"I Like It Like That" from the album "I Like It Like That (A Mi Me Gusta Así)" now available for pre-order on 180-gram audiophile vinyl at the official Fania online store: https://found.ee/peterodriguez-faniad2c-lat

#ILikeItLikeThat #PeteRodriguez #FaniaRecords

The fifth album by the Bronx-born, Puerto Rican bandleader and pianist Pete Rodriguez, "I Like It Like That (A Mi Me Gusta Así)" was released on Alegre Records in 1967, later acquired by historic salsa label Fania Records in 1975, at the height of the Latin boogaloo dance craze. The title track became the genre’s anthem and one of the most iconic dance hits in the history of Latin American music. Latin boogaloo is a melting pot musical genre born when young Puerto Ricans in NYC mixed African American music (R&B) and doo-wop with traditional Latin rhythms. It remains a culture of inclusivity; a musical way to find value in the commonalities and differences of all people.

Fania is celebrating the timeless "I Like It Like That (A Mi Me Gusta Así)" album with an official audiophile 180-gram vinyl reissue that boasts all-analog mastering from the original tapes (out 7/31) and a new music video.

This music video features archival footage the New York Latin music scene in the ’60s, as well as current dance party visuals. It’s reflective of the excitement that the song has generated for decades, and continues to generate today and beyond.

Music video created by Slate Media Group. www.wearslate.com

To learn more about Latin boogaloo watch the “We Like It Like That” film, now available on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, Vudu, Google Play, and Reelhouse.

Lyrics:
The actor lying on the pillow next to me
Through thighs a canyon, and bullets
Below your knees
I know you find it hard to breathe

When flowers bloom at the corner of your street
Dried flat for pleasure, insurance
And hopefully
They get a page inside your book

What could I say to make this right?
Afternoon fuck and then a fight
When everybody’s listening
My friends are in the kitchen

Elastic lover you’re holding me so tight
Just like a saviour
Until it doesn’t feel too right
I won’t forget the way you cried

A damning flight by virtue of a man
And to say father, I hope you’ve got a plan
I’ve got another one too

What could you say to make this right
Afternoon fuck and then a fight
You knew that I was listening
Your new man in the kitchen

On stage the actor rehearses her new lines
One woman show
“I’ll see you at opening night”
And then won’t look you in the eye

We are releasing our upcoming album, Bleed Out, on October 20, 2023. Preorder your copy now. Go to https://wt.lnk.to/preorder_YT

Bleed Out - the album, signifies a bold leap forward for us. From contemporary, hard-hitting djenty riffs to soaring melodies displaying their symphonic roots, we have created a sonic journey that fuses diverse musical styles and thought-provoking themes. This is an album that is as epic as it is unflinchingly outspoken, and now more than ever, we aren’t afraid to make a stand on issues we care about.

Bleed Out - the single, is based on the story of a woman in Iran who was murdered because she refused to wear a hijab - Mahsa Amini. We explore the wider theme of shedding light on individuals oppressed by regimes that wield power to suppress their citizens and dismantle societies in the process. By raising awareness around social issues such as the plight of those oppressed by oppressive regimes, we aim to shed light on the inherent strength and resilience of individuals who stand up against injustice.

Lyrics:
When innocence’s born, it’s bound to be broken
The shadows appear and they darken the mind
Dying of fear
Dying of knowing

How deep it cuts
Enough is enough
Something’s got to give
I know my mistakes

God bless she walks in her last winter
The halo around her head it starts to linger
Her fear has died, her heart is still unbroken
There’s no remorse, she doesn’t mind
She bleeds out

God bless she walks in her last winter
The halo around her head it starts to linger
Her fear has died, her heart is still unbroken
There’s a voice inside of me, getting louder, breaking free
She bleeds out

Blessed are the ones, free of mind, free of hoping
To walk into worlds never seen, what’s to come
Your destiny, is yours to be chosen

How deep it cuts
Enough is enough
Something’s got to give
I know my mistakes

God bless she walks in her last winter
The halo around her head it starts to linger
Her fear has died, her heart is still unbroken
There’s no remorse, she doesn’t mind
She bleeds out
God bless she walks in her last winter
The halo around her head it starts to linger
Her fear has died, her heart is still unbroken
There’s a voice inside of me, getting louder, breaking free
She bleeds out

I know my mistakes

God bless she walks in her last winter
The halo around her head it starts to linger
Her fear has died, her heart is still unbroken
There’s no remorse, she doesn’t mind

She bleeds out
She bleeds out
There’s a voice inside of me, getting louder and breaking free
She bleeds out

She bleeds out

We Will Be Fine

「She will be fine,
Just something changed in the summer time.」

「She will be fine,
Just something changed in the summer time.」

「She will be fine,
Just something changed in the summer time.」

「She will be fine,
Just something changed in the summer time.」

She will be… He will be…
We will be… We will be fine

My Karaoke Version of this theme:
SEA OF LOVE.
"Sea of Love" is a song written by John Phillip Baptiste (aka Phil Phillips) and George Khoury.
Phillips' 1959 recording of the song peaked at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard R&B chart and No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
It became a gold record. It was the only top-40 chart song for Phillips, who never recorded another hit.
In the UK, Marty Wilde covered the song, his version peaked at No. 3, and Phillips' version failed to chart there.

The song has been covered by a number of artists since then, most notably by The Honeydrippers, whose version (from the album The Honeydrippers: Volume One) reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in early 1985 and No. 1 on the adult contemporary chart in 1984.

I hope you like it.

Miguel Lobo.
