Lyrics:
Come on, skinny love, just last the year
Pour a little salt, we were never here
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
Staring at the sink of blood and crushed veneer

Tell my love to wreck it all
Cut out all the ropes and let me fall
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
Right at the moment, this order's tall

And I told you to be patient
And I told you to be fine
And I told you to be balanced
And I told you to be kind

And in the morning, I'll be with you
But it will be a different kind
'Cause I'll be holding all the tickets
And you'll be owning all the fines

Come on skinny love, what happened here?
Suckle on the hope in light brassiere
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
Sullen load is full, so slow on the split

And I told you to be patient
And I told you to be fine
And I told you to be balanced
And I told you to be kind

And now, all your love is wasted
Then who the hell was I?
'Cause now I'm breaking at the bridges
And at the end of all your lies

Who will love you?
Who will fight?
And who will fall far behind?
Come on skinny love

My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my
My, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my

LYRICS
When I was younger I saw my daddy cry
And curse at the wind
He broke his own heart and I watched
As he tried to reassemble it

And my momma swore
That she would never let herself forget
And that was the day that I promised
I'd never sing of love if it does not exist

But darling,
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

Maybe I know somewhere
Deep in my soul
That love never lasts
And we've got to find other ways
To make it alone
Or keep a straight face
And I've always lived like this
Keeping a comfortable distance
And up until now I've sworn to myself
That I'm content with loneliness

Because none of it was ever worth the risk

Well you are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

I've got a tight grip on reality
But I can't let go of what's in front of me here
I know you're leaving in the morning
When you wake up
Leave me with some kind of proof it's not a dream

You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

And I'm on my way to believing
Oh, and I'm on my way to believing

Twinkie Clark demonstrates two of her gospel compositions -- the Clark Sisters's bluesy hit "Is My Living in Vain" and the classically-inspired ballad "My Soul Loves Jesus." Clark, the recipient of multiple Grammy Awards, is best known as a member of the American gospel singing group the Clark Sisters. She is often referred to as the "Mother of Contemporary Gospel Music" and the "Queen of the B3 Hammond Organ".

GOSPEL with Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr.
The four-part series digs deep into the origin story of Black gospel music, coming out of slavery, blending with the blues tradition, and soaring to new heights during the Great Migration. From Mahalia to Kirk Franklin, in the last century, gospel music has become the dominant form of African American religious expression and provided a soundtrack of healing and uplift to those at the front lines of protest and change.

Kid Ink was born Brian Todd Collins on April Fool’s Day, 1986. His love for music was on display from early in his teenage years and he attended an after-school music program in high school. In the program; he produced hip-hop beats and tracks and it was from there that he became interested in the music scene on a more serious level. He was inspired by Pharrell Williams and Swizz Beats because they had an open ear for music and wrote songs for multiple different genres and people. He also came up with Nipsey Hussle... Lyrics:
You know what she said to me?
She said

You're a player aren't you
And I bet you got hoes
I said, you don't know me like that
I just go with the flow, oh, oh
She said, you can't fool me like that
You're gonna leave me on read
I said, why don't you try me on out
I know you wanna be friends

But friends turn into sleepovers
And sleepovers turn into love
Love turns into jealousy
And now we both fucked up

‘Cause we’re stuck in the middle of lovers and friends
And we're losing every part of the benefits
You hurt me more than I ever knew
But it's shitty 'cause I'm doing the same to you

She said, are we exclusive or not (exclusive or not)
I said, what do you wanna do
Seems like you love me a lot (seems like you love me a lot)
She said, can we stop the joking
And take me seriously (take me seriously)
I said, I'll try my very best
But we'll have to wait and see (let's wait and see)

'Cause talks turn into sleepless nights
And sleepless nights turn into love (turn into love)
Love turns into impatience
And now we both fucked up (hey, hey!)

‘Cause we’re stuck in the middle of lovers and friends (lovers and friends)
And we're losing every part of the benefits (losing benefits)
You hurt me more than I ever knew (than I ever knew)
But it's shitty 'cause I'm doing the same to you

Stuck in the middle
Stuck in the middle with you (hey, hey!)
Stuck in the middle (stuck in the middle)
Stuck in the middle with you-ou-ou (hey, hey!)

‘Cause fights turn into making up
And making up turns into love (Turns into love)
Love turns into forever (Forever)
And that scares both of us (Hey, hey!)

