Memorial Day Weekend is here. Head to Tommy John dot com and take 40% off with code SHAYSHAY — one of the biggest Memorial Day events we’ve ever done. Don’t play around and miss this

Young M.A joins Club Shay Shay for one of her most personal and revealing interviews. Young M.A opens up about the serious health battle that shocked fans after viral videos surfaced showing her in a hospital bed, riding a scooter in public, and dealing with yellow eyes caused by alcohol-related complications.

The Brooklyn rapper speaks candidly about her struggles with drinking, revealing how partying, fame, personal pain, relationships, family issues, and the pressures of the music industry slowly spiraled into daily alcohol consumption. Young M.A explains how her health scare became a turning point, leading her to build a deeper relationship with God, prioritize fitness and healing, and completely reevaluate her lifestyle. She also addresses the viral barber video, the fan secretly recording her in a wheelchair, and the emotional betrayal she felt after private hospital footage was leaked online.

Young M.A shares why she chose to heal herself instead of staying in rehab, how supportive nurses and her mother helped her recover, and why she believes God pulled her through one of the darkest periods of her life. She reflects on her move from New York to Atlanta, getting involved with a liquor brand during a difficult chapter, and how Covid changed her mindset and career trajectory.

The conversation also dives deep into Young M.A’s upbringing in Brooklyn and Virginia, growing up as a tomboy, playing tackle football with boys, wanting to rap since childhood, and always feeling more connected to “the bros” than traditional girl culture. She opens up about her close relationship with her mother, her Puerto Rican father being incarcerated for most of her childhood, and the heartbreaking loss of her older brother, who was stabbed to death by a former friend when she was just 17 years old.

Young M.A emotionally recounts the night she learned her brother had been killed, how the tragedy changed her forever, and why she feels she lost her innocence that day. She explains how grief, trauma, and emotional pain shaped her outlook on life and music. The rapper also discusses her independent grind, the massive success of “OOOUUU,” building a career without depending on major labels, and navigating fame while protecting her privacy.

This powerful interview gives fans a rare look into Young M.A’s personal struggles, faith, family, trauma, recovery, and the resilience that helped her survive one of the hardest periods of her life.

"Living It Up" Lyrics:
My daddy made it out!
Out of the ghetto
Believe in your dreams, believe you me
Don’t let go
We’re living it up!
We’re having a good time baby
I was born uptown
I’m the ghetto dream
Now ain’t life crazy?
My daddy made it out!
Out of the ghetto
Believe in your dreams, believe you me
Don’t let go
We’re living it up!
We’re having a good time baby
I was born uptown
I’m the ghetto dream
Now don’t be lazy

Trench Town have a grandson
Growing up to be somebody
Gong to the Zilly
Yo mi flow phenomenally
I am the kind of thing that doesn’t happen normally
I’m a one in a zillion
Yo Doggy if you want some
Good life finally
Perhaps change your night time hobby
Come out of the old crime lobby
And benefit from your wisdom
Mi a gwan live it up life is better than great
Every other day mi voice a dozen dub plate
Put in our hustle we nuh sit down and wait
Tuff up unnu muscle now is never too late
Fi gwan celebrate inna rich people place
The little Rasta Man from Trench Town fly the gate
With food inna plate and drinks inna crate
We sing till the neighbor dem wake

My daddy made it out!
Out of the ghetto
Believe in your dreams, believe you me
Don’t let go
We’re living it up!
We’re having a good time baby
I was born uptown
I’m the ghetto dream
Now ain’t life crazy?
My daddy made it out!
Out of the ghetto
Believe in your dreams, believe you me
Don’t let go
We’re living it up!
We’re having a good time baby
I was born uptown
I’m the ghetto dream
Now don’t be lazy

Uptown Jamaica born and raised
On the playground is where I spent most of my days
Burning Babylon and dem dirty ways
While watching all the rich kids gone a stay
Uptown Jamaica born and raised
On the playground is where I spent most of my days
Big city life Kingston and Mo-Bay
And if you think mi sell out tell dem ain’t no way
So... Live it up Trench Town to Rema
Riverton, South Side to Jungle
Sherlock, Garden, to Spangler’s,
Payne Land, Three Mile to Back-to,
Portmore, Seaview, Spanish Town,
Nine Mile, Browns Town to Flankers,
Falmouth, West Side, Orange Hill

My daddy made it out!
Out of the ghetto
Believe in your dreams, believe you me
Don’t let go
We’re living it up!
We’re having a good time baby
I was born uptown
I’m the ghetto dream
Now ain’t life crazy?
My daddy made it out!
Out of the ghetto
Believe in your dreams, believe you me
Don’t let go
We’re living it up!
We’re having a good time baby
I was born uptown
I’m the ghetto dream
Now don’t be lazy
