Beautiful Things - Benson Boone | Karaoke Song With Lyrics Hotney 9 Streams • 3 years ago

Beautiful Things - Benson Boone | Karaoke Song With Lyrics

For a while there, it was rough
But lately, I've been doin' better
Than the last four cold Decembers, I recall
And I see my family every month
I found a girl my parents love
She'll come and stay the night
And I think I might have it all
And I thank God every day
For the girl he sent my way
But I know the things he gives me
He can take away
And I hold you every night
That's a feeling I wanna get used to
But there's no man as terrified
As the man who stands to lose you
Oh, I hope I don't lose you
Mmm
Please stay
I want you, I need you, oh God
Don't take
These beautiful things that I've got
Please stay
I want you, I need you, oh God
Don't take
These beautiful things that I've got
Oh-oh-oh-oh, ooh
Please don't take
I found my mind, I'm feelin' sane
It's been a while, but I'm finding my faith
If everything's good and it's great
Why do I sit and wait 'til it's gone?
Oh, I'll tell ya, I know I've got enough
I've got peace and I've got love
But I'm up at night thinkin'
I just might lose it all
Please stay
I want you, I need you, oh God
Don't take
These beautiful things that I've got
Oh-oh-oh-oh, ooh
Please stay
I want you, I need you, oh God
I need
These beautiful things that I've got

Lyrics

Like a warrior that fights
And wins the battle
I know the taste of victory
Though I went through some nights
Consumed by shadows
I was crippled emotionally

Somehow I made it through the heartache
Yes I did. I escaped.
I found my way out of the darkness
I kept my faith (I know you did), kept my faith

When the river was deep I didn't falter
When the mountain was high I still believed
When the valley was low it didn't stop me, no no
I knew you were waiting.
I knew you were waiting for me

With an endless desire
I kept on searching
Sure in time our eyes would meet
Like the bridge is on fire
The hurt is over,
One touch and you set me free

No, I don't regret a single moment,
No, I don't (I know you don't) looking back
When I think of all those disappointments
I just laugh (I know you do), I just laugh

When the river was deep I didn't falter
When the mountain was high I still believed
When the valley was low it didn't stop me
I knew you were waiting.
I knew you were waiting for me

So we were drawn together through destiny (oh, boy)
I know this love we shared was meant to be

I knew you were waiting,
Knew you were waiting
I knew you were waiting,
Knew you were waiting for me

I didn't falter
I still believed
When the valley was low it didn't stop me
I knew you were waiting.
I knew you were waiting for me

I didn't falter
When the mountain was high I still believed
When the valley was low it didn't stop me
I knew you were waiting.
I knew you were waiting for me

Lyrics:

In the streets of New York
Dope fiends are leaning for morphine
The TV screen followed the homicide scenes
You live here, you're taking a chance
So look and I take one glance, there's a man inside an ambulance
Crowds are getting louder, I wonder how the
People want to go fight for the white powder
People hanging in spots
They waited until the blocks got hot
And got raided by the cops
I'll explain the man sleeping in the rain
His whole life remains inside a bottle of Night Train
Another man got his clothes in a sack
'Cause he spent every dime of his rent playing blackjack
And there's the poor little sister
She has a little baby daughter
Named Sonya, and Sonya has pneumonia
So why's her mother in a club unzipped though?
Yo, that's her job, Sonya's mommy is a bar stripper
Drug dealers drive around looking hard
Knowing they're sending their brothers and sisters to the graveyard
Every day is a main event, some old lady limps
The pushers and pimps eat shrimps
It gets tiring, the sight of a gun firing
They must desire for the sound of a siren
A bag lady dies in an alleyway
She's seen the last of her days inside the subways
More and more down the slope, the kid couldn't cope
So he stole somebody's dope and a gold rope
Now my son's on the run, he's a wanted one
Had fun then was done by a shotgun
Upstairs I cover my ears and tears
The man downstairs must have drank too many beers
'Cause every day of his life he beats his wife
Till one night she decides to pull a butcher knife
Blind man plays the sax
A tune called: "The Arms on My Moms Show Railroad Tracks"
Many lives are cut short
That's when you're living
In the streets of New York
Baby needs new shoes
But his papa uses all the money for booze
A young girl is undressed in the back seat of a caddy
Calling some man daddy
Three men, slain inside an apartment
All you could see was the sparks when it darkened
Daylight broke, cops roll on the scene
The drug war, daily routine
Gambling spots, just a poor man's jackpot
You winning a lot, you get shot
The drug dealing fanatics
But you don't want no static
'Cause they got crack addicts with automatics
Shoot-outs for a desire for territory
A kid got caught in the crossfire
A tired mother can't take no more
She grab the bottle full of sleeping pills and took about twenty-four
Human beings are laying on the pavement
'Cause they're a part of a mental enslavement
The cop snipers, little babies in dirty diapers
This type of life is making you hyper
People scouting a torched-out building
And got killed when the cold air filled in
Is Hell really suggested?
No more persons arrested, a child molested
A little kid says: "Yo I got a color TV, CD
Player and car stereo, and all I want
Is a castle, I also got a thirty-eight
Don't give me no hassle"
One kid heads straight for the top
And gets stopped and popped by a crooked cop
Look behind you when you walk
That's how it is in the streets of New York