‘Cause I'm stuck in the middle of lovers and friends (Lovers and friends)
And we're losing every part of the benefits (Hey, hey!)
You hurt me more than I ever knew
But it's shitty 'cause I'm doing the same to you

LYRICS:
(Matt Thomas, Kevin Bard, Nolan Sipe)

I love you just the way God made you
Girl he don’t make mistakes
What you call your imperfections
I call beautiful babe
(Tell em Blanc)

The way your hair’s in a mess in the morning
When you open your eyes
The way an hour goes by
When you say that you’ll be ready in five
(Yeah, Uh)
The little dimple on the side of your smile
When you’re laughing at a movie
That you’ve seen about a thousand times
You know girl that I can’t lie

CHORUS
I love you just the way God made you
Girl He don’t make mistakes
What you call your imperfections
I call beautiful babe
So let my eyes be your mirror
And you’re bound to see it too
‘Cause I was made for lovin’
Just the way God made you
God made You
(Just the way, just the way, just the way, just the way God made you)
God made You
(Just the way, just the way, just the way, just the way God made you)

Yeah
The flush in your cheeks when you’re mad
But you say that you’re not
(Yeah)
And the shape of the face that you make
When you’re taking a shot
(Taking a shot)
The little white lie that you told the security guard
At the hotel pool when we got caught
Yea I was thinking girl you never looked so hot
(You never looked so hot)

REPEAT CHORUS

Girl I ain’t ever gonna try to change ya (come on)
My masterpiece my Mona Lisa
And I need ya
To stay just the way God made ya
(Just the way, just the way, just the way, just the way God made you)
Just the way God made ya
(Just the way, just the way, just the way, just the way God made you)

REPEAT CHORUS

LYRICS
In the wealthiest sections a killer complexion
Is often a great alibi
Valentino couture mixed with violence and gore
Well, I guess I’m a pretty sick guy

With my beauty routines and a fridge full of spleens
Some might say it’s extreme, but it’s time to say goodbye

So to hell with good intentions
So to hell is where I’ll go
But the Devil makes exceptions
For All-American psychos

You’ll find no escape once you’re captured on tape
I’m aware it’s a bit avant-garde
Casually cleaving without ever grieving
But wait, let me give you my card
(That’s bone!)

There is no real me just this dark entity
That cannot be redeemed so it’s time to say goodbye

So to hell with good intentions
So to hell is where I’ll go
But the Devil makes exceptions
For All-American psychos
Hold my calls, I’ll kill them all
So to hell with good intentions
For All-American psychos

Do you like Ice Nine Kills?
Not Really
Their early work was a little bit too “scene” for me
But when ‘The Silver Scream’ came out I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically
The whole album has a refined melodic sensibility that really makes it a cut above the rest…

Hey Paul….ahhhhh!!!

Eric, hello
As my lawyer you know
I’m psychotic, but I’ve crossed the line
I killed Drew, Chris and Mike, stabbed Jose with a Knife
But I don’t think I’m gonna get away with it this time

To hell with good intentions
To hell is where I’ll go
But the Devil makes exceptions
For All-American psychos
Hold my calls, I’ll kill them all
So to hell with good intentions
For All-American, American psychos

This confession has meant nothing…

LYRICS:
Rest your head, here’s a lullaby
A melody for heavy eyes
Early to bed, early to die
Welcome to your worst nightmare

Fast asleep, it’s all in your head now, past the street where they cursed my name
But I won’t be forsaken
Craven my revenge from the shallow grave, where I went down in flames
The beast has been awakened

When night comes creeping, my cruel hand will rock you to sleep

I’m The American Nightmare, with American dreams
Of countin’ the bodies while you count sheep
I’m the American nightmare, yeah I’m livin’ the dream
I’m slashing my way through the golden age of the silver scream
Sweet dreams

Fell in love with hate cause evil fit like a glove
It’s fate that I’m still here
And I won’t be forsaken
Wicked when I was just a man, but sickening now and fed by fear
The beast has been awakened now

They all think it’s just pretend
You’ll never ever sleep again
All your friends are fucking dead
You can’t turn down your own death bed

When night comes creeping, my cruel hand will rock you to sleep

I’m the American Nightmare, with American dreams
of countin’ the bodies while you count sheep

I’m the American Nightmare, yeah I’m livin’ the dream
I’m slashing my way through the golden age of the silver scream

I’m the American Nightmare, I’m the man of your dreams
Where the glove is god, so I’m sinking my claws in the silver scream

One, two, dreams do come true
Three, four, see you at the morgue
Five, six, he'll get his fix
Seven, eight, now shake the twisted hand of fate
Now shake the twisted hand of fate

All your friends are fucking dead

When night comes creeping, my cruel hand will rock you to sleep

I’m the American Nightmare, with American dreams
of countin’ the bodies while you count sheep

I’m the American Nightmare, yeah I’m livin’ the dream
I’m slashing my way through the golden age of the silver scream

I’m the American Nightmare, I’m the man of your dreams
Where the glove is god, so I’m sinking my claws in the silver scream

LYRICS
"Run!"

