LYRICS

Hiding behind the hand of god
Those thought to have been holy
Who possess the power to control
Have influenced and manipulated
the minds of the weak

Within this book we can save you
Ignore your thoughts believe our truth
Choke down the lies one with the flock
Forget yourself believe our truths
Spewing forth filth damned all who doubt
Fall in line, distorted grace you must obey so
Fall in line, shut your mouth and go in faith

Ingest the falsification of divine ascension
Angelic perversion becoming the worldwide sermon

Exalted abomination
Blameless are those in the cloth
Enveloped by filthy providence
Hiding behind the hand of god
Beliefs based in blood soaked pages
Father of falsehood

Kill at will, do as thou wilt
Worship the god with in
Build monolithic monuments

Spit out the sacrament
Witness the theological genocide
(Witness Witness)
The ancient Molestation mass
Innocence defiled

Exalted abomination
Blameless are those in the cloth
Enveloped by filthy providence
Hiding behind the hand of god
Beliefs based in blood soaked pages
Father of falsehood

Forever hiding behind the hand of god

NAPALM DEATH - Contagion (OFFICIAL VIDEO) Hotney 9 Streams • 3 years ago

NAPALM DEATH - Contagion (OFFICIAL VIDEO)
Taken from the album "Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism", out September 18th, 2020. Get it here: https://napalmdeath.lnk.to/Thr....oesofJoyintheJawsofD

Video directed by Marc Nickel / Ljuba Generalova
Production Company: Ljuba Generalova
Special thanks to Alex Gohari for all the help and support!

NAPALM DEATH frontman Mark ‘Barney’ Greenway comments about the special topic covered within the song and clip as follows: “Although we can only hope to provide a snapshot in four-minutes, what we wanted to try to illustrate with the “Contagion” video is how difficult it has been made to do something as fundamental as moving freely as a human being. There is downright absurdity in that some people have to resort to mortal danger doing things like riding atop trains whilst others can move seamlessly and freely without a second thought. We advocate for an end to borders of all description. Complementing that, the sweaty live footage was shot brilliantly by Ljuba Generalova in NAPALM DEATH’s virtual second home of Berlin and the music, you might say, just motors along like a train.”

And NAPALM DEATH bassist Shane Embury, who wrote the music and the lyrics for “Contagion”, added as follows: “Musically, “Contagion” is geared towards manic intense live mosh pit action but with an added 4AD noise quirk homage chorus! Also, having so many friends in the Latin community, through a couple of them I learned and read about the perilous journeys that families embark on for the chance at a better life. As a parent, I think of my children’s future all the time - the things we take for granted I wanted to reflect lyrically!”

CONTAGION
(music and lyrics: Embury)

Perilous is the heart that thrives
Towards a new life is what they strive
Blood is lost as debts are paid
Against all odds In a jungle maze
Steam burns and skin is cracked
Families huddle on the roof racks
Boldly robbed in the nights glare
Human prey for corporate fare

Contagion
Greed is a contagion refined with a soulless poison
They negotiate in innocence with a greed that's infectious

Back to back on the spine of the beast
Willing to die if that's what it takes
Towards lands that refuse to accept
And build walls to blind eyes to the deaths
Out of fear they run and hide
A glimpse of rapture their one true guide
The quest for what we take for granted
What should be done to help those disenchanted?

Contagion

Greed is a contagion refined with a soulless Poison
They negotiate in innocence with a greed that's infectious
Blood soaked currency dictating their doctrine
Baneful sadists
Greed is a contagion

Babies are hoisted aboard the carrion
Negotiations to escape
(Limbs upon limbs) bodies fall in the throes of sleep
Or in the humid darkness are raped

Summoning courage without guarantees
There's no going back, every minute they've seized

(Violent extortion) The brutalities of this inhuman course, as their fragile governments try to enforce

Contagion

Electricity (Lyrics):

Falling into you
Baby
Even electricity
Can’t compare to what I feel
When I’m with you
Ooh baby
Given up my ghosts for you
And now I’m see through

You give me a feeling
Feeling so strong
I know you been treating
Treating yourself wrong
So let me care for you
Ooh baby
Ima love you differently
I’ll give you electricity
Give it to you

And even if I could
I wouldn’t turn on you
And I would stop the world for you
You know
I wanted to let you know
I’ll never let this feeling go
This love has no ceiling
I cannot deny

And even if I could
I wouldn’t turn on you
And I would stop the world for you and I
I wanted to let you know
I’ll never let this feeling go
This love has no ceiling
I cannot deny

All I see is you lately
Wide awake and in my dreams
I see your face so vividly
I don’t know what I’d do
Ooh baby
If you only saw a friend in me
I’d be bitter sweet

You give me a feeling
Feeling so strong
I know you been treating
Treating yourself wrong
So let me care for you
Ooh baby
Ima love you differently
I’ll give you electricity
Give it to you

And even if I could
I wouldn’t turn on you
And I would stop the world for you
You know
I wanted to let you know
I’ll never let this feeling go
This love has no ceiling
I cannot deny

And even if I could
I wouldn’t turn on you
And I would stop the world for you and I
I wanted to let you know
I’ll never let this feeling go
This love has no ceiling
I cannot deny

You feel electric baby
So electric baby
I wanna let you know
Let you know
I think I’m ready baby
I think I’m ready now
Electricity
I’m flowing into you

I want it
I need it
This current between us
Is flowing
This feeling
Tonight

And even if I could
I wouldn’t turn on you
And I would stop the world for you
You know
I wanna let you know
I’ll never let this feeling go
This love has no ceiling
I cannot deny

And even if I could
I wouldn’t turn on you
And I would stop the world for you and I
I wanna let you know
I’ll never let this feeling go
This love has no ceiling
I cannot deny

You feel electric baby
So electric baby
I wanna let you know
Let you know
I think I’m ready baby
I think I’m ready now
Electricity

Lyrics:
It’s a woman’s world, and you’re lucky to be living in it

Sexy, confident
So intelligent
She is heaven-sent
So soft, so strong

She’s a winner
Champion
Superhuman
Number one
She’s a sister
She’s a mother
Open your eyes, just look around, and you’ll discover
You know

It’s a woman’s world, and you’re lucky to be living in it (uh huh, uh huh)
It’s a woman’s world, and you’re lucky to be living in it (uh huh, uh huh)
You better celebrate
’Cause baby we ain’t going away
It’s a woman’s world, and you’re lucky to be living in it (uh huh, uh huh)

Fire in her eyes
Feminine divine
She was born to shine
To shine, to shine, yeah

She’s a flower
She’s a thorn
Superhuman

Lucky to be living in it
Lucky to be living in it

That’s right
It’s a woman’s world
And you’re lucky to be living in it
Uh huh
