The Reason Why 2Pac Got Shot 5 Times (He Shot Himself?!) Hotney 2 Streams • 3 years ago

2Pac Vs The Notorious BIG Beef, Biggie - Who Shot Ya, Who shot 2Pac at the Quad Studios (Jimmy Henchman, Haitian Jack, Dexter Isaac, King Tut), Against All Odds & Holla At Me

By now, many rap fans are familiar with the 1994 shooting of rapper Tupac Shakur in New York City’s Quad Studios. The incident is what sparked the now infamous East Coast-West Coast feud after Shakur accused Diddy and Notorious B.I.G. of being involved in this setup. On his 1996 album “The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory”, Shakur penned a track titled “Against All Odds”, where he name-drops several of his adversaries including Nas, Mobb Deep, Jimmy Henchman, and Haitian Jack.

On the song, Tupac not only accuses Henchman and Haitian Jack of orchestrating the 1994 shooting, but also alleges that Jack is a government informant for the FBI.

In November 1994, Tupac was in New York, where his sentence was to be read- a lawsuit brought against him by Ayanna Jackson. Just a day before the sentence was announced the rapper had been shot five times in the lobby of Quad Recording Studios in Manhattan, New York. Contrary to the doctors’ orders, 2Pac appeared in the courtroom the next day to hear his sentence personally.

But what exactly happened on November 30, 1994, at the Quad Recordings building?

A man named Jimmy Henchman got in touch with 2Pac and offered him to record a song with a young artist named Little Shawn. Pac agreed to do the track for the sum of $ 7,000 and went at Quad Recording Studios on 723 Seventh Avenue.

However, Tupac and Little Shawn’s record never happened as Pac was shot five times in the lobby of the studio. He was a victim of an armed robbery carried out by three people, and having reached for his weapon instead of lying on the floor, Tupac received five bullets and ended up in the hospital.

It was believed that the man behind the shooting was Jimmy Henchman. Years later, he acknowledged his involvement in the shooting, and Tupac himself promised him payback in his song “Against All Odds” – “Promised a payback, Jimmy Henchman, in due time.”

In 2011, a new confession related to the shooting at Quad Recordings was made. A man named Dexter Isaac, who is currently serving a life sentence but for very different offenses, said he had received $ 2,500 from Jimmy Henchman to participate in the robbery. Dexter said he was promised to keep all of Tupac’s jewelry he could get, except for one particular ring that Henchman wanted for himself.

In the song "Holla At Me", 2Pac talks about his former close friend, Stretch, who he felt had betrayed him and helped set him up on the infamous 1994 Quad Studios shooting—an unofficial theory that was later confirmed by one of ‘Pac’s shooters.

For the Notorious B.I.G., 1995 was quite the year. Not only was the MC preparing to crush the sop****re jinx with his second album, he was in full campaign mode for rap’s King of New York title. Initially endorsed by the July cover of the #1 hip-hop magazine in the 1990's The Source, Big led the race with the year’s hottest street record being his controversial “Who Shot Ya?”

In the premier episode of Iconic Records, we talk to “Who Shot Ya” producer and former Hitman Nasheim Myrick. Junior Mafia MC Klepto gives us a never before told story about which rapper the song was actually aimed at. Rap royalty Fat Joe even joins us to speak on his brotherhood with B.I.G.. But first, legendary hip-hop journalist Bonz Malone reflects on writing that historic cover story for The Source 27 years ago and being a dice roll away from signing Big before Puff.

Lyrics:
Man, I use to be a sad cat, I want my dad back
Now a nigga having flashbacks, we never had that
This was way before the Snapchat and all the CashApp
I was wishing, could I smash that but I was laughed at
And yeah, I ran up on a bad track wish I could backtrack
Tell that pussy nigga, back back, I got a bad rap
Never leave us without my backpack, this ain’t no rap cap
Man, I came down to my last pack
I broke it down and I had gave my brother half that
Now I’ll never leave the fuckin’ stu, bitch I’m a lab rat
Watch the way I whip the fuckin’ coupe
I bet I’ll crash that
Got these niggas scared to bust a move
I’ll drop a fat stack
I love the way my niggas fuckin’ shoot
I call ’em mad max
Now who gon’ clap back
I might put on my black hat and let you know some fast facts
Ain’t never wear no snapbacks
I rarely use a hashtag
I had cut off a natnat
Don’t care if shorty ass fat

If you didn’t know me before all these roleys
Then you gotta show me
And now I got cold feet ’bout who came before me
‘Cause you never told me
I want you to hold me before I go OD
Don’t call on the police
Just keep this shit low key
You really my woadie
Take care of my OG
If you really for me