Lyrics:

[Verse 1:]
I hit the loose juice and pulls up in the deuce
He gives me the scoop about the fake ass truce
And how niggas out there wanna play
I take another hit of the wet and then I blast away
(How far, playa?)
Far enough to go off the edge
I push another nigga off the ledge
So I stumble as I slide to the Chevy
Yeah, my eyes kinda teary and gun kinda heavy
I'm a walking dead man is what they call me when I'm comin'
Got the big S on my chest, so I'm kinda gunnin'
High powered on my way to the West Side
To check upon on some chickens
It's a hell of a drive, so drive on
As I hit my dodo stick to the break of dawn
Crime fighting's what I do and niggas in my crew
Don't take lightly to you bustas and so we say, "Fuck you"
Then buck you, tuck you in for the night
As you think about the paper at the funeral site
So when I'm hangin' with the clique, and we in demand
I feel good that the city of angels call me black superman

[Hook:]
Now everybody sing
Black superman
Now everybody know
Black superman

[Interlude]
*phone rings*
[Hutch's answerphone:] "Yo this Hutch, I ain't in right now
But uh, leave a message at the beep
You know I'm out flossin' and tossin', dippin' and trippin'
You know what I'm sayin'?"
[KM.G:] "Aye Hutch man uh, they just leavin' yo mama's house, um, I don't know what they got but, um man, they lookin' for us, man
Call me over at Peach's house."
*hangs up phone*

[Verse 2:]
Now it was once said by an ol' loc G
Always tryna come up, yeah, and that's a G
Uh, cause when I bomb it's like a curse
Cause see, once in a lifetime everybody did some dirt
I guess it got to me the same
So at the age of 15, I entered the dope game
I had my game locked up tight
In the day I went to school, but I clocked all night
And when I went to class I always felt asleep
But I was out like a motherfucker, if somebody beeped
My teacher said, "Boy, can't it wait?"
I said, "No, I got to put some mo' icing on my cake."
I think I saved about 50 G's
I bought a truck, a house, and a Coupé on D's
Mom is trippin but she really don't know
All I'm thinkin' is she ain't on the county no mo'
Before my mama fucked with the county again
I'd rather take the risk of doin' 5 to 10
I’m not takin' them checks, I’m straight makin' them checks
So now we deserve to get what we wanna get
I got my mama up outta there
Because y'all motherfuckers just don't care
Uh, you really wanna know why I sold scum
Because my mama to me comes number one
Now you sucker motherfuckers don't understand
But to my mama, I'm her real Black Superman

[Hook:]
Now everybody know
Black superman
Now everybody sing
Black superman

LYRICS
[Intro]
(Yeaheah) Heyey
(Yeaheah) Heyey (Paradise, paradise)
Heyey (Paradise, you and me)
Heyey

[Verse 1: Brandy]
She calls out to the man on the street:
"Sir, can you help me?
It's cold and I've nowhere to sleep
Is there somewhere you can tell me?"

He walks on, doesn't look back
He pretends he can't hear her
Starts to whistle as he crosses the street
Seems embarrassed to be there

[Hook]
Oh, think twice
'Cause it's another day for you and me in paradise
Oh, think twice
'Cause it's just another day for you, you and me in paradise
(Yeaheah)
Think about it, hey

[Verse 2: Ray J]
She calls out to the man on the street
He can see she's been crying, yeah
(Yo, girl, why you're cryin'?)
She's got blisters on the soles of her feet
(Let me help you out)
She can't walk but she's trying

[Hook]
Oh, think twice (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
'Cause it's another day for you and me in paradise (Paradise, oooh, yeah)
Oh (Think twice), think twice
'Cause it's another day for you, you and me in paradise

(Yeaheah) You and me in paradise
You and me (Yeaheah)
Just think about it
(Yeaheah)
Yeah, just think about it
Oh, yeah) (Yeaheah)
Think about it

[Bridge]
Oh, lord
Is there nothing more anybody can do?
Ohoho, lord (Ohoho, lord!)
There must be something you can say!

