Im so blessed to say I filmed my first Amapiano mix in the Beautiful country of Belize! This Amazing Mayan Ruin is called Xunantunich and its located in San Jose Succotz, Belize! The Temple you see in this video is known today as El Castillo (Spanish for “The Castle”) It is believed that Xunantunich was founded during the Preclassic Maya Era (roughly 1000 BC to 250 AD). This Country is absolutely amazing! and it's one of The most Beautiful Jewels I have ever seen! Make sure you Visit Belize one day!

Cowboys From Hell - The Pantera Story ┃ Documentary Hotney 4 Streams • 4 years ago

On July 24, 1990, Pantera released their 5th studio album, Cowboys From Hell. An album that is widely regarded as one of the most influential Metal records of the early 90s.

It’s considered to be the band's breakthrough album and it signified a dramatic transition in their career. They had gone from an all out Van Halen loving Hair Metal 4 piece, to an innovative grove metal thrash band.

Cowboys from Hell would be their first major label release and would see them touring with Judas Priest, as well as playing the iconic Monsters Of Rock Festival to a crowd of over 500,000 people.

The early 90s Pantera sound truly was something remarkable but it had some stiff competition to contend with. Megadeth were riding high with Rust In Peace, Judas Priest had unleashed Painkiller and Alice In Chains were pioneering the new Seattle Sound movement known as Grunge, with their debut LP, Facelift.

Pantera though had something very unique about them in the form of two passionate musical loving brothers, Vincent Paul Abbott and Darrell Lance Abbott. Both born in Texas in the 1960s, the pair would be born into a world of music.

And although the real Pantera journey began in 1990 with the release of Cowboys From Hell, their journey to becoming Pantera started long before they were even born with their Father, Jerry Abbott.

Jerry Abbott was an American country music singer, sound engineer, and record producer. This is the man that would not only encourage his two young sons, Vinnie and Darrell, to become musicians, he would also produce Pantera’s first 4 albums. He was also becoming a teenager in the mid 50s when Elvis Presley was about to change music forever with the birth of Rock and Roll.

It seemed that fate had only one thing in store for the Abbott brothers and they would be at the forefront of Heavy Metal for decades to come. Along with the classic line-up that included Rex Brown and Phil Anselmo, they would influence Metal Music in a way that will never be witnessed again. A one of a kind band, with a one of a kind sound, this is Cowboys From Hell, The story of Pantera.

In the beginning, Richard was very keen on trying to replicate American styles and seeing if it could be absorbed into the music he was writing at the time but quickly realised that it simply wouldn’t work. Till even tried to sing in English, however, they decided that the German language would not only help to distinguish them from others, it was also much easier for them to convey the content of their lyrics using their mother tongue. Singer Till would also take a very simple approach when it came to writing lyrics. He would generally write hard sounding lyrics for harder riffs, and softer lyrics for softer riffs.

Rammstein, as individuals, had a variety of influences when it came to music. Till Lindemann's first record was Alice Cooper's Welcome To My Nightmare, along with one of his favourite albums being “Stomrbringer” by Deep Purple, and he was also a big fan of Chris Isaak.

Richard was into the American punk band Dead Kennedys as well as the English electro band Depeche Mode, and Oliver Riedel remembers hearing his mother playing Bob Dylan non-stop at home, with keyboardist Flake took cues from German 80s pop/rock band Die Arzte. It seemed that Motorhead also played a part in the development of the Rammstein sound as Richard remembers their live show leaving a lasting impression on him.

Courtney Love is a controversial figure. As the lead singer of alt rock trailblazers Hole, she notched up a critically acclaimed debut, a platinum selling follow up and a four-time grammy nominated third album. She was featured as one of Barbara Walters' “10 Most Fascinating People of 1995”. She produced rock radio staples like “Violet”, “Miss World” and “Celebrity Skin”. But most know her for her famous husband, and/or her less than personable public persona. As such she's gained a fair bit of scorn, with accusations ranging from “liar” to “murderer”. Today I will be looking at some of the songs that have been inspired by Mrs Love. Including “Bruise Violet” by Babes in Toyland, “I'll Stick Around” by Foo Fighters, “Hollaback Girl” by Gwen Stefani, “Starfuckers Inc” by Nine Inch Nails, “Heart Shaped Box” by Nirvana and “Professional Widow” by Tori Amos.

Rock’n’Roll used to be the gnarliest heaviest genre in town. A genre that embodied rebellion, fast cars and the loudest guitars that late 1950s music had to offer. But as the 60s wore on, coffee and minor rebellion seemed positively childish, popular music needed something harder, and more in-sync with the sex and drugs part of sex, drugs and rock’n’roll. Enter Psychedelic rock, similar to good ol’ Rock’N’Roll but with mind-expanding themes and an intense interest in a girl called Lucy, who was in the Sky with Diamonds. If you know what I mean. But the Summer of Love came and went, the Vietnam war didn’t end despite Hippie opposition and the tragic events of Altamount and the Manson murders made it so that the positivity of the movement seemed blind. A darker sound was needed, and appeared in the form of Metal. The bastard child of rock’n’roll and Psychedelic Rock, Metal was harder, heavier and louder than anything before and became one of the most important genres of all time. But how did we get there? Going via Eddie Cochran, "Misirlou" by Dick Dale "You're Gonna Miss Me" by The 13th Floor Elevators, through "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix, "Sunshine of Your Love" by Cream, "Summertime Blues" by Blue Cheer, "Born to be Wild" by Steppenwolf, "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" by Iron Butterfly, "Helter Skelter" by the Beatles and "21st Century Schizoid Man" by King Crimson? Not to mention "Wicked Woman" by Coven, "Dazed and Confused" by Led Zeppelin And how did we get from Chuck Berry's “Johnny B. Goode” to “Black Sabbath” by Black Sabbath in twelve years? This is How Psychedelic Rock Became Metal.
