Virtually unknown to the world, then after an appearance on the 1980’s TV talent show called Star Search, Jimmy Salvemini had clearly made an impression on Luther Vandross.
Luther had just finished producing Jimmy’s album, and the plan was to take Jimmy and his brother Lawrence - who was also his manager - to listen to the final product, and afterwards, go and celebrate at dinner.
Then life threw the biggest curveball ever. Luther Vandross ended up driving his Mercedes Benz on the wrong side of the road for just long enough to collide with oncoming traffic, killing one of his passengers.
It's another one of Ti's Hot Mess History scandals.
