My first musical experience with Ginuwine’s music was his second album in 99 and the single anxious. As a kid I didn’t quite understand the subject matter of the song, but immediately you could hear his music was was like no other and his ability to entertain on screen was of superstar quality. In diving into his background in music I learned Ginuwine was a bright upcoming rnb star on his second go round with success, going platinum first with his debut album that sold over 2 million copies behind the hit song “Pony”, an rnb classic that also enjoyed platinum success and was the #1 song in rnb in 1996. His second album released 3 years later but made it clear fans were waiting for the drop in that album becoming his best selling and highest peaking at the time. Another platinum album filled in 2001, solidifying Ginuwine wasn’t just a 1 or 2 trick Pony so to speak. He seemed here to stay, especially when he dropped his single “Differences”, my favorite Ginuwine song, and his second #1 rnb hit that peak at 4 on the billboard charts. His highest billboard peaking song and second career top 10. R&B superstar was written all over Ginuwine, but instead his music hit a decline throughout the 2000s and by the end of the decade he released his final top 10 album and was gone from the game. I intended to shoot "Sing WIth Me" in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. But when I showed up to film, the bridge was....CENSORED by FOG (omg!!!). I was REALLY disappointed. And then, faced with a decision to cancel the shoot or film anyway. I chose to film anyway because of a coin toss. And here's why I'm glad I did:

Turns out, so many people were disappointed by the lack of the Golden Gate Bridge (including those who flew from outside the country just to see it). But THIS Chinese man named CJ set the theme for the whole day: Even in times of disappointment, let's sing, have fun, and appreciate life ANYWAY. All I can say is, I'm GLAD I did not cancel.

As a musician, I'm all about creating musical experiences that have people feeling happy and free, and that's why the "Sing With Me" series exists. Since 2018, I have asked thousands of random people to sing with me on camera. A lot of people have said no, some have said no initially but changed their minds to yes, and some have said yes right away. I ask these people to sing with one purpose: to create a way for them to experience a sense of happiness and freedom they did not feel before. And much of the time, this actually works (and that makes ME happy).

Michael Jackson squirmed in his seat when he was asked on camera whether he's a pedophile in newly unearthed video footage obtained by DailyMailTV. Jackson, who at the time was 37, was quizzed by lawyers about allegations of child sexual abuse at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York City on March 1, 1996. Jackson giggles seconds after he was questioned on molesting allegations against youngsters Macaulay Culkin, Jordan Chandler and Brett Barnes. During the video Jackson compared himself to Jesus and ranted at how he's been misrepresented. The three hours of VHS tapes were filmed as part of a private lawsuit taken out by five Neverland employees against Jackson for wrongful dismissal. The footage comes as a doc with Jackson's former child companions Wade Robson and James Safechuck claim he sexually abused them at Neverland ranch.

Slick Rick is one of the most iconic rappers in the history of hip-hop. Slick Rick who was born Ricky Walters, rose to fame in the 1980s with his distinctive storytelling style and his signature eyepatch. Songs like "La-Di-Da-Di"; "Children's Story" and "Hey Young World" became legendary tracks, sampled by everyone in the industry thousands of times and fully solidified Rick's name in the Hip-Hop world. However, despite his success, Slick Rick's career was derailed by legal troubles. In 1990, he was arrested for his involvement in a shooting incident that left his cousin and an innocent bystander injured. He was later sentenced to five years in prison for the crime, a sentence that many in the hip-hop community felt was excessive.

Despite his incarceration, Slick Rick continued to release music from behind bars. His third album, "The Ruler's Back," was released in 1991 and featured some of his most beloved songs, including "Children's Story" and "Hey Young World." The album's success helped solidify Slick Rick's place in the pantheon of hip-hop legends.

BOSTON (AP) September 28, 1995 - Rhythm-and-blues singer Bobby Brown, husband of singer Whitney Houston, escaped injury early today when a gunman opened fire outside a run-down city bar, but his sister’s fiance was killed.

Steven Sealy, 31, of Chamblee, Ga., was shot in the head while sitting in Brown’s cream-colored Bentley. Brown, 26, was standing outside the car with a bodyguard. The shooting of Sealy set off a brief gun battle, with more than a dozen shots fired, witnesses said.

The incident took place shortly before 1 a.m. as Brown left the Biarritz Lounge in the city’s Roxbury section, a block from where he grew up. - Associated Press
