Grace Weber - Do4Me (Live Performance) | Vevo Hotney 3 Streams • 3 years ago

Grace Weber - Do4Me. An exclusive performance for Vevo.

If you need proof that the past informs the present, check the way Grace Weber’s childhood work in gospel choirs nourished her fully blossomed career. The 35-year-old Wisconsin native has one of those voices that uses a from-the-heart vibe to invite listeners deeper and deeper into a song. Take last year’s “Lonely,” for example. From floating in a cooing upper register, to rendering a couple gut-shaking ruminations towards the bottom, Weber wrings lots of emotion from a sweet little tune. It’s easy to hear how the R&B atmosphere absorbed early on with Milwaukee’s Central City Youth Choir helps her deliver a sweet punch now. Positive signs about possible paths have always come her way. At 16, she participated in ‘Showtime At The Apollo,’ and during her college years, she got even more serious about music studies. The payoff arrived with her work on Chance the Rapper’s celebrated ‘Coloring Book’ in 2016; she picked up a GRAMMY for her participation on that jewel. The soul grooves she’s so skilled at defined 2021’s ‘A Beautiful Space’ debut; last September she impressed fans with its follow-up, ‘Paperflower,’ and its lead video, “Do4Me.” She recently hit our studio to put a live spin on that one, and the album’s lead track, “Fallin’.” Catch the gospel aura on both performances.

LYRICS
Been waitin' at these crossroads
Forever and a day
On a guy to buy my soul
I spend all night and day
How much harder can I play?
You know I gave my life to rock n' roll
Here we go

Mama begged me please
Yes, she got down on her knees
Said """"""""you'll burn in that Mississippi sun""""""""
But I'm the only one that's standing here
So mama don't you have no fear
I'm either last or I've already won
Here I go

Take me down
Take me down
Take me down
Won't you take me down

Standing at the crossroads
A dried up pen in hand
The conversation went like this
""""""""Tell me your desire why you pulled me from the fire and we'll seal the deal with a kiss""""""""
Said """"""""I wanna raise the dead
Find a note that I can shred
On my walls I scrawl my gods
Don't care what happens when I die
As long as I'm alive
All I wanna do is rock, rock, rock""""""""

Take me down
Take me down
Take me down
Won't you take me down

Oh, sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil Oh!
Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil
Oh!
Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil
Oh!
Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil
Oh!

Take me down
Take me down
Take me down
Won't you take me down

Take me down
(Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil)
Take me down
(Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil, oh)
Won't you take me down
(Sign with the devil, sign with the devil, sign with the devil)
(I got a record deal)

[rampage]
It's atiya, richard of flatbush
Speak up
The word on the street is the rampage return
Uh
[busta]
Hah, one time, two times, three times (no doubt), four times
All my real live soldiers throw your hands up
All my real live women throw your hands up
All my real strong bustas throw your hands up
All my real live players throw your hands up
Hah!
[rampage]
Check it out, like this y'all
The heavyweight brooklyn bomber that can't rest
Love success, i'm gettin money progress
Travellin for free from state to state
That's how i get my idea to create
I'm live motivate, i keep on movin, it's been fubu
I make def jams like rick rubin
I stay on my tippy toes wreckin shows, i'm too slow
You can't peep my ill flow in this burning zone
Keep low like an eskimo
Askin' people, still carry my flow, open the do'
It's the real outlaw, from flatbush to south shore
Givin you more and more
I just came home from tour
It's my time to burn to explore
I'm comin through the floor with low x
I'm fully gassed to the max movin stacks, no fakin jacks
I'm the baddest man on the wax
Messin around with my squad, you get taxed
Shittin' ex-lax, on hot tracks, i can't relax
Breakin' backs, with my nfl quarterbacks
Flipmode deep we bring good things to light
Put down your gun and light
I'm in it to win it
Plus i'm wildin for da night
[busta]
All my mutha*****as in the place to be
You feel right, throw your hands up
We gettin wild for da night
Niggas in the place, if you wanna fight
Serious let's get busy cause we
Wild for da night
My flipmode niggas gettin
Wild for da night
Niggas in new york gettin
Wild for da night
My niggas in the west gettin
Wild for da night
People in the world gettin
Wild for da night (uhh)
My niggas uptown, just throw your hands up, in the place
If you feel right we gettin
Wild for da night
Throw your hands up you gettin
Wild for da night
Niggas 'cross the land gettin
Wild for da night
My niggas downtown we gettin
Wild for da night
[rampage]
Uhh, yo i'm top billin makin a killin
Flip a script like terri mcmillan
I can't help the way i'm feelin...
Caps is fillin', drugs is dealin'
My thug niggas keep illin'
Rampage is higher than the ceiling
Mad appealing brothers who dealin' from brownsville and
I'm ready and willing i'm playin lock and chase
You can get my black race
Bet i, hesitates, i'm movin cash like chase
You about to get laced fifteen across your face
You at the wrong place, you at the wrong time
You didn't use your third vision mind, you sippin wine
Your vision is blind, no you can't see the victory
You in the street it's gettin deep
You rolled up with the wrong peeps, you're the black sheep
You won't protest, drop when your little brother got shot(bang!)
It's gettin hot, now you back around the way
With the same clothes, plus your bum hoes that you chose
They gave up your whereabouts, where you hang out
Who you hang wit, now you gotta get your dome split
You wildin for da night *echoes*
[corus].........