‘Cause I treat your momma like I treat my momma
We fucked up these commas
All type of designer, took you outta drama
When they couldn't find us
Put you in the lineup
But you outta line, bruh
Just give all your lies up
My nigga, your time’s up, ay ay
Big decision, I made my mind up, ay ay
It’s been a minute since I done cracked up
I know this shit get wicked
But this shit I ain’t sign up

Need be, I would do it over just to repeat, yeah
Please be on the same energy
When you see me, yeah
Need sleep, feel like I ain’t been to sleep in 3 weeks
Not once, I’m done
Can’t trust no one

If I didn’t proceed with what God told me
Would you ever know me?
(Yeah)
If you knew the old me, man, he was in so deep, they said it was O.V., ay
Say you want a front-row seat
Just for you to show free
Just come get to know me, yeah
Would you still have chose me if I was the poor me?
Guess we’ll never know, B
Keep ballin' like Kobe

Need be, I would do it over just to repeat, yeah
Please be on the same energy
When you see me, yeah
Need sleep, feel like I ain’t been to sleep in 3 weeks
Not once, I’m done

Lyrics:
I call you, when I need you my heart′s on fire
You come to me, come to me, wild and wild
You come to me
Give me everything I need

Give me a lifetime of promises and a world of dreams
Speak the language of love like you know what it means
And it can't be wrong, take my heart
And make it strong, baby

You′re simply the best
Better than all the rest
Better than anyone
Anyone I ever met

I'm stuck on your heart
I hang on every word you say
Tear us apart
Baby, I would rather be dead

In your heart I see the start of every night and every day
In your eyes, I get lost, I get washed away
Just as long as I'm here in your arms
I could be in no better place

You′re simply the best
Better than all the rest
Better than anyone
Anyone I ever met

I′m stuck on your heart
I hang on every word you say
Oh, tear us apart, no, no
Baby, I would rather be dead

Each time you leave me I start losing control
You're walking away with my heart and my soul
I can feel you even when I′m alone
Oh, baby, don't let go

Oh, you′re the best
Better than all the rest
Better than anyone
Anyone I ever met

I'm stuck on your heart
I hang on every word you say
Oh, tear us apart, no, no
Baby, I would rather be dead

You′re the best
You're simply the best
Better than all the rest
Better than anyone
Anyone I ever met

I'm stuck on your heart
I hang on every word you say
Oh, tear us apart, no, no
Baby, I would rather be dead

Oh, you′re the best!

Johnny The Boy - Crossings (official music video) 2023 Hotney 2 Streams • 3 years ago

Gloom Core band JOHNNY THE BOY are now sharing the new song 'Crossings'. The track is taken from the album "You", which will be released on June 9th, 2023.

Born from a simple idea, and eventually coalescing over the last couple of years into a fully-formed entity, Johnny The Boy make music that hurts. Armed with a scabrous but sculpted blend of ice-cold black metal, excoriating sludge and sinewy, white-knuckle rock’n’roll, the trio’s musical identity has arrived, perfectly imperfect and ready to eviscerate. Formed around a creative core of vocalist Belinda Kordic, guitarist Justin Greaves (both members of Crippled Black Phoenix) and bassist Matt Crawford (CBP alumnus and live bassist), Johnny The Boy began life as an instinctive grab for something darker and nastier.

Lyrics:

Alone
all alone
With that last breath
and no given hand to hold
How cruel it is
to have to it end like this
Afraid and alone
Where is the comfort
Too sooth them on their way
Safe passage through the darkened haze
All should know love when letting go
No one should die alone
Die alone

Alone

With no hand to hold
There is no comfort
No one should go alone
When that last breath is drawn

Alone

Lyrics:
We stride triumphant, Hellspawned Demon Lords
Trampling the fallen, Violated agonized wailing
Worldgrinders, necrotic sovereigns

We reign in chaos and destruction
Satanic orgies in the heavens
We toast in blood of the holy
Demons, Devils, Enemies of divine

Obey your old, ancient and primeval gods
We are the almighty, the supreme and the dominant

We erupt and wreak havoc
Hideous, resentful and vicious
Emperors of pester and torture
Deicide, hate and revenge

Certainty of death
Pain of torture
Brutality of war
Force of Evil

We are emissaries from Hell
Bringers of misery to the feeble
We rape and feast on the angels
Perverted, malicious, bloodthirsty

We are the grim reapers
Annihilators of human existence

Drown in Fire

We stride triumphant
Hellspawned demon lords
Trampling the fallen
Violated agonized wailing
Worldgrinder necrotic sovereign
Demonic ascension
Grovel on your bellies
Before the gods of black blood
