Ghost and Volbeat took the stage at the Honda Center in Anaheim to wrap up their 2022 U.S. tour along with special guests Twin Temple. Fans arrived early for this one and formed lines around the Honda Center hours ahead of time. As soon as doors opened, many attendees went straight to the merchandise booths to wait in line again for some tour memorabilia.

Not only was tonight the trek’s final outing, but it was also Ghost mastermind and vocalist Tobias Forge’s birthday!

What an amazing show Papa treated the crowd on his birthday and it was amazing don’t miss it!

The anticipation reached a fever pitch as familiar choral music filled the venue, bringing the masses to the floor for another ritual.

The silhouette of a solitary Ghoul was illuminated behind the curtain as Papa Emeritus IV and the band started the set with the song “Kaisarion.”

The curtain dropped and the energy was palpable. The band played a good selection from their catalog with songs like “Rats,” “From The Pinnacle to The Pit,” “Year Zero,” “Mummy Dust,” “Cirice” and “Ritual.” Fans had the good fortune to celebrate Papa Emeritus IV’s birthday with him. During a special moment, the crowd even sang “Happy Birthday.”

Ghost played four new songs tonight, beginning with the show opener “Kaisarion.”

Other highlights included “Mary on a Cross,” “Hunter’s Moon,” and a haunting cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.” Unfortunately, all good shows – and tours – must come to an end. Ghost wrapped things up with their chart-topping single “Square Hammer.” It was an incredibly entertaining night of rock and roll.

The European leg of this tour begins next month. Ghost’s new album Impera arrives next week on March 11 via Loma Vista Recordings. Be sure to check www.ghost-official.com for tour dates.

Special thank you to Ghost and Tobias, Papa Emeritus we had a blast thank you!

About Rüfüs Du Sol:
Rüfüs Du Sol, stylised as RÜFÜS DU SOL and formerly known as simply Rüfüs (stylized RÜFÜS) from 2010 to 2018, is an Australian group from Sydney, that consists of Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt. Their debut album Atlas peaked at number one in Australia, while their second album Bloom debuted atop the Australian albums chart in early 2016. Their single "You Were Right" won the ARIA Award for Best Dance Release in 2015. While still known as Rüfüs elsewhere, they performed as Rüfüs Du Sol in the United States because Rufus was already taken. In 2018 they changed their name to Rüfüs Du Sol internationally.

They have performed at the Byron Bay Bluesfest in NSW in 2013, Byron Bay's Splendour in the Grass in 2014, Electric Forest Festival at Double JJ Resort in 2016 and 2018, Mountain Sounds in 2017 in NSW, Coachella in 2016, 2017, and 2019, as well as Field Day on New Years Day in Sydney in 2019.

Lyrics

Yeah, I've been high and low,
I've been sober, I've been faded
Searching for my love in all the wrong places
Word up on the streets is I got a bad reputation
Yeah, I may have drew blood, but that was true love

I get a stroke of bad luck everywhere I look
Every time I go right everything goes wrong
And I self-destruct when I'm close to love
So someone save my soul
Because
All my life I've fucked up and I can't deny
I’m doing my best to get it together (woohoo)
If I told you once, I’ve told you a million times
I just can't live like this forever (woohoo)

Yeah, I've been up and down,
I've been through hell and back
I've had my share of drama, baby, please cut me some slack
I know you wanna get through to me, but I am my worst enemy
Yeah, I may have drew blood, but that was true love

I get a stroke of bad luck everywhere I look
Every time I go right, everything goes wrong
And I self -destruct when I'm close to love
Better buckle down, giddy up, here we go
Because
All my life I've
Fucked up and I can't deny
I’m doing my best to get it together (woohoo)
If i told you once, I’ve told you a million times
I just can't live like this forever (woohoo)
Forever (woohoo)

Go!
Giddy Up
Yee-Haw

Lyrics

Once upon a time, everything was alright
I used to feel safe, not a worry in sight
Then I grew up, quickly realized The world is a fucked up place sometimes
Death is at your door Reaching in from the other side
It's time to cut the cord

Hangin' on like a parasite (Go!)