[Verse 3: Brandy & Ray J]
You can tell from the lines on her face
You can see that she's been there, yeah
She's probably been moved on from every place
'Cause she didn't fit in there

[Hook]
Oh, think twice (Think twice)
'Cause it's another day for you and me in paradise (Oh, yeah)
Oh, think twice (Think twice)
'Cause it's another day for you, you and me in paradise
Yeah yeah
(Oho, yeah, oho, yeah)
Just think about it, oooh
Think about it (Oh yeah)

[Outro]
It's just another day for you and me in paradise (Yeaheah)
It's just another day for you and me in paradise (Yeaheah)

It's just another day for you and me in paradise (Just think about it, think about it) (Yeaheah)
It's just another day for you and me in paradise (Yeaheah)

"Across 110th Street" (1972) Hotney 9 Streams • 4 years ago

This is the Opening of 1972's "Across 110th Street" with RE-MIXED SOUNDTRACK: specifically instead of the original version of the song the film used, I've swapped out that track for the other more well known, more orchestrated recorded version, also with Bobby Womack on vocals, just to see hear how it would work. And man DOES it work -- albeit now minus some of those funky 70's rough edges the original version had (congas) which did give it that great 70s 'blaxplotation vibe. Anyway I've got both versions up here on the Tube so you can compare them, the original here
https://youtu.be/96WE2Nj-k-U
and this Remix one.
See what you think!
If you don't agree Bobby Womack just kills this song, man something is wrong with you!

Tarantino used this version of the great Bobby Womack's song in his film, "Jackie Brown". Not once, he used the song twice (!) Under the Opening credits sequence with Pam Greer seeming to float through the airport on the moving sidewalk (pretty cool shot) and then in the closing scene with Robert Foster. Both times to very good effect. More recently the same track was used in "American Gangster". So I hope Mr. Womack is catching some nice royalties.

I hope you enjoy this - it seems very popular and I cant get over the number of hits it gets.

More info:
"Across 110th Street" (1972) is one of the better Blaxploitation Films of the 1970's. It has some great 70's vibe and feel, especially for New York City and & Harlem back then.

"Across 110th Street", the song, is both well written and beautifully sung in this version - credited to "Bobby Womack and Peace". Bobby Womack is truly a gifted vocalist.
Finally here are the VERY WONDERFUL SONG LYRICS:
http://www.uulyrics.com/music/....bobby-womack/song-ac

"Across 110th Street"
------------------------------
I was the third brother of five,
Doing whatever I had to do to survive.
I'm not saying what I did was all right,
Trying to break out of the ghetto was a day to day
fight.
Been down so long, getting up didn't cross my mind,
I knew there was a better way of life that I was just
trying to find.
You don't know what you'll do until you're put under
pressure,
Across 110th Street is a hell of a tester.

Across 110th Street,
Pimps trying to catch a woman that's weak
Across 110th Street,
Pushers won't let the junkie go free.
Across 110th Street,
Woman trying to catch a trick on the street.
Across 110th Street,
You can find it all in the street.

I got one more thing I'd like to y'all about right now.
Hey brother, there's a better way out.
Snorting that coke, shooting that dope man you're
copping out.
Take my advice, it's either live or die.
You've got to be strong, if you want to survive.

The family on the other side of town,
Would catch hell without a ghetto around.
In every city you find the same thing going down,
Harlem is the capital of every ghetto town.

Across 110th Street,
Pimps trying to catch a woman that's weak
Across 110th Street,
Pushers won't let the junkie go free.
Across 110th Street,
A woman trying to catch a trick on the street, ouh baby
Across 110th Street,
You can find it all in the street.
Yes he can, oh

Look around you, just look around you,
Look around you, look around you, uh yeah

(Great stuff huh?)

MR. BOBBY WOMACK PASSED AWAY IN 2014. RIP TO A GREAT ARTIST

"Smooth Jazz is an outgrowth of fusion, one that emphasizes its polished side. Generally, smooth jazz relies on rhythms and grooves instead of improvisation. There are layers of synthesizers, lite-funk rhythms, lite-funk bass, elastic guitars, and either trumpets, alto, or soprano saxophones."

urbandictionary.com says:
"The kind of music played on The Weather Channel."
and
"A niche form of pop music that is appreciated by people who don't like jazz. They think it sounds cool to be a smooth jazz listener and don't realize that it's not jazz at all. To paraphrase Mark Twain, the difference between jazz and smooth jazz is like the diffference between lightning and a lightning bug."
and
"A musical genre characterized by bland instrumental watered-down jazz; the soundtrack for men in between mid-life-crisises. Every city has a radio station devoted to this brand of ambient droning -- usually called 'The Oasis.' " (I especially like that one.)

And Wikipedia says:
"Smooth jazz is a commercially oriented, crossover jazz which came to prominence in the 1980s, displacing the more venturesome jazz fusion from which it emerged. It avoids the improvisational "risk-taking" of jazz fusion, emphasizing melodic form. Much of the music was initially "a combination of jazz with easy-listening pop music and lightweight R&B" "

If it's smooth and it's jazzy? It's Smooth Jazz. So say I, the Dr.
