Lyrics

First you treat me like an afterthought you ignore me and you’re pushing me to the side
Then you pull me you’re a full moon I’m the ocean and you’re dragging out the tide
I’m swept up in your f*^^] game you annoy me then you make me want to scream
You leave me craving for a piece of you then I throw it up but I can’t get rid of the taste
Ah
And you’re out of your mind if you’re thinking that I’ll come along come along for the
Out of your head yeah you’re out of your mind if you’re thinking that I’ll come along come along for the ride
Touch me when you want to touch only love me when you’re wanting to feel loved
And I’d call you selfish but you’d laugh at that then we’d argue until I give it up
And I’m starting to think that you enjoy the rush like the feeling think it gets you up
Bet it’s f* fun yeah I know what you’re thinking
Ah and you're out of your mind if you’re thinking that I’ll come along come along for the
Out of your head yeah you’re out of your mind if you’re thinking that I’ll come along come along for the ride

Lyrics:

Sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry but I guess you know now
Baby
I took a half and she took the whole thing slow down
Baby
We took a trip now we on your block and it’s like a ghost town
Baby
Where do these niggas be at when they say they doing all this and all that
Tired of beefing of bums you can’t even pay me enough me to react

Been waking up in the crib and sometimes I don’t even know where I’m at
Please don’t play that niggas songs in this party I can’t even listen to that
Anytime that I run into somebody it must be a victory lap eh
Shawty come sit on my lap eh
They saying Drizzy just snap
Distance between us is not like a store this isn’t a close able gap
I’ve seen some niggas attack
And don’t end up making it back

I know that they at the crib going crazy down bad what they had didn’t last Damn baby
Sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry but I guess you know now
baby
I took a half and she took the whole thing slow down
Baby
We took a trip now we on your block and it’s like a ghost town
Baby
Where do these niggas be at when they say they doing all this and all that

I’m in the trenches relax
Can you not play that lil boy in the club cause we do not listen to rats
We in the line I buy her a wig she tellin me Tay is the best
Point at that nigga who act like a killer
But you only want from the neck
I’m like the baby I’m not just a rapper you play with me you gon get stressed
Ooooh
Bring Drake to the hood
Surround Drake around Drakes
Even though I got a case
Imma do what it takes

And I never been embraced
And the moneys hard to make
So I bet they on they face right

I know that they at the crib going crazy down bad what they had didn’t last Damn baby
Sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry but I guess you know now
baby
I took a half and she took the whole thing slow down
Baby
We took a trip now we on your block and it’s like a ghost town
Baby
Where do these niggas be at when they say they doing all this and all that

When he tell the story that’s not how it went
Know they be lying 100 percent
Move out the Ritz forgot bout the Bent
Valet just called to tell me come get it
I knocked that boy off I don’t want no credit
If it Was me they wouldn’t regret it
left me for dead and now they want dead it
heart is still beating
My niggas still eating
The backyard it look like the Garden of Eden
Pillow talk with Me she spilling the tea and then shawty came back and said she didn’t mean it
Its hard to believe it

I know that they at the crib going crazy down bad what they had didn’t last Damn baby
Sometimes we laugh and sometimes we cry but I guess you know now
baby
I took a half and she took the whole thing slow down
Baby
We took a trip now we on your block and it’s like a ghost town
Baby
Where do these niggas be at when they say they doing all this and all that

Yeah, it do not matter
Turned to a savage, pocket got fatter, she call me daddy
Smokin' that gas, gone off that Xanny, she on the powder
Nowadays I am on, my haters got sadder
Money got longer, speaker got louder, car got faster
Turned to a savage, pocket got fatter, she call me daddy
Smokin' that gas, gone off that Xanny, she on the powder
Nowadays I am on, my haters got sadder
Money got longer, speaker got louder, car got faster

[Verse 1]
Money so old, dollars spoiled (Spoiled)
Yeah, my lil' bitch so spoiled (Spoiled)
Yeah, I rub her down in oil
Yeah, I got money, now you know it, yeah
Diamonds on my teeth
Yeah, your shit look like foil
Yeah, Chris Brown said these hoes ain't loyal, yeah
None of these hoes got no morals, yeah
All my niggas G-ed up
Yeah, my glasses be Dita
Never thought it would be days I could kick my feet up (Huh)
Never thought that she would need me that much if I leave her

[Chorus]
It do not matter
Turned to a savage, pocket got fatter, she call me daddy
Smokin' that gas, gone off that Xanny, she on the powder
Nowadays I am on, my haters got sadder
Money got longer, speaker got louder, car got faster
Turned to a savage, pocket got fatter, she call me daddy
Smokin' that gas, gone off that Xanny, she on the powder
Nowadays I am on, my haters got sadder

All of this was faction
No time for actin', all this money lastin'
Like, go out to eat, get that blackened salmon
When I'm wit' my girl, we Pharrell and Vashtie
Wait, huh? That mean we are not lastin'
In that pussy, you know I like it rough, then I'm just blastin'
Yeah, tell that lil' bitch that I'm really from Mars
Uh, yeah, bitch, do not start
Yeah, pull up, my car automatic
Yeah, uh, done with the start, yeah

[Chorus]

