Lyrics:

You're a good soldier
Choosing your battles
Pick yourself up
And dust yourself off
Get back in the saddle

You're on the front line
Everyone's watching
You know it's serious
We're getting closer
This isn't over

The pressure's on
You feel it
But you got it all
Believe it

When you fall get up, oh oh
If you fall get up, eh eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
'Cause this is Africa

Tsamina mina, eh eh
Waka waka, eh eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
This time for Africa"

Gavin Adcock is a Georgia native born and raised in Watkinsville. Former Georgia
Southern University football player, Gavin grew up working on his family cattle farm and
dreamed of riding bulls in the PBR. He started writing songs in high school, but it wasn’t
until the spring of 2021, when Adcock tore his knee playing football, that he used his
healing time to record and release his first original single. Since then, Gavin has
released multiple singles, collectively amassing over 1 billion global streams including
the fan-favorite, RIAA PLATINUM-certified, “A Cigarette,” GOLD-certified songs “Run
Your Mouth,” “Deep End,” and “Four Leaf Clover,” along with his major label debut
album, Actin’ Up Again, which was crowned the largest major-label country debut from a
solo male artist released in 2024. With more than 15 million on-demand U.S. streams
week of release, Actin’ Up Again was also 2024’s top streaming major-label debut
across the whole genre. One year after his thunderous album Actin’ Up Again released
worldwide, Adcock is set to release his next album, Own Worst Enemy, on August 15,
2025. Throughout the meteoric year from Actin’ Up Again (2024) to Own Worst Enemy
(2025), the Georgia native has won over the hearts of both Country music fans and the
Country music industry alike. Adcock received his first industry voted award nomination
for New Male Artist of the Year for the 60 th ACM Awards, in addition to being nominated
for MusicRow Magazine’s “DISCOVERY ARTIST OF THE YEAR” award for the 37 th
Annual MusicRow Awards. Taking his music to the fans, Adcock has sold out music
venues from coast-to-coast via multiple headline tours such as the Monster Energy
Outbreak Tour Presents: Gavin Adcock, his Actin’ Up Again (Again) Tour, and at
present his Need To Tour, which kicked off in May 2025. Adcock also joins superstar
Morgan Wallen for select dates on Wallen’s I’m The Problem Tour, as well as a plethora
of new headline dates and major festival appearances being added throughout the rest
of 2025.

Lyrics:
Don’t you miss
The breathlessness
The wildness in the eye
Come home late in the morning light

Bloodshot dreams
Under streetlight spells
A truth no one can tell
I was still a secret to myself

Light me up I’m wasted in the dark
Rushmere restless hearts in the end
Get my head out of the ground
Time don’t let us down again

Take me back to empty lawns
And nowhere else to go
You say come get lost in a fairground crowd

Where no one knows your name
There’s only honest mistakes
There’s no price to a wasted hour

Light me up I’m wasted in the dark
Rushmere restless hearts in the end
Get my head out of the ground
Time don’t let us down again

What’s lost
Is gone and buried deep
Take heart and let it be
Don’t lie to yourself

There’s madness and magic in the rain
There’s beauty in the pain
Don’t lie to yourself

Light me up I’m wasted in the dark
Rushmere restless hearts
There’s something we might miss
A whole life in a glimpse

Well I’m still working it out
Time don’t let us down again

Cause I won’t wait
Get my head out of the ground
Time don’t let us down again

A new plaintiff, Grace O’Marcaigh, is accusing Sean “P. Diddy” Combs and his son Christian “King” Combs of assault in a new civil filing in Los Angeles. O’Marcaigh says she was working as a steward in 2022 when Christian Combs assaulted her in a yacht’s makeshift recording studio. Music producer Lil Rod Jones was also reportedly in the room and claims to have audio recordings of the incident. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber breaks down the latest lawsuit.

1994 some argue is the best and most important year in hip hop history, although to me there’s no argument and more certainty. Fugees first album, Method man, Outcast, Jeru, Scarface putting out 1 of 3 5 mic albums considered hip hop perfection along with Illmatic and my favorite album of all time The Notorious BIG “Ready To Die”. 1994 the year in rap can be cited on and on for the outstanding year it was and a small piece of that year was also the debut of a 14 year old rap prodigy that was supposed to grow into the next big thing. Even Jay-Z later in his book says he admired and looked up to Shyheim’s young rap career, even though Jay-z is 10 years his senior. The two featured on Big Daddy Kane’s Show and prove song from his album Daddy’s Home, which also came out in 1994. He had songs with Big L, Method Man and Wu Tang Clan, and was signed to record deal with Virgin records for an amount unheard of at the time. He went on to release his debut in 94 that became the #7 album in rap and the 52nd best album in the country according to Billboard’s top 200. He even began his acting career in films like Original Gangstas, Preacher’s wife and the t.v series parenthood. Things was moving as fast as you could imagine for a 13 year old with a major label deal, 30,000 dollars cash in his pockets, Jewelry, and no one around to tell him what to do or how late to stay out at night, with his mom heavy on drugs, his dad in prison and his grand parents passing away when he was 11 years old. Unguided and shooting at his future in the dark, he continued down the unforgiving path of life in the streets. From there, what happened? Guiding a Prodigy: Shyheim The Forgotten Child!
