LYRICS:
Someone’s Daughter

You teach me how to be a man,
Though I am someone’s daughter.
The path of warrior was set for me
And I had to try on the armor.

No it doesn’t suit me
And it feels so heavy!
I’m frightened
And so ashamed.
That I have to combat the world alone,
That I have to swing my sword alone.

So my gentleness is turned into rigidity.
And once soft the skin is nothing but the scale.
One by one I lead unequal fights, eventually
The beauty’s nose is broken, and I faint

Life feeds me bullets and stones
And I stitch myself up alone.
If I cry I will run my tears
Inside of my blood-stained cheeks.
I’ve found talents beyond comprehension,
All my battles are a sight to behold.
Wading through the hardship alone
Translating my body to soul!

Oh brutal world! I’m not your enemy.
This role of warrior brings nothing but the misery!
If a woman’s wings are trimmed
And her radiance is dimmed,
This is over. This is over!
You will see her ride a broom.

With a force to be reckoned,
To be no longer the second,
I am no longer a daughter!
I eat them for breakfast,
I eat them for lunch,
I have audacity to throw the first punch!

I dwell in the shadows.
I sleep in the light.
I am no longer a daughter.
I throw the first punch!

Karyn White: Why Warner Bros BLOCKED LA & Babyface From Working on Romantic (Part 6) Hotney 5 Streams • 4 years ago

Karyn White is known for several hit singles including "Superwoman" (1988), "Secret Rendezvous" (1989), "The Way You Love Me" (1988), and the US Hot 100 No. 1 single "Romantic" (1991).

White's self-titled debut album Karyn White was released in 1988. It was produced by L.A. Reid and Babyface and achieved platinum status in the US. The album contained the Hot 100 hit singles "The Way You Love Me", "Secret Rendezvous", and "Superwoman" as well as the No. 1 R&B hit "Love Saw It", a duet with Babyface himself. White was nominated in the Best R&B/Urban Contemporary New Artist category for the 1989 Soul Train Music Awards, which was won by Al B. Sure. She also received nominations for two Grammy Awards. She became the first female artist to have the first three solo releases from their debut album hit No. 1 on the R&B charts.

Her follow-up album was Ritual of Love in 1991. It had songs produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and featured the hit single "Romantic", which hit number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Other singles from the album include "The Way I Feel About You" (U.S. 12), "Walkin' the Dog", and "Do Unto Me" (the last two did not chart).

Her next album was Make Him Do Right in 1994. The album did not sell well, although she did chart with the singles "Hungah" and the Babyface-penned "Can I Stay With You", which became her final U.S. R&B Top 10 hit in early 1995. "I'd Rather Be Alone", her last chart single to date, peaked at No. 50 on the same chart later that year. In 1995, White appeared with Mary J. Blige, Monica and others for the single "Freedom (Theme from Panther)" for the soundtrack to the Melvin Van Peebles film of the same name.

White left Warner Bros. Records in 1999, and dropped out of the music public eye for many years to start a family.

BigXthaPlug - 2AM (Official Lyric Video)

🔔 Subscribe to BigXthaPlug's channel: https://bit.ly/3SLQimL

Lyrics:

Ay
2am and I'm live
I just left out the club with the gang and a high yellow b*tch that's real thick in the thighs
You know me, I be shooting my shot when I got the lil' b*tch, wasn't even surprised
In the club looked her deep in the eyes and said,
"You comin' with me, if you're with it, let's ride"
Got a text, "When you coming inside?"
Off the liquor, didn't know what to say, so I lied
I text back, "Late at the stu', tryna cook somethin' new"
It's just me and the guys
She text "Hm", I ain't even reply
Then I rolled up a 'wood while I gripped on her thighs
Start to kiss on her neck, know this b*tch feelin' high
Ain't gon' lie, her p*ssy and head kinda fye
Ended at a hotel somewhere off 35
F*ck her good and rolled over, said wake me up in 5
Gotta p*ss, I wake up, man, it's 6:39
At the time, now I'm on the highway and I'm flyin'
Look at my phone, not a soul on my line
And I'm deep in my thoughts
I'm just knowin' she's cryin'
I'm trippin', I'm tryna
Straight out of the lies
I know if I slip, it's gon' damage our ties
I done did it before, I can't do all this cryin'

Ay
She gon' ask where I was
I'ma answer, what time?
Where was you around 3?
I think I was outside
But you told me the stu'
We got there at like 5
But it's 7
Sh*t, Deion had asked for a ride
Now I got it together
I pull up outside
It's 3 cars in this lot and one of 'em ain't mine
Now I'm clutching, I unlock the door, creep inside
I heard thumpin' upstairs, so I cocked the b*tch quiet
Hit the top of the stairs, think I heard my girl cryin'
Now I'm thinking, should I kick the door and kill everything in it, except for what's mine?
I don't know, but now I'm at the door
And she's screaming, go deeper
He tells her, be quiet
I walk in, tell the b*tch that she's wild

Tell the n*gga, he moves, and it's about to go down
Tell them both to shut up and don't even make a sound
She said, but
I said, shut the f*ck up and lay down
Next person moves, I'ma let off a round
Now I'm pacing, I'm trying to see how I'm getting down
If I kill 'em both, then that makes me a clown
Mama told me, don't trust 'em, but look at me now
One in the chamber, two faced on the ground
Got me like, should I leave and just burn this b*tch down?
I wake up, it's a dream
I'm outside of my house
