Yodel-ee-hee-hee-hee)
Potholes in my lawn

I've found that it's not wise
To leave my garden untended
Cause eyes have now pardoned all laws of privacy
Even paws are after my writer
See, I've found that everyone's sayin'
What to do when suckers are preyin'
On my well-guarded spreadsheets
Oh why, hell does it send up fleets
Of evil-doers through the big hole
To get to evil-doers who dig holes
Which leaves my lawn with lawn-chew
I think I'd better plant traces to give clues
Or better yet call 911
And when they get here I inform them I'm the Plug One
Open a chair and let them realize the reason
For concern of the Soul
Cause we've come down with a case of potholes

(Yodel-a-hee, Yodel-oh-hee, Yodel-ay)
(Yodel-a-hee, Yodel-oh-hee, Yodel-ee-hee-hee-hee)
Potholes in my lawn

(Who stole, who stole, who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?)

Now you got the method
What to do when you die
The death that I predict in 'Plug Tunin'
It's a shame that you deny to claim
That you stole my words of fame
That I wrote in my rhyme sheet
Which I concentrated so hard on, see
I don't ask for a barbed wire fence, B
But my dwellin' is swellin'
It nipped my bud when I happened to fall
Into a spot
Where no ink or an inkblot
Was on a scroll
I just wrote me a new mo
But now it's gone 'cause those
Suckers knew that I hate
To recognize that every time I'm writin'
It's gone
Potholes in my lawn

(Yodel-a-hee, Yodel-oh-hee, Yodel-ay)
(Yodel-a-hee, Yodel-oh-hee, Yodel-ee-hee-hee-hee)
Potholes in my lawn

Lyrics:

Thoughts, drowning in, you can’t fight them
Look I’m ready now - just slow them somehow
Wrongs, reckonings, you can’t right them
Just writing that down - felt stupid till now...

While I’m never gonna’ cross that feeling
And it’s never gonna’ fade away - fight or flight
If there’s logic in your thought, your reasoning
Dreams stay out of sight. Let it be

Maybe the place where I belong is with the ones that still fight
Or is it better we just close our eyes - pretend that they’re right?
All of us kill/killing time - when that's all that they want
Just realise that it's never gonna’ stop

Never gonna’ stop...

Hope, it’s a sin, with past judgement
They settle you down, god jury and crown
Fear, creeping in - try to fight it
One sleight of the hand, distraction - command...

While I’m never gonna’ cross that feeling
And it's never gonna’ fade away - fight or flight
If there’s logic in your thought, your reasoning
Dreams stay out of sight. Let it be

Maybe the place where I belong is with the ones that still fight
Or is it better we just close our eyes - pretend that they’re right?
All of us kill/killing time - when that's all that they want
Just realise that it's never gonna’ stop

Bliss, ignorance isn’t it most of the time
Breeds control, lies & bribes, this new world...
stands idly by, watching this tragedy close
Skin blood bones, blended in a monochrome
Bliss, ignorance isn’t it most of the time
Missing skin and chrome - merging into one...

Maybe the place where I belong is with the ones that still fight
Or is it better we just close our eyes - pretend that they’re right?
All of us kill/killing time - when that's all that they want
Just realise that it's never gonna’ stop

Never gonna’ stop...