Crawl through the holes in the evidence
Where Evil has taken up Residence
No faith in what red and white will say
They save the truth for a Rainy Day

Fall through the cracks with the casualties
Where freedom’s thrown out with morality

Become a soldier for the controller
Or battle ’til you beat the game

Are you listening to the whispering?
Is it sinking in ‘cause it’s sickening?
Will you take the bait while you suffocate?
‘Cause you know, something is creeping in the dark

"Run!"

A call to survivors has just come through
“Resist the zombie they’ll make of you”

Call out the lies, blow the storm away
Don’t save the truth for a Rainy Day

Are you listening to the whispering?
Is it sinking in ‘cause it’s sickening?
Will you take the bait while you suffocate?
‘Cause you know, something is creeping in the dark

There is no next level, “All access denied”
Ignorance is past tense
Game over, “You Died”

Become a soldier for the controller
Or battle ’til you beat the game

Are you listening to the whispering?
Is it sinking in ‘cause it’s sickening?
Will you take the bait while you suffocate?
‘Cause you know, something is creeping in the dark

"Run!"

LYRICS:
He drowned in all our sins
He drowned in our mistakes
Fueled by the flood, we pay in blood
The curse of Crystal Lake

Ki-Ki-Ki, Ma-Ma-Ma
Ki-Ki-Ki, Ma-Ma-Ma
Ki-Ki-Ki, Ma-Ma-Ma

We’ve all been laid to rest, our epitaph reads, “MOMMY KNOWS BEST”
A word of warning from beyond the grave that must be understood
Throats get slit in this neck of the woods

She raised him right and he’ll come out to play
When Mother whispers, “Thank God It’s Friday”

He drowned in all our sins
He drowned in our mistakes
Fueled by the flood, we pay in blood
The curse of Crystal Lake

He’s down there deep within
We’ve found there’s no escape
You just scratched the surface of the curse of Crystal Lake

Caught undressed we were laid to rest
A drunken, sex-crazed teenage mess
Killed in the climax of debauchery, we learned the hard way
When he came for our lives on the thirteenth day

She raised him right and he’ll come out to play
When Mother whispers, “Thank God It’s Friday”

He drowned in all our sins
He drowned in our mistakes
Fueled by the flood, we pay in blood
The curse of Crystal Lake

He’s down there deep within
We’ve found there’s no escape
You just scratched the surface of the curse of Crystal Lake

Don’t you know he’ll never be gone for good?
So we’ll never get out of the woods

A machete in one hand and an axe in the other
Steadfast in his mask in the shadow of mother
Ready to resume
You’re all doomed

“Thank God It’s Friday!
Kill for Mommy
Thank God It’s Friday!”

He’ll stop at nothing
Forever hunting
Jason’s coming

He drowned in all our sins
He drowned in our mistakes
Fueled by the flood, we pay in blood
The curse of Crystal Lake

He’s down there deep within
We’ve found there’s no escape
You just scratched the surface of the curse of Crystal Lake

LYRICS:
Here lies the lifeless bride and groom
till’ death do us part came far too soon
Buildings burn and people die all of the time

But I heard that you reap what you sow
So around and around we go
And when you see my face you’ll know

You can’t save yourself or save your soul
When you meet the man who’s life you stole
With weathered wings and broken bones
A flight for the fallen flies the crow
You can’t save yourself

These vengeful thoughts trapped underneath
Rage, scorn, misery
Payback for what you took from me
Hope, love, sanity

I’ve heard that you reap what you sow
So here’s to believing in ghosts
Now when you see my face you’ll know

You can’t save yourself or save your soul
When you meet the man who’s life you stole
With weathered wings and broken bones
A flight for the fallen flies the crow

No forgiveness, just farewell
From the match made in heaven you sent straight to hell
No forgiveness, no escape - may you rest in pieces for your grave mistake

For your grave mistake

You can’t save yourself or save your soul
When you meet the man who’s life you stole
With weathered wings and broken bones
A flight for the fallen flies the crow
You can’t save yourself

No you can’t save yourself
For your grave mistake
You can’t save yourself

Lyrics:

Young teacher, the subject
Of schoolgirl fantasy
She wants him so badly
Knows what she wants to be
Inside her there's longing
This girl's an open page
Book marking, she's so close now
This girl is half his age

Don't stand, don't stand so
Don't stand so close to me
Don't stand, don't stand so
Don't stand so close to me

Her friends are so jealous
You know how bad girls get
Sometimes it's not so easy
To be the teacher's pet
Temptation, frustration
So bad it makes him cry
Wet bus stop, she's waiting
His car is warm and dry

Don't stand, don't stand so
Don't stand so close to me
Don't stand, don't stand so
Don't stand so close to me

Loose talk in the classroom
To hurt they try and try
Strong words in the staffroom
The accusations fly
It's no use, he sees her
He starts to shake and cough
Just like the old man in
That book by Nabokov

Don't stand so close to me
Please don't stand so close to me

Letra:

Dice
Tainy
Ra’ Rauw

No siento la cara…
Una nota rara
Lleno de base, to’a mi ropa cara
No se a donde voy
Nadie sabe nada
Creo que estoy Desenfoca’u…

Jangueando to’s los días
Que salió el sol, no sabía
Diamantes como discos de la RIAA
Mi mano en nadie confía
Le dije María y se llama Sofía
Desenfoca’u….

