Suge discusses the history of the grooming of Black talent in the music industry. Starting with Michael Jackson and Berry Gordy, Suge traces a line that includes Russell Simmons, Andre Harrell, Puffy, Usher and others. Suge shares his views on how so many Black entertainers feel that they have to change their looks, change the way they talk and are made to feel uncomfortable in their own skin. Suge shifts gears and directly addresses Snoop Dogg about his involvement with the “new” Death Row Records.

2:40 Why people used to call the music business “devil’s music”

3:00 Suge talks about knowing Michael Jackson and how his father tried to protect his kids from the underbelly of the music business

4:30 Berry Gordy’s secret life and his relationship with Michael Jackson

6:20 Suge talks about the relationship between Russell Simmons, Andre Harrell and Puffy

9:06 Suge talks about Dr. Dre working with the kids’ group Immature and the problem that developed with their manager/producer Chris Stokes

11:49 Suge talks about the double standards of how USC has treated OJ Simpson and Reggie Bush as opposed to others like Dr. Dre & Jimmy Iovine

15:58 Suge and Dave discuss how Hip-Hop was always about being true to yourself and how things have changed over the years

20:06 Suge talks about the ownership of Death Row Records and sends a direct message to Snoop Dogg

Lyrics:

If I were a boy
Even just for a day
I'd roll outta bed in the morning
And throw on what I wanted and go
Drink beer with the guys
And chase after girls
I'd kick it with who I wanted
And I'd never get confronted for it.
'Cause they'd stick up for me.

If I were a boy
I think I could understand
How it feels to love a girl
I swear I'd be a better man.
I'd listen to her
'Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted
'Cause he's taken you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed

Lyrics:
Turn the lights on
Every night I rush to my bed
With hopes that maybe I'll get a chance to see you
When I close my eyes I'm going out of my head
Lost in a fairytale, can you hold my hands and be my guide?
Clouds filled with stars cover your skies
And I hope it rains, you're the perfect lullaby
What kinda dream is this?
You could be a sweet dream or a beautiful nightmare
Either way I don't wanna wake up from you
(Turn the lights on)
Sweet dream or a beautiful nightmare
Somebody pinch me, your love's too good to be true
(Turn the lights on)

Lyrics:

y no vuelvas jamás

Y si acaso piensas que esta vez voy a perdonar
ya verás, que nunca más me vuelves a engañar
Ya lárgate

¿Qué sabes tu de mi? No me hagas reir
tu creías que eras imprescindible
pero sin tu amor no voy a morirme, baby
¿Qué sabes tu de mi? No me hagas reir
me verás con otro hombre a mi lado
Ya lo ves, traidor, voy a sustituirte...
a olvidar tu amor

In this episode of Million Dollaz Worth of Game, we sit down with the legendary music producer Timbaland. Timbaland has one of the most impressive resumes of all time, being the creative genius behind major hits with some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Missy Elliott, just to name a few. Timbaland shares his insights on music history, the evolution of sound, and the secrets behind some of his iconic hits. He also talks about his early days and some never before heard stories such when he was in a music group with Pharrell, his rivalry and collaboration with Swizz Beatz, and his role as a mentor for young artists. Timbaland also opens up about his personal struggles with drug addiction, how he overcame it, and how he stays healthy and motivated. A must-watch episode for anyone who loves music, culture, and inspiration. We couldn't leave Timbaland's studio without witnessing the process so Timbaland and his crew cooked up a beat on the spot exclusively for the Million Dollaz Worth of Game family. We encourage everyone to use this beat and send in what you came up with for a chance to be featured across all MDWOG platforms! Use #TIMBOxMDWOG
