What Happened To Pop/Rock Singer Anastacia? | Why Her Career Never Took Off In The U.S. Hotney 6 Streams • 3 years ago

When we talk about 2000s pop icons, it doesn’t take long for the likes of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera to quickly bag a mention. But there’s a certain powerhouse singer who always tends to be left out. Anastacia had it all: an inspiring origin story, the immediately recognizable vocals and hot ‘fits completed with her signature tinted glasses. But with the music industry putting such an emphasis on “young” talent – particularly in the case of women – she lied about her age to get her foot in the door which probably ended up being the best move she could’ve ever made.

What Happened To Jagged Edge? | Reckless Behavior, Out of Control Egos & Drama With Destiny' Hotney 6 Streams • 3 years ago

R&B group Jagged Edge could’ve gotten lost in the abyss of other groups that looked and sounded very similar to them in the ‘90s. But they managed to carve out their own path right from the start and went on to achieve incredible success into the early 2000s.

What Happened To '90s R&B Group Silk? | Issues With Keith Sweat, Money, Brandy's Mom S Hotney 6 Streams • 3 years ago

They may have grown up singing gospel tunes in church but, it would be a song about wanting to get freaky with a woman that would take this group to the top of the music charts. R&B group Silk, originally consisting of Timothy "Timzo" Cameron, James "Jimmy" Gates, Jr., Johnathen "John John" Rasboro, Tyga Graham and Albert Allen, came together in Atlanta, Georgia in the late ‘80s. Like so many soulful groups before them, the quintet honed their singing skills as choir boys in church. At one point, cousins Timzo and Jimmy started their own little gospel group. Also, like many other artists mainly surrounded by gospel, the cousins found other ways to get their fix of secular music like The Temptations, LeVert, New Edition and Keith Sweat. Keith would actually later play a major role in Silk’s career accomplishments as well as, according to the group, some disappointments.

Lyrics:

I'll tell ya what I did last night
I came home, say around a quarter to three
Still so high, hypnotized
In a trance, from his body
So buttery brown and tantalizing
You would have thought I needed help
With the feeling that I felt
So shook I had to catch my breath
Oops! There goes my shirt up over my head, oh my
Oops! There goes my skirt droppin' to my feet, oh my
Oh! Some kind of touch caressing my legs, oh my
Oh! I'm turnin' red who could this be
I tried and I tried to avoid
But this thing was happening
Swallow my pride, let it ride
And parted, but this body felt just like mine
I got worried
I looked over to the left
A reflection of myself
That's why I couldn't catch my breath
Oops! There goes my shirt up over my head, oh my
Oops! There goes my skirt droppin' to my feet, oh my
Oh! Some kind of touch caressing my legs, oh my
Oh! I'm turnin' red who could this be
I looked over to my left
Mmm, I was lookin' so good I couldn't reject myself
I looked over to my left
Mmm, I was feelin' so good I had to touch myself
I looked over to the left
Mmm, I was eyein' my thighs, butter pecan brown
I looked over to the left
Mmm, Coming out of my shirt and then my skirt came down
Oops! There goes my shirt up over my head, oh my
Oops! There goes my skirt droppin' to my feet, oh my
Oh! Some kind of touch caressing my legs, oh my
Oh! I'm turnin' red who could this be
Oops! There goes my shirt up over my head, oh my
Oops! There goes my skirt droppin' to my feet, oh my
Oh! Some kind of touch caressing my legs, oh my
Oh! I'm turnin' red who could this be

Burning Down The Barn
Ben Stennis / Jim Beavers / Brad Rempel
Performed by: Hunter Brothers

Everybody knows it’s where everybody goes
When the sun sinks down on Friday
There’s a half a mile of 4 wheels
Cutting through the corn fields
Jamming up a dirt road driveway

Great grandpa hammer and a saw
Built this place from the floor up
But I bet he didn’t know a hundred years ago
Tonight it’s gonna get a little tore up

We gonna kick the dirt right of these boots
Blow the top right off this roof
Dance on tractors swing from rafters

Country girls and country boys
making’ all that country noise
Why’d that chicken cross the road?
To get to this party
Burnin’ down the barn
Blowin’ up this farm
Don’t mean any harm we’re just burn burn burnin’ down the barn

It’s hot out on the dance floor open up the barn door
Let a little cool breeze blow in
Put your hand in your honey’s hand spin her all around
Keep the sawdust smoking’ till the walls fall down

We gonna kick the dirt right of these boots
Blow the top right off this roof
Dance on tractors swing from rafters

Country girls and country boys
making’ all that country noise
Why’d that chicken cross the road?
To get to this party
Burnin’ down the barn
Blowin’ up this farm
Don’t mean any harm we’re just burn burn burnin’ down the barn
Burnin’ down the barn
Burnin’ down the barn

Great grandpa hammer and a saw
Built this beauty from the floor up
But I bet he didn’t know a hundred years ago
Tonight it’s gonna get a little tore up

kick the dirt right of these boots
Blow the top right off this roof
Dance on tractors swing from rafters

Country girls and country boys
making’ all that country noise
Why’d that chicken cross the road?
To get to this party
Burnin’ down the barn
Blowin’ up this farm
Don’t mean any harm we’re just burn burn burnin’ down the barn
Burnin’ down the barn
Burnin’ down the barn
