About Kes:
Of the many musical acts which call Trinidad & Tobago home, perhaps none embody its polyglot culture more than KES, the eclectic soca outfit behind some of modern Caribbean music’s most indelible anthems. Celebrated for Carnival hits (“Wotless,” “Savannah Grass”) and island pop jams (“Tuesday on the Rocks,” “Endless Summer”), the band has brought Trinidad to the world, sharing stages with the likes of Will Smith, Major Lazer and John Legend. For the group — charismatic singer Kees Dieffenthaler (aka KES) and his brothers Jon (guitar) and Hans (drums), along with childhood friend, Riad Boochoon (bass) —blending soca, pop, rock, reggae, calypso, dancehall and afrobeats together is one part of their greater calling: To spread good vibes. The last three years have proven to be the most successful in the band’s decade-plus-run. “Hello,” a fusion of afrobeats and soca originally released in 2017, continues to reach new audiences over two years after its release. With over 40 million plays on YouTube alone, it is one of the most streamed soca songs of all time. We Home, a live project recorded during the Covid-19 quarantine, is the band’s first album in over five years, with fresh renditions of KES’ carnival classics showcasing their prowess as a live band par excellence.

Lyrics:

Lyrics:

We chase the sun
And the fire in our souls
It’s in our blood
The stories we´ve been told
We hunt for glory
To save our burning flame
Some live forever
And some fall along the way

So don’t you cry when the sky comes down
Save your tears when a hero drowns
They will stay alive
Through the stories in your mind
And don’t you cry when a star falls down
Save your tears when I`m not around
Oh my child
Legends never die

We´re burn to run
We live and die as one
No storm will break us
Even if we´re dead and gone
Amidst decay
Our memories remain
Stories of warriors
Who died to save our name

So don’t you cry when the sky comes down
Save your tears when a hero drowns
They will stay alive
Through the stories in your mind
And don’t you cry when a star falls down
Save your tears when I`m not around
Oh my child
Legends never die

We chase the sun
To keep the death at bay
Some live forever
And some fall along the way
So don’t you cry when the sky comes down
Save your tears when a hero drowns
They will stay alive
Through the stories in your mind
And don’t you cry when a star falls down
Save your tears when I`m not around
Oh my child

Legends never die
Legends never die
Legends never die

Lyrics:

[Verse 1 – Toosii]
Forgive me I was sinnin’
But we still winning’
My first $30K, I spent it at the dentist
I got tired of frowning ‘bout my sad life
My bad life I’m grinning
When the lamb truck pull of and it go skrt they know how I’m living
I been at it for a minute
Adamant my feelings
How you mad about my feelings
I’m the one who was the realest
Off this rap made a killing
I done seen too many killings
I done seen too many chicks that double back and Ion feel it
Ion feel it all
I know they mad that we ball
Im claustrophobic, around with too many feel like I’m trapped in the stall
And I’m a extravert I’d rather be trapped in the wall
I’m from the trenches where my granny always prayed for us all
I say a prayer like, “Lord, please protect me from the evil”
You know I’m a empath, I be reading through people
I don’t think I’m better than no one, I think we equal
And the firearms I tote, they all legal
You know I be praying for my health
And I’m praying for my wealth
So I go hard, pray the label just don’t put me on the shelf
Got a son that’s on the way, I got a lot under my belt
And he ain’t here yet
When he here won’t ask me, “Is we there yet”
I could’ve shed tears to this one
I think they gon’ feel for this one
Ohhhh
Everyday I wake up pray for better days
One thing that I know, God love me more than he did yesterday
[indistinct audio]
[Verse 2 – Toosii]
Tryna invest in condominiums
Chickens tryna find out what’s the condom size
Other ones pop up with babies, how when I was condomized?
Before my lady, the one I met, know she down to ride
Babymomma, she the only one these other chicks be lying
I done been through way too much
Pray the Lord gon’ wait for us
‘Cause where we from it’s dangerous
Pray they don’t play with us
and I’ll never tell the war stories ‘bout what we did
I’m just glad I don’t look like what I been through and look how we live
Roof over my ceiling I’ma have tuition paid for all my kids
My nephew daddy locked up gotta do a bid
I’ma treat ‘em like my kid
Say if I pray it be okay
Some things that I go through, like no way
Not tryna go back to the old days
Know they want me back to my old ways
Won’t treat me like I’m no slave
We’ll bring it straight to your door just like we Postmates
Fell out with one of my partnas, now we post-mates
Then I fell in with his girl, she think we close mates
Know the devil always plottin’
They don’t like my swag, they try to say that I be cocky
I’ve been eatin getting stocky
For the things that we done did and we can’t get away
One thing that I know, God love me more than he did yesterday

K-Trap - Outings (Official Video) Hotney 7 Streams • 3 years ago

K-Trap - 'Outings' out now: https://K-Trap.lnk.to/OutingsID

Lyrics:
All I knew was clips and chambers, pyrex dishes, tonne machines
Back then when the aim was 100gs, now thats on my sleeve
Before I done 10,000 streams I had a 150,000 re
It was really counts before the accountant
Signed a deal and said I’ll stop, same week had the boots out
Money aint even hit my account yet
Its rowdy, we turned Lambeth maps to Saudi
We took trey’s and MAC’s on outings
We got flavour packs and counting

Came up in the kitchen space bricks of yey and a little plate
Got them on tick, I owe them man 50k
Tell you how it went I got 21st century blues like Raye
Try put them on the news that day
No shotgun its different shoes that day
Bro said the 40. ran out, so we got to switch machines
Had a brownin with men on the table looking like Libertine
Mad when you're sitting with the mop and you miss the drop and you wish you cleaned

Mash link came then we riz up crime, run out of bine
Made the yard man fix up the teeth he's quick like Invisalign
Rapper boy still smelling like powder, i feel like it's embedded
Bro just called got to give him his credit, and bro just scored got to give him his credit
Mad how I’m so far gone but way too close it's a crazy thing
Breaking through, I was tryna break the pin on the 380° spin
Really had the clamp so tight on the brick at one stage it was that all I had
Now I’m in the flagship store outside tryna make sure it's all in bags

All I knew was clips and chambers, pyrex dishes, tonne machines
Back then when the aim was 100 G’s, now thats on my sleeve
Before I done 100,000 streams I had a 150,000 re
It was really counts before the accountant
Signed a deal and said I would stop, same week had a booting
Money aint even hit my account yet
Its rowdy, we turned Lambeth maps to Saudi