Don't hesitate, you're hangin' on for your life
Don't hesitate, you're reachin' out for the light
Walking on a razor's edge
My blood runs black,
I'm not your friend

Pull from the depths of the thirty -six chambers (Ah!)
pull the trigger
Give a bullet to a stranger
Pull from the depths of the thirty -six chambers
pull the trigger
Give a bullet to a stranger
I don't wanna die
But I'm not gonna live
In a place so cold in a world like this
Crucify me
It’s blasphemy
Throw me in the fire
Let me burn for eternity
Burn for eternity
Burn for eternity
I will never be the one
That’ll ever back down
Never turn around and run Never, never, never back down

Deep into the trench of a place unknown
Lies a dead man clutched to the bottom of a throne
At the bottom of a hole that nobody wants to go
It's the devil that you know that's gotta hold up on your wicked soul
When there summin' your mind
and you're thinkin' the devil is makin' the crime
And the people are evil
and never no demon designer
The opposite of a divine? No!
Yes!
The hell is in front of you, side and behind?
I can feel every sign of a human decline
I'm believin' the time is upon us when all of our people are blind!
Yo!
Red rain, saw it fallin' from a tower's dead plane
Head bang, Mandalay Bay Hotel on a lead cane
Sex change could get you caught up in death's reign
She played sane but really imitating Ed Gein
How did we get this way? Negative shit to say when we get this way
Havin' a fit today
So they wanna make a bitch decay
My son's mom went gone I was really wrong
I thought I was gone
I vomit so shame for my son
But I didn't go John Muhammad
So the devil's right here
On this level wide tier
That’s cuz when rebels ready to pop the heavy metal I fear
Abomination, babin' Fakin'
Consecration Hatin' Wastin' education
Got the killer, wanna kill ‘em gotta chase em’
Go!
Go!

Spiraling out of control
And deeper down the rabbit hole

LYRICS
I drift out farther away
I got a problem with it & I don’t know how to say
It’s a pink carnation, it’s a hand hastily played
Potboiler wearing out
Give em something to kick up dust about
If it was love you were after,
with a long shadow of doubt

If it’s all you got, yeah it’s all you gave
I got a problem with it
If you can’t do better than that babe
I got a problem with it
Justified it in my own way
I lost myself in it
If it’s all you got, it’s enough you say
I got a problem with it

I drive fast on high alert
Pass the Jet Pep and the Baptist Church
On the county line I’ll be a songbird softly heard
My loose change falling out
Got a heartbreak burn, take the quickest route
On this 4 lane highway I’ll trace it in the clouds

Lyrics:

guess we'll never really know what it could have been
but you're feeling so alone when you're dreaming
and i heard that you've been doing even worse i believe it
and i'm done with all your promises so baby you can keep it

so when you get lonely
and you're frozen too
just remember what i did for me and you

i gave you one last chance
and you fucked it up
now you're far away
and i hope
that you know
that its where you'll stay
i drink too much
and i hear your voice
calling from far away
from far away

are you really ever there, am i losing it?
all the letter that you sent never made sense
so i wrote you back i was hoping you would see it
but the more i think about it girl i hope you never read it

so when you get lonely
and you're frozen too
just remember what i did for me and you

i gave you one last chance
and you fucked it up
now you're far away
and i hope
that you know
that its where you'll stay
i drink too much
and i hear your voice
calling from far away
from far away

i try to forget
and somehow i'm reminded
about those times we used to
share but now i choose to ignore
and it's so painful
but i don't mind this pain for
you but it's impossible
we threw it all away for what

i gave you one last chance
and you fucked it up
now you're far away
and i hope
that you know
that its where you'll stay
i drink too much
and i hear your voice
calling from far away
from far away

📺 ABOUT THIS VIDEO:

In this guitar lesson, Steve Stine shows you a very common and useful way to play three of the most common open guitar chords, The G C and D chords.

Using this method, it not only makes switching between them easier, it sounds great, and is used in many, many popular songs.

It might take a little practice (as most things), but I think you'll like the outcome as you continue on your guitar journey.

Remember to be patient, and practice over and over to develop muscle memory.
