NOTHIN 2 SOMETHIN ( Podcast )

In this podcast, I bring up topics to give my criticism and critique in a way where it will inspire and motivate young boys and men to do better in life and fight to be as great as they can be the right way.

I want to use this platform to help young men understand that the worldly things they see on an everyday basis are not always the way and can lead them on a destructive and hypocritical path that will continue to keep them financially unstable if they don't take a direction that can help them grow into the man they strive to become.

This podcast will ultimately, and hopefully, change a lot of young men's mindsets and thoughts by showing them they have choices. They can be prosperous and successful in ways that will make them a lot happier no matter where they come from in life if they make the right choices in life that God laid out for us as men!

So many negative messages are being given to young men on social media and television platforms, leading me to do this. And I believe that if I can capture just a couple young men, it may spark a lot more to want to change. Listening to a man like myself who can see care coming from a more successful direction

I am always fighting to help the young men who come from broken homes & the culturally disruptive world I come from where you don't receive the right direction and answers in life and may need the right influential male figure to hear from but I am ultimately here for all of our young men who may need some raw realistic messages that may help them grow in life

OGM x NFR Podcast | A Crossover Special: Rolling Loud LA, Kendrick Lamar, Playboi Carti & More! Hotney 6 Streams • 4 years ago

#OGM #NFRPodcast #OurGenerationMusic

“It’s the best collab since Taco Bell and KFC.” Just like when Timmy Turner and Jimmy Neutron joined forces for their iconic “Timmy Jimmy Power Hour” in 2004, OGM and NFR are breeding community amongst both fan bases.

Our Generation Music’s Hakeem Rowe sat down with @NFRPodcast hosts Luca Guerini and Anthony D'Aliesio as they visited Los Angeles (for the very first time) to take in Rolling Loud California. The podcast — which covers a diverse range of evergreen topics in rap, music reviews, audio listicles, live listenings and more — has become a tastemaker’s earworm bred from the confines of Hip Hop Twitter.

The Montreal-based duo are hip-hop heads to their core, as all three hosts discuss everything from the influence of Playboi Carti, the originality of new wave stars like Yeat and Eem Triplin, artistic evolution, taste-making, most underrated/most anticipated albums of 2022-23, Kendrick Lamar and much more in this OGM x NFR crossover special.

Favorite Song

I’m on the stage right now
Singing your favorite song
Look in the crowd and you’re no where to be found as they sing along
I say,
You look good without no makeup
No lashes even better when you wake up
uh-uh-uh
I see the look on your face
I see ya hiding the hate
I see ya looking for someone to scoop you right off of your feet
You wanna ride in a Wraith
You wanna go out on dates
You want somebody to come bring you flowers
Someone to talk to for hours
Wash your back while y’all sit in the shower
Someone to tell you “you’re beautiful”
Someone to tell you and mean it
Someone to tell you I love you everyday
And don’t got a reason
You want someone to bring you peace
Someone to help you sleep
Someone to pick you up when you feeling down feeling lonely
Need somebody
Who can make it better
Somebody
Who can open up those gates
Open up those gates to your heart
Only if you’ll let me
I’m on the stage right now
Singing your favorite song
Look in the crowd and you’re no where to be found as they sing along
I say,
You look good without no makeup
No lashes even better when you wake up
uh-uh-uh
I see the look on you face
I see ya looking for peace
I see ya tired of the hurt
Tired of the pain
Tired of the nights where you can’t get no sleep
I see you’re tired thinking bout if he cheat
See you’re tired thinking bout if you leaving
See you’re tired of being so tired
And ya damn sure ain’t getting even
Need somebody
Who can make it better
Somebody
Who can open up those gates
Open up those gates to your heart
Only if you’ll let me
I’m on the stage right now
Singing your favorite song
Look in the crowd and you’re no where to be found as they sing along
I say,
You look good without no makeup
No lashes even better when you wake up

Lyrics

(Rosalia)

Yo me voy contigo a matar
No me dejes sola
¿Pa donde vas?
¿A donde vas? (Rauw)
Ven pa aca (Rosalia)
¿Pa donde vas? (Rauw)
Uuooh Uuooh
Si me bailas me lo das to’

Uuooh Uuooh

Solo te aviso a ti

Si tu me esperas
El tiempo puedo doblar
El cielo puedo amarrar
Y dartelo entero

(Rauw)

Yo me voy contigo a matar No me dejes solo
¿Pa donde vas?
¿A donde vas? (Rosalia)

(Rauw)
Y si tu me esperas
El tiempo puedo doblar, el cielo puedo amarrar y dartelo entero

(Rosalia & Rauw)

Yo me voy contigo a matar
No me dejes sola
¿Pa donde vas?
¿A donde vas?