Today we take a look at whatever happened to the 90s band Third Eye Blind following the huge success of their self titled debut album that spawned three huge singles including "Semi Charmed Life", "Jumper" and "How's It Going to Be" in addition to frontman Stephan Jenkins

what's going on my fellow rock-and-rollers. Now success lawsuits infighting and feuds as well as backstabbing those are the words that I would use to describe Third Eye Blind career , so whatever happened to the bandwell you're gonna find out in today's video. Now I love the fact that I grew upin the 90s I can't imagine being a kid
growing up in today's world political
correctness has infected everything and
they just don't make music or movies
like they used to and the late 90s were
a weird time in rock music. Grunge and
alternative rock was on his way out it and it
was replaced by this weird mishmash of
post grunge groups like Bush, Better than
Ezra, Days of the New and more poppy
commercial rock like Goo Goo Dolls Third
Eye Blind and Sugar Ray and then you had
new metal. Now when I think of the more
memorable parts of my childhood I think
of some of the great teenage comedies
including can't hardly wait and American
Pie and the common bond between these
two movies was the rock band Third Eye
Blind who had music featured in both
films. Now Third Eye Blind was huge in
the late nineties and had some big
singles, but whatever happened to those
guys. Nw to say that Third Eye Blind had
overnight success would not be true.
Bandleader and singer Stephan Jenkins
fine-tuned his craft in the Bay Area
during the early to mid 90s before the
band found huge success in 1997 with their
self-titled debut album and the band
would be formed four years prior by the
songwriting duo of Stephan Jenkins and
Kevin Cadogan in San Francisco and
Jenkins influences were pretty eclectic
including parliament-funkadelic
to Joy Division to Cat Stevens and
during his time in college Jenkins would
be diagnosed with chronic fatigue
syndrome, which took away a lot of his
youthful energy for several years but
once he recovered from that condition
Jenkins turned his attention back to
music. But with no label he along with
Cadogan would record a demo of songs
with other local musicians but the
problem was that the demo didn't really
fit in with what was popular on rock
radio at the time, but it would be luck
that truly helped the band out a close
friend of the band became their manager
and they met engineers David Gleason and
Erick Dodd who agreed to work with the
group on their songs.
And at one point Gleeson even helped the
band sneak into George Lucas's Skywalker
Ranch way they recorded some songs It
would be Third Eye Blind demos of how's
it going to be and slow motion that
caught the attention of recording labels
including Dave Massey of Epic Records
who would meet with the band and by the
end of that meeting
Stephen Jenkins had secured an opening
slot for Oasis who were playing San
Francisco that same week Jenkins would
reflect on that meeting saying I think he
liked my directness he wasn't threatened
by it the same way some people were. Now
the opening slot for Oasis was a dream
come true
Third Eye Blind had become used to
playing for dozens of people, but they
were now plaintiff thousands of people
opening for one of the world's biggest
rock bands. And following the opening
slot for Oasis, a bidding war ensued from
record labels and the band would end up
signing with Elektra Records and it
would prove to be one of the biggest
deals for any unsigned bands at that
point in time now. From the moment Third
Eye Blind hit they were inescapable. the
band's debut album would produce three
huge singles with Semi-Charmed Life
Jumper and How's it Going To Be in
addition to two other well-known songs
from the band's catalogue including
Graduate and Losing a whole year Now
those songs would be played to death on
radio and television even to this day
and the band at the end of the day would
sell six million copies of their debut
album just in the US alone and they also
got a highly coveted guest spot on
Saturday Night Live. Now what separated
Third Eye Blind from their peers was
that they were singing about some pretty
dark stuff. It would probably help that
from end Stephan Jenkins was obsessed
with Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground
and their debut album was filled with
lyrics about drug addiction, abuse and
suicide as exemplified in the song Semi
Charmed Life and Jumper but these tracks
were packaged with catchy hooks and
up-tempo feel and poppy choruses and the
lyrical matter did little to dissuade
radio stations from not playing their
tunes now 1999

Lyrics:

Tell me is this what it’s like to breathe?
Escaping the gravity
Drifting in disarray
A fading feeling of what life could be
Sensations of harmony
Lost in the ceaseless routine

Is this all we are?

A fleeting existence flirting with the fire
As the smoke fills our lungs
It’s taking hold of me

Ignite my instincts take back control
When the thoughts burn away
I find comfort in the flames

Tell me is this what it’s like to see?
A visage of clarity
Breathing life into me
A sense of self I never could perceive
Afraid to step aimlessly
Searching for certainty
Illuminate my vision
Set the path of my own intuition
Drifting shiners of ecstasy
Pulling at the seams of a new reality

The Illusion unfolds right in front of me
All the answers I'm seeking are in my reach

Guided by a light
Feeling so alive
As we stare deep into the divine

Is this all we are?

A fleeting existence flirting with the fire
As the smoke fills our lungs
It’s taking hold of me

Ignite my instincts take back control
When the thoughts burn away
I find comfort in the flames

Is this what it's like to breathe?
What it's like to see
Standing on the edge of humanity
Broken soul let go
Erase all that I know
I can feel it pulsating

This life is mine for the taking
Liberate me

Is this all we are?

A fleeting existence flirting with the fire
As the smoke fills our lungs
It’s taking hold of me

Ignite my instincts take back control
When the thoughts burn away
I find comfort in the flames