Buscando suerte

Aunque me divierto
a esta hora todo se siente inverso
Desenfoca’u….

A 100 millas en el expreso
Mientras ella me baja el queso
Campeón en to’ los pesos
Tiren mal de ojo, que yo no creo en eso
Mi ma’i reza por mi, cuando no rezo
Desenfoca’u…

Mala, tu fuiste mala
Tu fuiste mala
No seas mala
Deja que te lo haga
Por última vez en mi cama

¿Dónde? ¿Dónde estás?
Llevo rato llamando
Contesta
No corren las manecillas del reloj
Me tienes en el aire volando
Pero lejos del cielo
Aunque perderte da miedo
En verdad, mejor dime que no

Como cuando no se riegan las flores
Baby, estoy triste
Estoy triste

Llevo rato llamando
Contesta
No corren las manecillas del reloj
Me tienes en el aire volando
Pero lejos del cielo
Aunque perderte da miedo
En verdad, mejor dime que no

¿Dónde estás?
Mejor dime que no
Contesta
Yeah
Ra’ Rauw
Rauw Alejandro
(Me tienes en el aire volando)
Saturno
(Mejor dime que no)

We are releasing this sixth episode of our 70s Radio Hits series just as the channel is poised to reach 40,000 subscribers and 7.7 million views. Our extreme appreciation and gratitude goes to all of you out there who have brought us into your lives and made this possible.

This installment of 70s Radio features songs all from the last five years of the decade with a heavy focus on 1978 and 1979. The mix of styles is interesting because the diversity of Pop music from this era was stunning. You can still hear the Bubblegum and Classic Rock influences from years earlier along with the Funk, Disco and New Wave rhythms that were freshly bursting in from the clubs into the mainstream.

Mahalo for watching and taking this ride with us!

Lyrics

Wait ‘til I turn my love on
Wait ‘til, wait ‘til
Wait ‘til I turn my love on
I’m no cheap thrill
I’m a rollercoaster ride, baby jump on
Come on, come on
Cause baby if you can’t tell – you’re what I wanna love on, ohh

This doesn’t have to be some sort of mathematical equation
Slip off your jeans, slide in the sheets, screaming “yes” in quotations
Clock in, baby get to work
Night shift but with all the perks
Time stamping when you fell in love
Time can’t mess with us

Oooh, if you think about falling, got you covered like garments
Oooh, I deserve an applause for, keeping you up late ‘til you can’t see straight,
Just wait, woo!

Wait ‘til I turn my love on
Wait ‘til, wait ‘til
Wait ‘til I turn my love on
I’m no cheap thrill
I’m a roller coaster ride, baby jump on
Come on come on
Cause baby if you can’t tell, you’re what I wanna love on, ohh!
Wait ‘til I turn my love on
Wait ‘til wait till
Wait ‘til I turn my love on
You’ll get your thrill
Just promise you’ll be patient with the outcome
Come on
Cause baby if you can’t tell, you’re what I wanna love on

Why we conversing over this steak tartare when we could be
Somewhere other than here making out in the back of a car
Or in the back of a bar
Or we could make a memoir, yeah
On the back wall of the last stall in the bathroom at the bazaar

Oooh, if you think about falling, got you covered like garments
Oooh, I deserve an applause for, keeping you up late ‘til you can’t see straight,
Just wait, woo!

Wait ‘til I turn my love on
Wait ‘til, wait ‘til
Wait ‘til I turn my love on
I’m no cheap thrill
I’m a roller coaster ride, baby jump on
Come on come on
Cause baby if you can’t tell, you’re what I wanna love on, ohh!
Wait ‘til I turn my love on
Wait ‘til, wait ‘til
Wait ‘til I turn my love on
You’ll get your thrill
Just promise you’ll be patient with the outcome
Come on
Cause baby if you can’t tell, you’re what I wanna love on

Wait ‘til I
Wait ‘til I

Baby if you can’t tell, you’re what I wanna love on, ohh!

Today Architectural Digest is welcomed to Nashville by Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves for a tour of her beautiful, serene home. Musgraves purchased the property in 2020 during a time of significant change in her life, setting out to recalibrate the entire feel both inside and out alongside interior designer Lindsay Rhodes. “I wanted a place that felt like me,” she says, “where I could express myself without having to think about another person and what they might want. This felt like a new beginning.”
