Shanice | True Story of “I Love Your Smile,” Singing For Michael Jackson & Ella Fitzgerald Hotney 27 Streams • 7 months ago

See Shanice as Michelle Obama in 44: The Musical: https://44theobamamusical.com/

Shanice sits down with Shawn Stockman for a deep, story-filled conversation that feels like an R&B history lesson and a behind-the-scenes masterclass. She takes us back to the moment “I Love Your Smile” became a global hit, including the label decisions she fought for and the ones she wishes had gone differently. The conversation also comes full circle with the childhood dream she spoke out loud as a kid—wanting to meet Michael Jackson—and how that dream later became reality when she ended up singing background vocals on several of his records.

Along the way, Shanice shares incredible “Easter egg” moments from her career: booking a commercial at just nine years old alongside Ella Fitzgerald, winning Star Search, and navigating the unpredictable realities of the music industry. She also opens up about losing her record deal while five months pregnant, a moment that revealed how labels treated female artists at the time. From unexpected collaborations to legendary industry connections—including stories involving Justin Timberlake, Babyface, and Barbra Streisand—this episode is packed with music history, honesty, and unforgettable moments.

Lyrics:
Well b*tch it’s BigX and I run with the click they call 600
Way before all of this rap I was outside trying to get money
Every n*gga pissed me off paid their debt or know I’m coming
Got on all these chains feel like a slave
Pop of know I ain’t running
B*tch it’s 6WA so I might spazz on you in public
PB up the drac I told him chill cuz I know he gon dump it
Pass that b*tch to Lumpy
He know how to shhhh lets change the subject
S*ht we getting paid and having sh*t so I can’t tell bout nothing
Well it’s the loccsta groova
Original tiny hoova
600 active member ducking the crash unit
Ganging, type of n*gga that do drive bys in a Buick
Bumping music head bobbing have em screaming I do it
Ummm minute made long dreads high fade
Dark skin big d*ck got the girls deranged
Ro$ama mr. p*ssy sensei
All hail to the 6WA
6 in the morning feds at my door
Should’ve seen them n*ggas coming but the cameras was broke
Tried to run to the back
And flush all of the dope
Ram truck hit the spot now we all on the floor
B*tch that’s my favorite word
If she ain’t sucking d*ck then kick that he to the curb
B*tch go dig your homies out the dirt
Caught lacking in traffic and put his ss on a shirt
Neighborhood dope man tell me what you need
Where I’m from this sh*t get routhless like my name is Eazy E
I got the formula DOC
Dr. Dre got the chronic for cheap
Sixer with attitude who want some beef
Give a f*ck about the law I hate police
Give a f*ck about jail show me my cell
Get my b*tch on the line go make my bail
Touchdown cause hell I’m back making sales
Somewhere in the cliff bussing down I’m a regular
Got it rolling and rocking beat up the box like I’m rocky
Real trap n*gga baby no flocking
Can’t ride with me if you doing no sliding
Lipo with the pole trying to get a new body

Bruno Mars - Risk It All

The Romantic – the new album from Bruno Mars, available now. Listen now: https://brunomars.lnk.to/TheRomantic

Directed by Bruno Mars & Daniel Ramos

Lyrics:
For just a chance to win your heart
you could set the bar
beyond the stars
I’ll do anything anything you ask me to

Say you want the moon watch me learn to fly
Ain't a mountain you could point to i wouldn’t climb
It's crazy but it’s true. There’s nothing I won't do.
I’d risk it all for you

To hold your hand and call you mine
I’m trynna be your man
til the end of time
oh i’ll do anything, anything you ask me to

I would run through the fire just to be by your side
if your heart’s on the line you could take mine
It's crazy but it’s true. There's nothing I won’t do.
I'd risk it all for you

I would swim across the sea just to show you
sacrifice my life just to hold you
I could go on and on to prove that you belong
here in my arms

Say you want the moon watch me, learn to fly
ain’t a mountain you could point to I wouldn’t climb

It's crazy but it’s true. There's nothing I won’t do
I’d risk it all for you (2x)

Bruno Mars - Why You Wanna Fight? [Official Audio] Hotney 11 Streams • 7 months ago

Bruno Mars - Why You Wanna Fight?

The Romantic – the new album from Bruno Mars, available now. Listen now: https://brunomars.lnk.to/TheRomantic

Lyrics:
Why you wanna fight with me baby?
Wouldn’t you rather make love tonight?
Why you wanna fight with me baby?
Let me show you I can make it right

You want me knockin' on the door, crying in the rain
Babygirl for you I’ll do all them things
(I’m beggin, beggin’ don’t go) don’t go baby no no no
I’ve apologized but you keep going on
Ain’t too proud to say it I admit I was wrong
Stop playin’ with me come back home

Why you wanna fight with me baby? (Why you wanna fight?)
Wouldn’t you rather make love tonight? (Sweet love)
Why you wanna fight with me baby? (Why you wanna fight?)
Let me show you I can make it right

Just run into my arms let’s just start again
Girl I’ll call your mama plead with your friends
(I’ll do it, do it for us) I’ll do it for us cuz enough is enough
We can work things out don’t say that it’s through
You may hate me now but I never stop loving you
That’s what we not gon do

Why you wanna fight with me baby? (Why you wanna fight?)
Wouldn’t you rather make love tonight? (Sweet love)
Why you wanna fight with me baby? (Why you wanna fight?)
Let me show you I can make it right

(Come Home, Home) I can’t stop thinkin’ about you girl
My world just ain’t the same without you girl
(Come Home, Home) If your heart hurt just like mine
Imma ask you one more time

Why you wanna fight with me baby? (Why you wanna fight?)
Wouldn’t you rather make love tonight? (Sweet love)
Why you wanna fight with me baby? (Why you wanna fight?)
Let me show you I can make it right tonight