PEOPLE'S PARTY WITH TALIB KWELI

People's Party is a weekly interview show hosted by Talib Kweli and Jasmin Leigh. Guests range from the biggest names in hip-hop to global entertainers to the most progressive minds moving our culture forward. The audio podcast is available on Apple and Spotify.

Talib Kweli And Zaytoven Talk Gucci Mane, Migos, & Church's Influence On Trap Music | Peopl Hotney 2 Streams • 4 years ago

In this episode of People's Party, Talib Kweli and co-host Jasmin Leigh sit down with Grammy Award-winning record producer and pioneer of the "Trap Music" sound -- Zaytoven. This in-depth interview gives us great insight on how Zay became one of the biggest names in the industry, starting with his beginnings living in the Bay during the 90's perfecting his craft under legends like JT The Bigga Figga and E-40, then moving to Atlanta to produce and help shape the careers of so many Trap Music icons, including Lecrae, Gucci Mane, Migos, and countless others. As the interview progresses, Zaytoven opens up about the church's influence on his music, and how he balances his deep-rooted faith, while operating in the Trap world.

Kweli, Jasmin, and Zaytoven go on to discuss his talent as a barber, and how that skill helped contribute to his level of success. (Along with why he kept a steady gig, even when he had hits.) Talib and Zaytoven trade stories of their first interactions with Gucci Mane, and the lead up to their collaboration on the record "Poltergeist." Zay also shares how he met Migos and Usher, and details the awe he experienced watching Future at work in the studio.

As the interview comes to a close the trio discusses contrasting strategies on staying relevant with today's fickle fan-bases, producers not getting their due props in the Spotify era, and what Zaytoven has in store for us down the line.

Interview timing:

1:45 -- Talib asks Zaytoven how he made it from the Bay Area, Cali to Atlanta, GA.

3:18 -- Zaytoven speaks on his early start working with Bay hip-hop greats such as JT The Bigga Figga, Messy Marv, San Quinn, and E-40 while still in high school.

4:56 -- The trio discuss the Bay Area and ATL connection, with all their similarities in relation to hip hop culture.

7:36 -- Zaytoven tells about learning multiple instruments with his church band and quickly gravitating towards the piano and organ. Also, how his faith influenced his sound, and in turn, even the tone of lyrics laid down from those he collaborates with.

10:32 -- Zaytoven and Talib share their stories of making their parents fans of hip-hip through their success.

14:59 -- Zaytoven talks about his talent in cutting hair, being his first real hustle, and how it's been an instrumental part of his success in regards to networking and social skills.

18:42 -- Talib asks Zaytoven about his opinion on those making Trap music, but not living the lifestyle they portray on their records.

19:43 -- Talib and Zaytoven discuss their first impressions meeting Gucci Mane and how Kweli was surprised by Gucci's reaction to him, which led to their collaboration on "Poltergeist."

22:26 -- Zaytoven then tells the story of how he first met Gucci Mane, how he started making beats for Gucci to rap over, and the story behind "So Icy." He also expands on what it was like making songs for the club and the streets as well as Gucci's intelligence and confidence in what they were doing. And finally they dive into the Gucci Mane clone rumors and what it is that started the "Gucci Mane Clone" theory online.

29:36 -- Zaytoven details how he linked up with Migos to produce their huge hit recording "Versace" making their mark in the industry.

33:05 -- Zaytoven explains how he balances his Christian faith with making trap music and working with some of the hardest artists in the game, complete with an anecdote about how Gucci Mane introduces him to people. This leads into a discussion on the sound of the club in Atlanta and how that led Zaytoven to working with Usher and his experience there.

37:00 -- Zaytoven speaks on his working relationship with Future and his amazement watching him operating in the studio.

38:24 -- Zaytoven and Talib discuss rapper, Lecrae's ability to successfully carry Christianity in the vein of Trap without compromising his creative integrity.

41:03 -- Talib asks Zaytoven, what are the things about an artist like Lil' Uzi Vert that a hip-hop purist should respect and appreciate.

44:58 -- Zaytoven and Talib discuss the differing strategies, balances, pros and cons of staying relevant in the modern-era of music by releasing lots of content vs. less, keeping people in anticipation of every release. Zaytoven also gives producers some advice on how to get more recognition in the music streaming age, where they are rarely given full credit.

50:16 -- Talib: "Tell us what's in the future for Zaytoven, besides you, and me working together". Jasmin also asks Zaytoven about Atlanta's "Trap Round Table" event.
